The present study was conducted to evaluate the impact of bimetallic nanoparticles(NPs)of copper(Cu)and zinc(Zn)from Crotalaria longirostrata on the insect mortality and cell viability of Phenacoccus *** biosynthesis of bimetallic nanoparticles(Cu/Zn-NPs)from *** was confirmed by the presence of a single peak around 378 *** hydrodynamic diameter of the Cu/Zn nanoparticles varied from 59 to 119 nm and their zeta potential was found to be−30.90 *** EDX analysis showed a strong signal for Cu and Zn(8 and 8.6 keV,respectively).The Cu/Zn-NPs showed an effective insecticide activity against *** with 63%of insect mortality after 96 h ***,further studies about nanotoxicity of Cu/Zn-NPs from *** are needed to reveal the exact mechanism of nanoparticles toxicity in insects.

This study aimed review studies conducted on Mexican patients diagnosed with gastric cancer and/or diseases associated with its development,in which at least one Mexican institute has participated,and to assess their contributions to the primary and secondary prevention of this disease.A search of the Medline database was conducted using the following keywords:gastric/stomach cancer,*** of the Mexican population were selected in which at least one Mexican Institute had participated and where the findings could support public policy proposals directed towards the primary or secondary prevention of gastric *** the148 studies found in the Medline database,100 were discarded and 48 were *** to the analysis presented,these studies were classified as:epidemiology of gastric cancer(5/48);risk factors and protectors relating to gastric cancer(9/48);relationship between helicobacter pylori and pathologies associated with gastric cancer and the development of the disease(16/48);relationship between the Epstein-Barr virus and pathologies associated with gastric cancer and the development of the disease(3/48);molecular markers for the development of diseases associated with gastric cancer and gastric cancer(15/48).Mexico requires a program for the prevention and control of gastric cancer based on national health *** should be produced by a multidisciplinary committee of experts who can propose actions that are relevant in the current national *** few studies of gastric cancer conducted on the Mexican population in national institutes highlight the poor connection that currently exists between the scientific community and the health sector in terms of resolving this health *** policies for health research should support projects with findings that can be translated into benefits for the *** review serves to identify national research groups studying gastric cancer in the Mexican population.

MYB34, MYB51, and MYB122 transcription factors are known as decisive regulators of indolic glucosinolate （IG） biosynthesis with a strong impact on expression of genes encoding CYP79B2 and CYP79B3 enzymes that redundantly convert tryptophan to indole-3-acetaldoxime （IAOx）. This intermediate represents a branching point for IG biosynthesis, and pathways leading to camalexin and indole-carboxylic acids （ICA）. here we investigate how these MYBs affect the pathogen-triggered Trp metabolism. Our experiments indicated that these three MYBs affect not only IG production but also constitutive biosynthesis of other IAOx- derived metabolites. Strikingly, the PENETRATION 2 （PEN2）-dependent IG-metabolism products, which are absent in myb34/51/122 and pen2 mutants, were indispensable for full flg22-mediated induction of other IAOx-dedved compounds. however, germ induction and accumulation of ICAs and camalexin upon path- ogen infection was not compromised in myb34/51/122 plants, despite strongly reduced IG levels. hence, in comparison with cyp79B2/B3, which lacks all IAOx-derived metabolites, we found myb34/51/122 an ideal tool to analyze IG contribution to resistance against the necrotrophic fungal pathogen Plectosphaerella cucumerina. The susceptibility of myb34/51/122 was similar to that of pen2, but much lower than susceptibility of cyp79B2/B3, indicating that MYB34/51/122 contribute to resistance toward P. cucumerina exclu- sively through IG biosynthesis, and that PEN2 is the main leaf myrosinase activating IGs in response to microbial pathogens.

The influence of obesity duration on left ventricular mass, volume and function: A pilot study

Introduction: Despite the bulk of evidence between obesity and cardiovascular complications, the effect of the duration of obesity (DOO) on cardiac function has so far received limited attention. The aim of the study is to study the relationship between a new, American heart Association (AhA) and World health Organization (WhO)-adapted formula for reporting DOO with echocardiographic findings and comorbidities in a large cohort of individuals whose BMI ranged from normal (·m﹣2) to morbid obesity (>40 Kg·m﹣2) and had been obese for varying lengths of time. Methods: 198 (M60/F138) asymptomatic patients were recruited. Patients were classified according to their reported DOO. The normal weight group (N = 92 (40/F52) was formed by those patients who did not recall maintaining a BMI > 30 Kg·m﹣2 from age 18 while those recalling maintenance of a BMI > 30 Kg·m﹣2 since age 18 and thereafter formed the obese group (N = 106 (M20/F86)). A detailed clinical, echo-cardiographic and analytical study was performed. Results: DOO in our series disclosed a significant correlation with left ventricular architecture and hemodynamics, left ventricular mass, cardiac output as well as the prevalence of diabetes mellitus, hypertension and insulin resistance. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that almost 54% of the interventricular septum thickness’s variance can be independently predicted by a model including DOO, gender, hypertension and logtransformed hOMA. Conclusions: Our formula for estimating the duration of obesity provides a simple, user-friendly tool whose utilization in bariatric preoperative assessments and in advanced nursing practice deserves prospective studies.

A photonic lab on a chip(PhLOC),comprising a solid-state light emitter(SSLE)aligned with a biofunctionalized optofluidic multiple internal reflection(MIR)system,is *** SSLE is obtained by filling a microfluidic structure with a phenyltrimethoxysilane(PhTMOS)aqueous sol solution containing a fluorophore organic *** curing,the resulting xerogel solid structure retains the emitting properties of the fluorophore,which is evenly distributed in the xerogel *** studies demonstrate that after a total dose(at λ5365 nm)greater than 24 J cm^(-2),the xerogel emission decay is only 4.1%.To re-direct the emitted light,the SSLE includes two sets of air mirrors that surround the *** mapping of the SSLE demonstrates that alignment variations of 150 mm(between the SSLE and the external pumping light source)provide fluctuations in emitted light smaller than 5%.After this verification,the SSLE is monolithically implemented with a MIR,forming the *** performance is assessed by measuring quinolone yellow,obtaining a limit of detection(LOD)of(0.6060.01)***,the MIR is selectively biofunctionalized with horseradish peroxidase(hRP)for the detection of hydrogen peroxide(h_(2)O_(2))target analyte,obtaining a LOD of(0.760.1)μM for h_(2)O_(2),confirming,for the first time,that solid-state xerogel-based emitters can be massively implemented in biofunctionalized PhLOCs.

Structural health monitoring (ShM) is a relevant topic for civil systems and involves the monitoring, data processing and interpretation to evaluate the condition of a structure, in order to detect damage. In real structures, two or more sites or types of damage can be present at the same time. It has been shown that one kind of damaged condition can interfere with the detection of another kind of damage, leading to an incorrect assessment about the structure condition. Identifying combined damage on structures still represents a challenge for condition monitoring, because the reliable identification of a combined damaged condition is a difficult task. Thus, this work presents a fusion of methodologies, where a single wavelet-packet and the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method are combined with artificial neural networks (ANNs) for the automated and online identification-location of single or multiple-combined damage in a scaled model of a five-bay truss-type structure. Results showed that the proposed methodology is very efficient and reliable for identifying and locating the three kinds of damage, as well as their combinations. Therefore, this methodology could be applied to detection-location of damage in real truss-type structures, which would help to improve the characteristics and life span of real structures.
