＜正＞A method to electropoiish niobium with continuous current oscillation is introduced. The current continuously oscillates for as long as 3 hours. The key is to maintain continuous agitation of the acid mixture. A niobium surface treated by this method has suppressed grain boundaries and a lower hydrogen content. The method has been used to electropoiish L-band half-cells. The test results of a 1500 Mhz cavity made of electropolished half-cells are presented.

＜正＞As a first step toward a muon collider, a neutrino factory is being actively studied. The neutrino factory calls for nearly 500 meters of 200 Mhz SRF cavities to provide 7.5 GeV. The desired gradient is in the range of 15 -17 MV/m at a Q0 of 6 ×109. Nb-Cu is the technology of choice driven mainly by the cost concern. A Cornell/CERN collaboration was established to address the unique challenges imposed by the large size of these cavities. A 200 Mhz single cell elliptical Nb-Cu cavity has been fabricated and tested at 4.2 K and at 2.5 K in a vertical dewar fitted in a radiation shielded pit, 5 m deep and 2.5 m in diameter. The low field Q0 reached 1.5 ×1010 at 4.2 K. Two multipacting barriers show up at Eacc = 3 MV/m and 1 MV/m. Both barriers can be processed through. helium processing is effective in reducing field emission and improving accelerating gradients by a factor of as much as 2. Eacc reached 11 MV/m, or 75% of the desired gradient, at a Qo of 6 ×108. The major challenge is the Q-drop of the cavity, which shows a much stronger field dependence rate than expected. This is to be addressed by further film studies, including bias sputtering.

Fungi play vital roles in ecosystems as endophytes,pathogens and *** current estimate of fungal diversity is highly uncertain,ranging from 1.5 to 12 million,but only around 150,000 species have been named and classified to *** the introduction of DNA based methods for species identification,the number of newly described taxa has increased from approximately 1000 to around 2000 *** demonstrates the importance of DNA based methods to identify and distin-guish species,especially cryptic *** novel species from recent studies have been found in historically understudied regions and habitats,but these still represent only a small percentage of the estimated *** this paper,we examine 16 genera from the top 40 most speciose genera as listed in Species Fungorum as case studies to examine the diversity of taxa in each *** genera treated herein are Cercospora,Diaporthe,Meliola,Passalora,Phyllachora,Phyllosticta,Pseudocer-cospora,Ramularia(ascomycetes)and Cortinarius,Entoloma,Inocybe,Marasmius,Psathyrella,Puccinia,Russula,Uromyces(basidiomycetes).We critically evaluate the number of species in these genera and correlate these numbers with the number of entries in *** introduce 18 new species Apiospora multiloculata,Candolleomyces thailandensis,Cortinarius acutoproximus,Cortinarius melleoalbus,Cortinarius pacificus,Cortinarius parvoacetosus,Diaporthe guizhouensis,Entoloma pseudosubcorvinum,Inocybe meirensongia,Marasmius albulus,Marasmius obscuroaurantiacus,Meliola camporesii,Phyl-lachora siamensis,Phyllosticta doitungensis,Picipes yuxiensis,Pseudocercospora vignae,Puccinia maureanui and Russula *** also introduce a new record of Candolleomyces cladii-marisci and Inocybe *** discuss the genera Colletotrichum and Pleurotus that are speciose,but do not occur in the top *** hypothesize whether there might be more species in these genera and discuss why these genera have some of the largest number of specie

Molecular phylogenies using 1–4 gene regions and information on ecology,morphology and pigment chemistry were used in a partial revision of the agaric family *** phylogenetically supported genera we recognize here in the hygrophoraceae based on these and previous analyses are:Acantholichen,Ampulloclitocybe,Arrhenia,Cantharellula,Cantharocybe,Chromosera,Chrysomphalina,Cora,Corella,Cuphophyllus,Cyphellostereum,Dictyonema,Eonema,Gliophorus,haasiella,humidicutis,hygroaster,hygrocybe,hygrophorus,Lichenomphalia,Neohygrocybe,Porpolomopsis and Pseudoarmillariella.A new genus that is sister to Chromosera is described as *** were made at the ranks of subfamily,tribe,genus,subgenus,section and *** present three new subfamilies,eight tribes(five new),eight subgenera(one new,one new combination and one ***.),26 sections(five new and three new combinations and two ***.)and 14 subsections(two new,two ***.).Species of Chromosera,Gliophorus,humidicutis,and Neohygrocybe are often treated within the genus hygrocybe;we therefore provide valid names in both classification *** used a minimalist approach in transferring genera and creating new names and ***,we retain in the hygrophoraceae the basal cuphophylloid grade comprising the genera Cuphophyllus,Ampulloclitocybe andCantharocybe,despite weak phylogenetic *** include Aeruginospora and Semiomphalina in hygrophoraceae based on morphology though molecular data are *** lower hygrophoroid clade is basal to hygrophoraceae s.s.,comprising the genera Aphroditeola,Macrotyphula,Phyllotopsis,Pleurocybella,Sarcomyxa,Tricholomopsis and Typhula.
