We demonstrate a passively Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser （EDFL） using a copper nanoparticle （CuNP） thin film as the saturable absorber in a ring cavity. A stable Q-switched pulse operation is observed as the CuNP saturable absorber （SA） is introduced in the cavity. The pulse repetition rate of the EDFL is observed to be proportional to the pump power, and is limited to 101.2khz by the maximum pump power of 113.7mW. On the other hand, the pulse width reduces from 10.19μs to 4.28μs as the pump power is varied from 26.1 mW to 113.7mW. The findings suggest that CuNP SA could be useful as a potential saturable absorber for the development of the robust, compact, efficient and low cost Q-switched fiber laser operating at 1.5-μm region.

It is difficult to compute far-field waves in a relative large area by using one wave generation model when a large calculation domain is needed because of large dimensions of the waterway and long distance of the required computing points. Variation of waterway bathymetry and nonlinearity in the far field cannot be included in a ship fixed process either. A coupled method combining a wave generation model and wave propagation model is then used in this paper to simulate the wash waves generated by the passing ship. A NUrBS-based higher order panel method is adopted as the stationary wave generation model; a wave spectrum method and Boussinesq-type equation wave model are used as the wave propagation model for the constant water depth condition and variable water depth condition, respectively. The waves calculated by the NUrBS-based higher order panel method in the near field are used as the input for the wave spectrum method and the Boussinesq-type equation wave model to obtain the far-field waves. With this approach it is possible to simulate the ship wash waves including the effects of water depth and waterway bathymetry. Parts of the calculated results are validated experimentally, and the agreement is demonstrated. The effects of ship wash waves on the moored ship are discussed by using a diffraction theory method. The results indicate that the prediction of the ship induced waves by coupling models is feasible.

This study covers the transportation of Cu（Ⅱ） ions by multi-dropped liquid membrane（MDLM） system and tri-noctylamine（TNOA） as carrier in kerosene. Batch experiments are held to obtain optimum conditions for the transportation of Cu（Ⅱ） ions such as volume of donor, organic, and acceptor phase 100 ml, ph of donor phase9.00, temperature 298.15 K, concentration of h2SO4 in acceptor phase 1.00 mol·L^-1, concentration of TNOA in organic phase 5.00 × 10^-3mol·L^-1and rate of peristaltic pump 50 ml·min^-1. Optimum circumstances of this extraction are as follows： ph of donor phase is 9.00, concentration of TNOA is 5.00 × 10^-3mol·L^-1,1.00 mol·L^-1h2SO4 as acceptor phase, and flux rate is 50 ml·min^-1. Cu（Ⅱ） ion transportation is consecutive first order irreversible reaction. Activation energy is found as 5.22 kcal·mol^-1（21.82 kJ·mol^-1, this process is called as diffusion controlled system. Selective transportation of Cu（Ⅱ） ions with alkaline, alkaline earth, and different heavy metal ions at optimum conditions of single Cu（Ⅱ） extraction was conducted. According to the selective transportation Cu（Ⅱ） ions with alkaline and alkaline earth metal ions, Na^＋, K^＋, and Ba^2＋ions are not detected in the acceptor phase, but 12.00% of Ca-（2＋）ions is transported from donor phase to acceptor phase. At the end of the simultaneous extraction of Zn（Ⅱ）, Fe（Ⅲ）, and Mo（Ⅵ） with Cu（Ⅱ） ions, 2.20% of Mo（Ⅵ）, 0.80% of Fe（Ⅲ） and 3.60% of Zn（Ⅱ） are detected in the acceptor phase.

We have used the recent effective field theory （EFT） which is constructed from two- and three-nucleon interactions, using minimal substitution in the momentum dependence of these interactions. We present the calcula- tions of the fore-aft asymmetry of γ-rays in the reaction 2h（n,γ）3h which are based on EFT up to next-to-next-to leading order （N2LO）. The results are compared with the recently reported calculations and measurements of the fore-aft asymmetry of T-rays from neutron-deuteron radiative capture. The calculated fore-aft asymmetry of the nd radiative capture process above deuteron breakup threshold is in good agreement with the available experimental data up to 20 MeV.

In this paper we investigate the optical properties of an open four-level tripod atomic system driven by an elliptically polarized probe field and compare its properties with the corresponding closed system. Our results reveal that absorption,dispersion, group velocity, and optical bistability of the probe field can be manipulated by adjusting the phase difference between the two circularly polarized components of a single coherent field and cavity parameters, i.e., the atomic exit rate from cavity and atomic injection rates.

We present analytical method to calculate single particle matrix elements used in atomic and nuclear physics. We show seven different formulas of matrix elements of the operator f(r)d_r^m where f(r) = r~μ, r~μjJ(qr), V(r)corresponding to the Gaussian and the Yukawa potentials used in nuclear shell models and nuclear structure. In addition,we take into account a general integral formula of the matrix element 〈 n′ l′|f(r) d_r^(m) |n l〉 that covers all seven matrix elements obtained analytically.
