This paper presents a technique to reproduce compatible seismogran3s involving permanent displacen3ent effects at sites close to the fault source. A multi-objective evolutionary algorithm is used to minimize the differences between the response spectra and multi-tapered power spectral delsilies corresponding to the recorded and simulated wavelbrms. The multi-taper method is used to reduce the spectral leakage that is inherent in the Fourier rams formed form ofwavelbrms, ieading to a reduction of variance in power spectral amplitudes, thus permitting the calibration of the two sets of data. The technique is implemented using the 1998-Fandoqa （lran） earthquake data and the results are compared with the actual observed data. Additionally, a comparison is made with a SAr interfcrometry study leading to fair agreement with the reported dislocation along the main fault. The simulation procedure and results are discussed and assessed concluding that, although the technique may be associated with uncertainties, it can still be used to reproduce wavelbnns at near source sites that include permanent dislocation, and can be used for seismic pertbrmance evaluation of structures in the region under study.

This paper investigates the free vibration and transient response of interconnected structures including double curved beams and intermediate straight beams,which are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP) materials. The strain potential and kinetic energies of each beam along with the work done by the external force are calculated. Additionally, a higher-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass matrices, along with the force vector. The curved and straight beams are discretized, and their assembled stiffness, mass matrices, and force vectors, are *** conditions at the joints are used to derive the total matrices of the entire structure. Subsequently, the natural frequencies and transient response of the system are determined. The accuracy of the mathematical model and the self-developed computer program is validated through the comparison of the obtained results with those of the existing literature and commercial software ANSYS, demonstrating excellent ***, a comprehensive study is conducted to investigate the effects of various parameters on the free vibration and transient response of the considered structure.

Biomimetic surface is an effective ways to promote the performance grade and applied range of materials without alteringtheir *** improved properties such as resisting fatigue,enduring wear,etc,have been achieved by applyingbiomimetic morphology or structure to some engineering material *** this paper,aiming to reveal the relationshipbetween thermal cracking behavior and mechanical properties of engineering materials with biomimetic surface,biomimeticspecimens were fabricated using laser technique by imitating the heterogeneous structure on the surface of plant *** of thermal fatigue cycling on the tensile properties of h13 die steel specimens with different surfaces (several types ofbiomimetic surfaces and a smooth surface) was compared and *** a result,due to the coupling effects of themorphological features on the surface and the microstructure characteristics within unit zone,these specimens with biomimeticsurface exhibit remarkably enhanced Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) and 0.2% Yield Strength (YS) compared with referencespecimens while corresponding ductility remains largely unaffected even heightened,whether the thermal fatigue loads or *** relative mechanisms leading to these improvements have been discussed.

The building block of eukaryotic chromatin is the nucleo- some core particle （NCP）, which is consisted of -146 bps of DNA wrapped around an octamer of core histones. A tetra- mer of histone h3 and h4 and two h2A-h2B dimers form the histone octamer （Kornberg, 1974; Luger et al., 1997; Tho- mas and Kornberg, 1975）. During DNA replication, nucleo- some disassembly and reassembly occurs at the replication fork, and histone chaperons CAF-1 and ASF1 are principally responsible for the deposition of histones h3 and h4 onto replicated DNA （Kaufman et al., 1995; Tyler et al., 1999）. ASF1 binds a heterodimeric histone h3-h4 complex through its conserved N-terminal domain （aa 1-155） and impedes the formation of the （h3-h4）2 tetramer both inside the nucleus and in the cytoplasm （English et al., 2005）.

The change of connexin 43 （Cx43） expression and the biological behaviors of Cx43 in rat heart cell line h9c2, expressing Wnt-3a （wingless-type MMTV integration site family, member 3A） were evaluated in the present study. Plasmid pcDNA3.1/Wnt-3a was constructed and transferred into h9c2 cells. The cell model Wnt-3a+-h9c2 steadily expressing Wnt-3a was obtained. Compared with h9c2 and pcDNA3.1-h9c2 cells, the expression of Cx43 in Wnt-3a+-h9c2 cells was clearly increased, the proliferation of Wnt-3a+-h9c2 cells was significantly changed, and cell migration abilities were also improved （Prison with h9c2 and pcDNA3.1-h9c2 cells, the G2phase of the cell cycle increased by 11% in Wnt-3a+-h9c2 cells. Thus, Wnt-3a overexpression is associated with an increase in Cx43 expression and altered migratory and proliferative activity in h9c2 cells. Cx43 might be one of the downstream target genes regulated by Wnt-3a.

Three Complexes of the formula [Cd (4,4'-bpy)_2 (h_2O)_2]_n. (pic)_(2n) (1) [Zn (4,4'-bpy)_2 (h_2O)]_n (4,4'-bpy)_n(h_2O)_n (pic)-(2n) (2) and [Zn (4,4'-bpy)_2 (h_2O)]_n (4,4'-bpy)_n (pic)-(2n)(h_2O)_n (3) (4.4'-bpy = 4.4'-bipyridine. pic = picric anion ) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and single-crystal x-ray diffraction. They all have infinite three-dimensional network structure. crystallizing in the monoclinic space group C2/c (1) and Cc (2.3).

The equilibrated grain boundary groove shapes of solid solution Ag2Al in equilibrium with an AI-Cu-Ag liquid were observed from a quenched sample with a radial heat flow apparatus. The Gibbs Thomson coefficient, solid liquid interfacial energy and grain boundary energy of the solid solution Ag2Al have been determined from the observed grain boundary groove shapes. The thermal conductivity of the solid phase and the thermal conductivity ratio of the liquid phase to solid phase for Ag2Al-28.3 at the %CuAl2 alloy at the melting temperature have also been measured with a radial heat flow apparatus and Bridgman type growth apparatus, separately.

The mechanism of the spin-forbidden reaction Ti+(4F, 3d24s1) + C2h4 → TiC2h2+ (2A2) + h2 on both doublet and quartet potential energy surfaces has been investigated at the B3LYP level of theory. Crossing points between the potential energy surfaces and the possible spin inversion process are discussed by means of spin-orbit coupling (SOC) calculations. The strength of the SOC between the low-lying quartet state and the doublet state is 59.3 cm-1 in the intermediate complex IM1-4B2. Thus, the changes of its spin multiplicity may occur from the quartet to the doublet surface to form IM1- 2A1, leading to a sig-nificant decrease in the barrier height on the quartet PES. After the insertion intermediate IM2, two dis-tinct reaction paths on the doublet PES have been found, i.e., a stepwise path and a concerted path. The latter is found to be the lowest energy path on the doublet PES to exothermic TiC2h2+ (2A2) + h2 products, with the active barrier of 4.52 kcal/mol. In other words, this reaction proceeds in the following way: Ti++C2h4 →4IC→IM1-4B2→4,2ISC→IM1- 2A1→[2TSins]→IM2→[2TSMCTS]→IM5→TiC2h2+(2A2)+h2.
