TOXICITY OF TWO hERBICIDES 2,4-D DImEThYLAmINE AND BENSULFURON mEThYL TO RICE FIELD ChIRONOmUS KIIENSIS (TOKUNAGA) (DIPTERA:ChIRONOmIDAE)

Fourth instar larvae of Chironomus kiiensis (Tokunaga) were exposed to various concentrations of two commonly used herbicides: 2,4 - D Dimethylamine and Bensulfuron methyl in the rice fields. The bioassay experiment was carried out in a rearing unit in the laboratory at a room temperature ((27 ±2) °C). A thin layer of sand sediments and tissue papers were provided as substrate in each unit. Each concentration of all herbicides was prepared in 250 mL distilled water. The experiment was performed in triplicate and 20 chironomid larvae were placed in each rearing unit. The larvae were fed with fish food (Sanyuichiban®) at 2 d intervals and all units were aerated by air pumps. The experiment was monitored every 24 h for mortality of C. kiiensis. The 2,4 - D Dimethylamine bioassay was carried out for 24 h while Bensulfuron methyl was run for 72 h. Dead larvae, pupae and living or dead adults were counted and removed daily. The LC50 of 2,4 - D Dimethylamine was 2 638 mg ai L-1, more than 2 000 times higher than the recommended dose of 0.753 mg ai L-1 used for controlling weeds in the rice field. Bensulfuron methyl was more toxic than the 2,4 - D Dimethylamine. The LC 50 of the Bensulfuron methyl was recorded at 1.29 mg ai L -1, and approximately was more 20 times than that of the recommended dose of 0.057 mg ai L-1. Bensulfuron methyl was found to be slow acting. The mortality of the larvae was only observed after 72 h. however, this herbicide interfered with the emergence of C. kiiensis to adults at and above the recommended dose used in the rice fields. Based on their LC50 values, this study showed that applying these herbicides in the rice fields at doses recommended by the manufacturers was safe for C. kiiensis and presumably to other living organisms in the water.

Design and Analysis of mEmS Based Aluminum Nitride (AlN), Lithium Niobate (LiNbO<sub>3</sub>) and Zinc Oxide (ZnO) Cantilever with Different Substrate materials for Piezoelectric Vibration Energy harvesters Using COmSOL multiphysics Software

Interest in energy harvesters has grown rapidly over the last decade. The cantilever shaped piezoelectric energy harvesting beam is one of the most employed designs, due to its simplicity and flexibility for further performance enhancement. The research effort in the mEmS Piezoelectric vibration energy harvester designed using three types of cantilever materials, Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3), Aluminum Nitride (AlN) and Zinc Oxide (ZnO) with different substrate materials: aluminum, steel and silicon using COmSOL multiphysics package were designed and analyzed. Voltage, mechanical power and electrical power versus frequency for different cantilever materials and substrates were modeled and simulated using Finite element method (FEm). The resonant frequencies of the LiNbO3/Al, AlN/Al and ZnO/Al systems were found to be 187.5 hz, 279.5 hz and 173.5 hz, respectively. We found that ZnO/Al system yields optimum voltage and electrical power values of 8.2 V and 2.8 mW, respectively. For ZnO cantilever on aluminum, steel and silicon substrates, we found the resonant frequencies to be 173.5 hz, 170 hz and 175 hz, respectively. Interestingly, ZnO/steel yields optimal voltage and electrical power values of 9.83 V and 4.02 mW, respectively. Furthermore, all systems were studied at different differentiate frequencies. We found that voltage and electrical power have increased as the acceleration has increased.

In this study,nitrogen doped electrochemically exfoliated reduced graphene oxide and carbon black supported platinum(Pt/Nr EGO_(2)-CB_(3))has been prepared to enhance the performance and durability of hightemperature PEmFCs with lower Pt *** the one hand,Pt/Nr EGO_(2)-CB_(3)with the strong interaction between the Pt and nitrogen(N)prevent agglomeration of Pt particles and Pt particles is 5.46±1.46 nm,which is smaller than that of 6.78±1.34 nm in Pt/***,ECSA of Pt/Nr EGO_(2)-CB_(3)decrease 13.65%after AST,which is much lower than that of 97.99%in Pt/*** the other hand,the Nr EGO flakes in mEAac act as a barrier to mitigate phosphoric acid redistribution,which improves the formation of triple-phase boundaries(TPBs)and gives stable operation of the mEAacwith a lower decay rate of 0.02 mV h^(-1)within100 *** steady-state operation,the maximum power density of Pt/Nr EGO_(2)-CB_(3)(0.411 W cm^(-2))is three times higher than that of conventional Pt/C(0.134 W cm^(-2))in high-temperature *** AST,the mass transfer resistance of Pt/Nr EGO_(2)-CB_(3)electrode(0.560Ωcm^(2))is lower than that in Pt/C(0.728Ωcm^(2)).

BDNF Overexpression Enhances the Preconditioning Effect of Brief Episodes of hypoxia,Promoting Survival of GABAergic Neurons

以Bt基因来源于中国的棉花品种泗抗1号(常规种)、泗抗3号(杂交种)和来源于美国的棉花品种99B(常规棉)、岱杂1号(杂交棉)为材料,研究了不同高温水平下Bt棉盛铃期铃壳中Bt蛋白含量变化及氮代谢生理特征.结果表明:铃壳中Bt蛋白含量随温度升高而降低,与对照相比(32℃),常规棉品种在38℃、杂交棉品种在40℃以上时,铃壳中Bt蛋白含量大幅度下降.其中,常规种泗抗1号和99B在38℃时分别下降53.0%和69.5%;杂交种泗抗3号和岱杂1号在40℃时下降64.8%和54.1%.铃壳Bt杀虫蛋白含量下降显著时,其可溶性蛋白含量明显下降,游离氨基酸含量明显提高,GPT活性显著下降,蛋白酶活性显著增加.高温影响铃壳的氮代谢引起Bt蛋白的分解加剧,合成减弱,从而造成Bt蛋白含量减少,抗虫性下降.

研究热源和体力作用下的横观各向同性厚板的二维问题,板的上表面无应力作用,但有规定的表面温度作用;板的下表面置于刚性基础之上,并处于绝热状态.采用Green和Naghdi提出的广义热弹性理论,通过Laplace和Fourier双重变换,在Laplace-Fourier变换域中,得到位移和温度场的控制方程.数值求解双重变换的逆变换,采用一个基于Fourier级数展开的方法,数值地求解Laplace变换的逆变换.对材料镁(mg)进行数值计算,并用图形表示其结果.推演出各向同性材料铜(Cu)的数值结果,并用图形与横观各向同性材料镁进行比较.同时研究了体力的影响.
