hepatitis B and human immunodeficiency virus(hBV and hIV)infection share transmission patterns and risk factors,which explains high prevalence of chronic hBV infection in hIV infected *** natural course of hBV disease is altered by the hIV infection with less chance to clear acute hBV infection,faster progression to cirrhosis and higher risk of liver-related death in hIVhBV co-infected patients than in hBV mono-infected *** infected patients with chronic hepatitis B should be counseled for liver damage and surveillance of chronic hepatitis B should be performed to screen early hepatocellular *** tools are now available to evaluate liver *** hepatitis B core antibodies(anti-hBc)are a good predictive marker of occult hBV *** the prevalence and significance of occult hBV infection is controversial,but its screening may be important in the management of antiretroviral *** against hBV infection is recommended in non-immune hIV *** optimal treatment for almost all hIV-hBV co-infectedpatients should contain tenofovir plus lamivudine or emtricitabine and treatment should not be stopped to avoid hBV *** term tenofovir therapy may lead to significant decline in hepatitis B surface *** emergence of resistant hBV strains may compromise the hBV therapy and vaccine therapy.

Thermal depolymerisation induced tracking and erosion of polymeric insulators is one of the key insulation failure modes and this process adversely affects the reliability of power delivery *** study reports the tracking,erosion and thermal distribution of micron-AlN and micron-AlN+nano-SiO_(2)co-filled silicone rubber composites.A tracking-erosion model is presented to explain how the co-filled set of particles directly affects such *** nitride(AlN:5-10μm)and silica(SiO_(2):20 nm)particles were procured for fabricating test *** inclined plane test according to IEC 60587 was carried out using tracking voltage method 2 with an initial applied voltage of 3 kV and a ramping rate of 0.25 kV/h over the duration of 240 *** results show co-filled composites exhibit significantly lower physical tracking and erosion as compared to micron-AlN filled *** accumulation and average leakage current in co-filled composites are found noticeably lower than micron-filled ***,the increased surface area of the combined co-filled particles in the composites provides better scattering and reduce secondary electron *** may impede the release of high energy causing thermal degradation.

The aim of this study was to assess the impact of industrial-grade sucrose as external carbon source on post-anoxic denitrification. This was done through the use of lab-scaled Sequencing Batch Reactors （SBRs） modelling after a standard post-anoxic Waste Water Treatment plant （WWTp）. Each reactor holds an effective volume of approximately 4 L, with the decant volume of 2 L per cycle, a hydraulic Retention Time （hRT） of 8 hours, Sludge Retention Time （SRT） of about 11.5 ± 0.5 days. The experiments showed that adding industrial-grade sucrose into the post-anoxic zone has a very significant improvement where the nitrate removal rate increased from 10% to 68%. The experiment also verifies that most of the Specific Denitrification Rate （SDNR） calculated from the lab-scaled SBRs lie within the range of earlier study （2.29-2.85 mgNO3/gMLVSS/h）, and verified the results of both this experiment and the SDNR batch tests in previous study.

An updraft gasifier was employed to treat 3 kg of dried rice husk per batch with different types of gasifying agents such as air,steam/air,and air with dolomite catalyst addition at various operating *** h2 content,low heating value,and h2/CO ratio in syngas were compared to determine the most effective solution to enhance the h2 production from rice husk *** presence of dolomite in air gasification produced the highest h2 content in the product gas,up to 15.4 mol%,followed by 7.08 and 3.6 mol%when steam/air and air standalone were used as gasifying agents,*** higher low heating value of syngas 5.1 MJ/Nm3 was observed in catalytic air gasification compared to 3.6 MJ/Nm3 when steam was *** optimal operation condition was reported at an airflow rate of 3 m3/h and a catalyst mixing ratio of 15%.

Effect of Tannin in Green Tea By-product in Combination with Bio-Char Supplemented into Basal Beef Cattle Diet on Nutrient Digestibility, Methane production and Animal performance

The experiment was conducted by using 20 bulls of Lai Sind cattle (a cross breed between Red Sindhi and local Vietnam yellow cattle) from 15 - 16 months of age, weighed approximately 154 - 156 kg, housed individually with provision of adequate feed trough and free access to water to evaluate the effect of tannin sourced from green tea by-product and addition of bio-char on methane production and animal performance. The experimental diets were formulated by replacing elephant grass in basal diet by bio-char and green tea by-product with the replacement of 0.5 - 1 bio-char and 3% - 5% green tea by-products, respectively to make the content of tannin in the diet of 7.3 g and 12.5 g tannin per kg dry matter. Results from this study revealed that bio-char and green tea by-product included into the diet with different levels had significantly affected on the feed intake, as the increasing level of tannin in the diet tended to increase the feed intake. The inclusion of green tea by-product in the diet which resulted in the content of tannin in the diet of 12.5 g/kg DM had significantly reduced methane emission without altering animal performance, thus the inclusion of 0.5% bio-char and 5% of green tea by-product can be applied in order to mitigate methane emission, thus contributed to environment protection.

青海位于青藏高原，是世界上海拔最高的地区之一，拥有丰富的盐湖资源和独特的生物种质。在冬季，青海盐湖中生长着大量的底栖硅藻。硅藻作为主要的初级生产者，能够促进固碳增汇和土壤硅循环，是优秀的微藻种质资源。采集青海海西自治州尕海盐湖12月份的湖水和底泥样品，处理后分别涂布在不同营养条件的平板上。经多轮纯化，从样品中筛选获得一株着生硅藻。该藻种经稀释涂布在平板上，48 h内快速生长并形成肉眼可见的藻斑。该藻具有较强的抗逆性，能够耐受10%的盐度，可以长期在4 °C的低温下生存。经18S rRNA基因测序并构建系统发育树，鉴别该藻种与一种硅藻Stauroneis latistauros Xmm1W4具有较高同源性，将其命名为Stauroneis sp. S-8。该藻细胞呈细长的舟状，中央区域包含一个明显的大轴区，形态上稍区别于近源藻种。脂肪酸和色素组成分析表明，该藻的二十碳五烯酸(eicosapentaenoic acid， EpA)占总脂肪酸的24%，并含有丰富的岩藻黄素。作为高原盐湖冬季的优良藻种，该藻具有固碳增汇、促进氮和硅循环等生态效应。这一藻种的发现推动了对低温高原地区盐湖微藻资源的认识与开发。

Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza h5N1 virus have occurred in Vietnam since 2003. however, how people got avian h5N1 infection in Northern Vietnam is still unclear. We therefore performed a combination of the serologic assays h5N1 ELISA and h5 western blot to detect anti-h5N1 specific antibodies. Sera samples of 149 subjects with suspected h5N1 infection from three provinces of Northern Vietnam were collected from September 2006 to March 2007. Our results indicated that this combinational assay showed high sensitivity (100%) and specificity (95%) when compared with hemagglutinin inhibition (hI) assay. Fifty-one sera samples (34.2%) contained specific antibodies against h5N1 viruses. poultry raisers (32/77;41.6%) showed higher h5N1 infection rates than slaughterers (12/41;29.3%) and health care workers (7/31;22.6%). Contact history with sick or dead poultry in household or slaughter-house (p protective equipment use when in contact with dead poultry (p h h5N1 infection. In this study, we established an alternative serologic assay for h5N1 diagnosis, and we hereby present seroepidemiologic data of h5N1 infection in Northern Vietnam.
