Enhanced termination of zinc and cadmium ions from wastewater employing plain and chitosan-modified mxenes: synthesis, characterization,and adsorption performance

Zinc and cadmium pollutants cause a significant environmental effect that cannot be ignored. Due to their considerable amount in an aqueous environment, industries are seeking suitable adsorbents that are environmentally friendly and inexpensive for removing metals from wastewater before disposing of them in surface waters. This research employed original MXene(MX) and chitosan-modified MXene(CSMX) to extract zinc(Zn(Ⅱ)) and cadmium(Cd(Ⅱ)) metal ions from water-based solutions. The composite material produced was analyzed using techniques such as X-ray Diffraction(XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET). The effects of contact duration, p h of the solution, and initial concentration of metal ions on the adsorption process of Zn(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) onto both MX and CSMX composites were investigated. MX and prepared CSMX composite presented a high adsorption capacity for both studied heavy metals, which were 91.55 and 73.82 mg/g for Zn(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) onto MX, 106.84 and 93.07 mg/g for Cd(Ⅱ) and Zn(Ⅱ) onto CSMX composite, respectively. Furthermore, the maximum competitive adsorption capacities for Zn(Ⅱ) onto MX and CSMX composites are 77.29 and 93.47 mg/g, and for are Cd(Ⅱ)60.30 and 79.66 mg/g, respectively. hence, the removal capacities for both single and competitive metal ions were superior to CSMX composite. however, the adsorption capacities after five successive regeneration sequences were only dropped by 13.2% for Zn(Ⅱ) and 17.4% for Cd(Ⅱ) onto the CSMX composite compared to the first cycle. These results confirm that both metals could be efficiently terminated from wastewater, which makes the prepared CSMX composite a favorable candidate adsorbent in practical applications.

A cermet composite was prepared by employing thermal spraying flame onto stainless steel surfaces of(304)*** 25,50%of aluminum was mixed with matrix of(10%Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)).A spray system consistis of oxygen barrel,acetylene and spray gun that contains powders feeder at different spray distances(5,10,15,20 and 25 cm).The thermal treatment of the samples resulting from spraying was performed at 1100℃for 1.5 *** physical examinations(porosity and adhesion),mechanical tests(hardness and wear rate)and Atomic Force Microscope(AFM)test were performed before and after thermal *** test results showed that the best mixing rate was(50%)and the best spray distance was(15cm)where the quality of coating layer improved after thermal treatment at 1100℃for 1.5 hr with a porosity ratio reduced from 11.2%to 6.6%,and adhesion strength improved with the increase in the alumina content to 50%.The results demonstrated that the best adhesion value after thermal treatment was 30.98 *** hardness of coating layer increased from 45.78 to 54.88 hV;while the lowest rate of wear was at 50%of alumina with a spray distance of ***,there was a clear improvement based on AFM within grain size,root mean square and roughness rate.

Eight new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by template reaction of 1,4-bis（3-aminopropoxy）butane with metal nitrate and 1,3-bis（2-formylphenyl）propane or 1,4-bis（2-formylphenyl）butane and their structures were proposed on the basis of elemental analysis, FTIR, UV-vis, molar conductivity measurements, ^1h NMR and mass spectra. The metals to ligand molar ratios of the complexes were found to be 1： 1. The complexes are 1：2 electrolytes for Pb（II）, Zn（II） and Cd（II） complexes and 1：3 electrolytes for La（III） as shown by their molar conductivities （Am） in DMSO at 10^-3 mol L^-1. Due to the existence of free ions in these complexes, such complexes are electrically conductive. The configurations of La（III） and Pb（II） were proposed to probably octahedral and Zn（II） and Cd（II） complexes were proposed to probably tetrahedral.

Concrete compressive strength prediction is an essential process for material design and *** study investigates several novel hybrid adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)evolutionary models,i.e.,ANFIS-particle swarm optimization(PSO),ANFIS-ant colony,ANFIS-differential evolution(DE),and ANFIS-genetic algorithm to predict the foamed concrete compressive *** concrete properties,including cement content(C),oven dry density(O),water-to-binder ratio(W),and foamed volume(F)are used as input variables.A relevant data set is obtained from open-access published experimental investigations and used to build predictive *** performance of the proposed predictive models is evaluated based on the mean performance(MP),which is the mean value of several statistical error *** optimize each predictive model and its input variables,univariate(C,O,W,and F),bivariate(C-O,C-W,C-F,O-W,O-F,and W-F),trivariate(C-O-W,C-W-F,O-W-F),and four-variate(C-O-W-F)combinations of input variables are constructed for each *** results indicate that the best predictions obtained using the univariate,bivariate,trivariate,and four-variate models are ANFIS-DE-(O)(MP=0.96),ANFIS-PSO-(C-O)(MP=0.88),ANFIS-DE-(O-W-F)(MP=0.94),and ANFIS-PSO-(C-O-W-F)(MP=0.89),***-PSO-(C-O)yielded the best accurate prediction of compressive strength with an MP value of 0.96.

In recent years,cryptocurrency has become gradually more significant in economic regions *** cryptocurrencies,records are stored using a cryptographic *** main aim of this research was to develop an optimal solution for predicting the price of cryptocurrencies based on user opinions from social *** is used as a marketing tool for cryptoanalysis owing to the unrestricted conversations on cryptocurrencies that take place on social media ***,this work focuses on extracting Tweets and gathering data from different sources to classify them into positive,negative,and neutral categories,and further examining the correlations between cryptocurrency movements and Tweet *** paper proposes an optimized method using a deep learning algorithm and convolution neural network for cryptocurrency prediction;this method is used to predict the prices of four cryptocurrencies,namely,Litecoin,Monero,Bitcoin,and *** results of analyses demonstrate that the proposed method forecasts prices with a high accuracy of about 98.75%.The method is validated by comparison with existing methods using visualization tools.

Six new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by a template reaction of 1,4-bis（2-formylphenoxy）butane with diamines and Cu（NO3）2·3h2O and their structures were proposed on the basis of elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, magnetic susceptibility measurements, molar conductivity measurements and mass spectra. The metal to ligand molar ratios of the Cu（Ⅱ） complexes were found to be 1 ： 1. The Cu（Ⅱ） complexes are 1 ： 2 electrolytes as shown by their molar conductivities （∧m） in DMF at 10^-3 mol·L^-1. Due to the existence of free ions the Cu（Ⅱ） complexes are electrically conductive. Their configurations were proposed to be probably distorted octahedral.

Oxidative stress is linked to increased risk of gastric cancer and matrix metalloproteinases （MMPs） are important in the invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer. We aimed to analyze the effect of the accumulation of oxidative stress in the gastric cancer MKN-45 and 23132/87 cells following hydrogen peroxide （h202） exposure on the expression patterns of MMP-1, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-9, MMP-10, MMP- 1 1, MMP- 12, MMP-14, MMP- 15, MMP- 17, MMP-23, MMP-28, and β-catenin genes. Methods： The mRNA transcripts in the cells were determined by RT-PCR. Following h202 exposure, oxidative stress in the viable cells was analyzed by 2＇,7＇-dichlorofluorescein diaeetate （DCFh-DA）. Caffeie acid phenethyl ester （CAPE） was used to eliminate oxidative stress and the consequence of h2O2 exposure and its removal on the expressions of the genes were evaluated by quantitative real-time PCR. Results： The expressions of MMP-1, MMP-7, MMP-14, MMP-15, MMP-17 and β-catenin in MKN-45 cells and only the expression of MMP-15 in 23132/87 cells were increased. Removal of the oxidative stress resulted in decrease in the expressions of MMP genes of which the expressions were increased after h202 exposure. β-catenin, a transcription factor for many genes including MMPs, also displayed decreased levels of expression in both of the cell lines following CAPE treatment. Conclusions： Our data suggest that there is a remarkable link between the accumulation of oxidative stress and the increased expressions of MMP genes in the gastric cancer cells and MMPs should be considered as potential targets of therapy in gastric cancers due to its continuous exposure to oxidative stress.

Performance investigation of LAMBDA and bootstrapping methods for PPP narrow-lane ambiguity resolution

Precise point positioning with ambiguity resolution(PPP-AR)is a powerful tool for geodetic and time-constrained applications that require high *** performance of PPP-AR highly depends on the reliability of the correct integer carrier-phase ambiguity *** this study,the performance of narrow-lane ambiguity resolution of PPP using the Least-squares AMBiguity Decorrelation(LAMBDA)and bootstrapping methods is extensively investigated using real data from 55 IGS stations over one-month in *** PPP with 24-,12-,8-,4-,2-,1-and½-h sessions using two different cutoff angles(7°and 30°)was conducted with three PPP modes:***-float and two kinds of ambiguity-fixed PPP using the LAMBDA and bootstrapping methods for narrow-lane AR,*** results show that the LAMBDA method can produce more reliable results for 2 hour and shorter observation sessions com-pared with the bootstrapping method using a 7°cutoff *** a 30°cutoff angle,the LAMBDA method outperforms the bootstrapping method for observation sessions of 4 h and *** long observation times,the bootstrapping method produced much more accurate coordinates compared with the LAMBDA method without considering the wrong fixes *** results also show that occurrences of fixing the wrong integer ambiguities using the bootstrapping method are higher than that of the LAMBDA method.
