Ionic Debye Screening in Dense Liquid Plasmas Observed for Li+p,d Reactions with Liquid Li Target

Thick target yields of α particles emitted in the 6Li(d,α)4he and 7Li(p,α)4he reactions were measured for Li target in the solid and liquid phase. Observed reaction rates for the liquid Li are always larger than those for the solid. This suggests that the stopping power of hydrogen ion in the liquid Li metal might be smaller than in the solid. Using the empirically obtained stopping power for the liquid Li,we have deduced the screening potentials of the Li+p and Li+d reactions in both phases. The deduced screening potential for the liquid Li is about 500 eV larger than for the solid. This difference is attributed to the effect of liquefied Li+ ions. It is concluded that the ionic screening is much stronger than the electronic screening in a low-temperature dense plasmas.

Advanced gastric cancer （GC） has been recognized as lethal disease when peritoneal metastases （PM） *** is no standard treatment for advanced GC with *** 1980s,the therapeutic arena for these patients had remained stagnant,with no therapeutic approach having shown a survival gain in GC with ***,cytoreductive surgery （CRS） with peritonectomy procedures and intraperitoneal chemotherapy （IPC） promising new combined therapeutic approach to achieve disease control for GC with *** recent publications changed the GC with PM treatment landscape by providing an evidence that CRS and IPC led to prolongation in overall survival （OS）.This review will provide an overview of the evolving role of CRS and IPC in the management of advanced GC with PM in the current era.

The development of an energy storage system with abundant elements is a key challenge for a sustainable society,and the interest of Na intercalation chemistry is extending throughout the research ***,the impact of Ti integration into NaMnO2 in a binary system of x NaMnO2–(1–x)TiO2(0:5≤x≤1)is systematically examined for rechargeable Na battery *** NaMnO2,which is classified as an in-plane distorted O′3-type layered structure,delivers a large initial discharge capacity of approximately 200 mAhg-1,but insufficient capacity retention is observed,most probably associated with dissolution of Mn ions on electrochemical ***-substituted samples show highly improved electrode performance as electrode ***,the appearance of a sodium-deficient phase,Na4Mn4Ti5O18 with a tunnel-type structure,is observed for Ti-rich *** the samples in this binary system,Na0.8Mn0.8Ti0.2O2(x=0:8),which is a mixture of a partially Ti-substituted O′3-type layered oxide(Na0.88Mn0.88Ti0.12O2)and tunnel-type Na4Mn4Ti5O18 as a minor phase elucidated by Rietveld analysis on both neutron and X-ray diffraction patterns,shows good electrode performance on the basis of energy density and *** phases are electrochemically active as evidenced by in situ X-ray diffraction study,and the improvement of reversibility originates from the suppression of Mn dissolution on electrochemical *** these results,the feasibility of Mn-based electrode materials for high-energy rechargeable Na batteries made from only abundant elements is discussed in detail.

Comprehensive treatment for the peritoneal metastasis from gastric cancer

Recently, a novel comprehensive treatment consisting of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) and perioperative chemotherapy(POC) was developed for the treatment of peritoneal metastasis(PM) with a curative intent. In the treatment, the macroscopic disease is completely removed by the peritonectomy techniques in combination with POC. This article reviews the results of the comprehensive treatment for PM from gastric cancer, and verifies the effects of CRS and POC, including neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) and hyperthermic intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy(hIPEC). Completeness of cytoreduction, peritoneal carcinomatosis index(PCI) less than the threshold levels after NAC,absence of ascites, cytologic status, pathologic response after NAC are the independent prognostic factors. Among these prognostic factors, PCI threshold level is the most valuable independent prognostic factor. After staging laparoscopy, patients with PM from gastric cancer are recommended to treat with NAC before CRS. After NAC, indication for CRS is determined by laparoscopy. The indications of the comprehensive treatment are patients with PCI less than the threshold levels, negative cytology, and responders after NAC. Patients satisfy these factors are the candidates for the CRS and hIPEC.
