The Strange Fate of Marxist Civil Society Discourse in Japan and China

Since the fall of the Soviet bloc and the various transformations in China since the late 1980s and early 1990s, scholars in both China and other regions have begun to use the term ＂civil society＂ to denote a realm of political practice separate from the state. Even today, the Chinese philosophy professor han Lixin uses the term to denote future possibilities for China. however, unlike earlier works on civil society that attempt to guide China through Western liberal theory, han explicitly draws on the Japanese ＂civil society Marxists,＂ such as hirata Kiyoaki and Mochizuki Seiji. This essay in some ways mimics han＇s attempt to bring together Japanese Marxist theory and contemporary Chinese reality, but claims that reexamining theories of civil society in Japan should lead us to emphasize the logic of capital in understanding Chinese society and envisioning a future for socialism. The essay introduces the complex theorization of civil society by an often overlooked Marxist, Kakehashi Akihide. Kakehashi explicitly grasps civil society in relation to more fundamental categories in Marx＇s work, such as the commodity form. In this way, he points the way to a deeper understanding of the dynamic of capitalism and by extension the history of particular regions of the world, such as China. however, in the 1960s and early 1970s when the ＂civil society Marxists＂ hirata Kiyoaki and Mochizuki Seiji popularized their reading of Marx, they focused on civil society as a moment of liberation without stressing the totalizing dynamic of capitalism. The essay discusses han＇s use of hirata and Mochizuki, before returning to the problem of how thinking of capitalism as a totalizing dynamic could further illuminate issues of post-1949 and contemporary China. We consider the numerical solution by finite difference methods of the heat equation in one space dimension, with a nonlocal integral boundary condition, resulting from the truncation to a finite interval of the problem on a semi-infinite interval. We first analyze the forward Euler method, and then the 0-method for 0 〈 θ ≤ 1, in both cases in maximum-norm, showing O（h2 ＋ k） error bounds, where h is the mesh-width and k the time step. We then give an alternative analysis for the case θ= 1/2, the Crank-nicolson method, using energy arguments, yielding a O（h2 ＋ k3/2） error bound. Special attention is given the approximation of the boundary integral operator. Our results are illustrated by numerical examples.

Vanadium-Doped Magnesium Oxide nanoparticles Formation in Presence of Ionic Liquids and Their Use in Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue

Magnesium oxide（MgO） is one of the metal oxides having unique properties with numerous potential industrial *** this study,MgO and vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles were synthesized by sol–gel method in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIM][BF_4] and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [OMIM][BF_4] ionic ***-doped MgO nanoparticles exhibited nanosphere and nanorod morphologies with 40–80 nm in particle size,primarily due to the influence of ionic liquids as demonstrated by high-resolution scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** of nanoparticles were also studied by thermal gravimetric analysis,X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray *** ability of synthesized nanoparticles was evaluated for methylene blue（MB） in specially designed UV *** is found to be dependent on doping,and particle characteristics change due to the influence of ionic *** ionic liquid-assisted vanadium-doped MgO nanoparticles showed good reusability under UV irradiation and MB degradation ability under visible light.

Design of a two spool contra-rotating turbine for a turbo-fan engine

Contra-rotating turbines offer enhanced performance over their conventional corotating *** addition,vaneless contra-rotating turbine stages offer lesser stage length along with improved ***-rotating turbines with a vaned LP stages offer a controlled work-split between the stages over a wider range of operating conditions by maintaining inlet swirl to the second *** objective of the present work is to design an equivalent vaned contra-rotating turbine for an existing co-rotating configuration of a two-spool turbo fan *** contra-rotating turbine is designed by retaining the existing flow path and hP turbine,and redesigning the LP turbine for fixed radial distributions of inlet total temperature,pressure and swirl.A comparative study between performance of the co-rotating and contra-rotating turbines is carried out for different *** testing of the LP stator and rotor mean sections was carried out to validate the *** LP stage of contra-rotating turbine exhibits a performance improvement by 2%points at design point,as per flow *** reduced flow deflection in stator row is the primary reason for significant reduction in profile and secondary losses in contra-rotating turbine,which contributed to the performance improvement.A significant reduction of 23%in blade weight and 45% in LP stator vane count is obtained.

《仁学》在西方学者眼中是中国历史上最早以中国古典文献对现代西方哲学和科学框架重新诠释的作品,在中国学者笔下这是近代中国新儒学哲学体系融入现代性全球主义的一次大胆尝试,以求能与当时的国际社会在同一维度上对话。然而《仁学》中谭嗣同以其进化最终带来自由的乐观本体论为导向,援引佛教和道教中对有限性的传统解决方案,提出了超越时间的绝对平等观,这一观念遭到了章太炎的批驳。在章太炎看来,进化最终没有超越混沌,相反,它起源于时间世界,且必须有法律之限制,即基于法之平等与等级,官员和国家试图在此基础上将突发事件和混沌合理化。通过对二人不同哲学观的梳理与对比,清晰反映了那一时期的士人对近代中国传统儒家哲学观念转向的尝试与辩论,这对于归纳传统中国儒家的哲学理念具有一定的参考价值与意义。

目的对比分析不同时期住院治疗的颅内动脉瘤患者的临床资料,探讨入院后动脉瘤再破裂率下降的可能原因.方法回顾性纳入2005年1月至2008年12月（2005～2008年组,458例）和2013年1月至2014年12月（2013～2014年组,1 446例）四川大学华西医院神经外科收治的颅内动脉瘤性蛛网膜下腔出血（aSAh）患者.比较2组患者入院后动脉瘤的再破裂率,分析年龄、性别、hunt-hess分级、入院的收缩压、是否使用抗纤溶药物、动脉瘤部位、院前等待时间、术前等待时间及总体住院时间等指标对动脉瘤再破裂的影响.结果 2005～2008年组入院后动脉瘤的再破裂率为13.8％（63/458）,2013 ～ 2014年组为2.8％（40/1 446）,差异有统计学意义（P＜0.01）.2005～2008年组与2013～2014年组院前等待时间中位数（四分位数间距）分别为4（9）、1（4）d;术前等待时间分别为5（4）、3（2）d;整体住院时间分别为14（9）、11（7）d,差异均有统计学意义（均P＜0.01）.其余指标比较差异均无统计学意义（均P ＞0.05）.结论提高动脉瘤处理效率是减少入院后再破裂风险及提高患者预后的重要手段.

Magnetic ferrite/carbonized cotton fiber composites for improving electromagnetic absorption properties at gigahertz frequencies

Ferrite/carbon composited materials,especially the bio-derived composited materials possessing both environmental friendliness and outstanding microwave absorption performance,attract numerous attentions for solving the"electromagnetic problem"in the Gigahertz frequency *** this work,we demonstrate a bio-derived ferrite/carbon material by compositing functional carbonized cotton fibers(CCFs)and Fe_(3)O_(4)nanoparticles with optimized microwave-absorption *** adjusting the carbonization conditions systematically,the Fe_(3)O_(4)loading contents and the microwave absorption properties can be varied simultaneously-and,indeed,optimized and *** CCFs-Fe_(3)O_(4)composites exhibited a minimum reflection-loss capacity RL(d B)of-56.8 d B at 10.9 Ghz with a thickness of 1.67 mm,and its effective absorption bandwidth(RL(d B)nd to broaden to 7.1 *** characterizations,coupled with microstructure analyses,revealed that the enhancement in microwave absorption was triggered by the different microstructures of CCFs-Fe_(3)O_(4)composites-attributable to the different carbonization *** different conditions result in different amounts of Fe_(3)O_(4)attachment sites and lead to the enhancement of dielectric polarization at localized *** present work of bio-derived ferrite/carbon materials has important implications in understanding structure-performance relationships in dielectric-magnetic materials,and,meanwhile,could well be extended to a microwave-absorber design approach.

Prediction of Compressive Strength of Self-Compacting Concrete Using Intelligent Computational Modeling

In the present scenario,computational modeling has gained much importance for the prediction of the properties of *** paper depicts that how computational intelligence can be applied for the prediction of compressive strength of Self Compacting Concrete(SCC).Three models,namely,Extreme Learning Machine(ELM),Adaptive neuro Fuzzy Inference System(AnFIS)and Multi Adaptive Regression Spline(MARS)have been employed in the present study for the prediction of compressive strength of self compacting *** contents of cement(c),sand(s),coarse aggregate(a),fly ash(f),water/powder(w/p)ratio and superplasticizer(sp)dosage have been taken as inputs and 28 days compressive strength(fck)as output for ELM,AnFIS and MARS models.A relatively large set of data including 80 normalized data available in the literature has been taken for the study.A comparison is made between the results obtained from all the above-mentioned models and the model which provides best fit is *** experimental results demonstrate that proposed models are robust for determination of compressive strength of self-compacting concrete.
