MethylGenotyper:Accurate Estimation of SNP Genotypes and Genetic Relatedness from DNA Methylation Data

Epigenome-wide association studies(EWAS)are susceptible to widespread confounding caused by population structure and genetic ***,kinship estimation is challenging in EWAS without genotyping ***,we proposed MethylGenotyper,a method that for the first time enables accurate genotyping at thousands of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)directly from commercial DNA methylation *** modeled the intensities of methylation probes near SNPs with a mixture of three beta distributions corresponding to different genotypes and estimated parameters with an expectation-maximization *** conducted extensive simulations to demonstrate the performance of the *** applying MethylGenotyper to the Infinium EPIC array data of 4662 Chinese samples,we obtained genotypes at 4319 SNPs with a concordance rate of 98.26%,enabling the identification of 255 pairs of close ***,we showed that MethylGenotyper allows for the estimation of both population structure and cryptic relatedness among 702 Australians of diverse *** also implemented MethylGenotyper in a publicly available R package(https://***/Yi-jiang/MethylGenotyper)to facilitate future large-scale EWAS.

Thermal decomposition and cobalt species transformation of carbon nanotubes supported cobalt catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

The effect of calcination condition on the cobalt species and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis （FTS） was studied. It was found that higher calcination temperature resulted in decreased FTS activities because CNTs were consumed by oxidation in air at temperature higher than 230 ℃. Cobalt species went through transformation from Co304 to metallic Co in Ar by autoreduction at temperature over 500℃. The autoreduction route might be Co3O4→CoO→C0 or Co3O4→Co2C→Co. Reduction at temperature higher than 500 ℃ also resulted in decreased FTS activities due to the methanation of CNTs in hydrogen.

Three-dimensional niche partitioning between two colonially nesting ardeid species in central China

Background:Interspecific competition is known to be strongest between those species that are both closely related and *** are colonially nesting wetland birds that often overlap and can therefore be expected to compete in roosting and nesting habitat as well as in *** to the niche partitioning hypothesis,it is to be expected that these similar species would show differentiation in at least one of the main niche dimensions to reduce *** tested niche partitioning between the colonially nesting little Egret(Egretta garzetta)and Cattle Egret(Bubulcus ibis)in temporal,spatial and trophic ***:Field study was conducted in three mixed egret colonies in Yangxian County,southwest Shaanxi Prov-ince,central *** each nest colony we recorded its spatial location,the height of nesting trees and of nests,the height of roosting trees and of roosting individuals within the *** determined the first egg-laying and first hatching dates of the two *** dissection of storm-killed egret nestlings was used to measure the *** transects were surveyed to study foraging habitat ***:We found that hatching time of little Egrets peaked earlier(by about 1 month)than that of Cattle *** Egrets nested and roosted higher than little *** foraging habitats used by little Egrets were dominated by river banks(73.49%),followed by paddy fields(13.25%)and reservoirs(10.84%),whereas Cattle Egret foraging sites were characterized by grasslands(44.44%),paddy fields(33.33%)and river banks(22.22%).little Egrets consumed more fishes(65.66%)and Odonata larvae(13.69%)than Cattle Egrets,while Cattle Egrets were found feeding mainly on Coleoptera(29.69%)and Orthoptera(23.29%).little Egrets preyed on larger mean biomasses of food items than Cattle ***:Our results confirm the niche partitioning hypothesis as a mechanism for coexistence among ecologi-cally similar *** two coexisting egret species,

Microstructural evolution during the progressive transformation-induced plasticity effect in a Fe–0.1C–5Mnmedium manganese steel

The microstructural evolution of a cold-rolled and intercritical annealed medium-Mn steel(Fe–0.10C–5Mn) was investigated during uniaxial tensile testing. In-situ observations under scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis were conducted to characterize the progressive transformation-induced plasticity process and associated fracture initiation mechanisms. These findings were discussed with the local strain measurements via digital image correlation. The results indicated that lüders band formation in the steel was limited to 1.5% strain, which was mainly due to the early-stage martensitic phase transformation of a very small amount of the less stable large-sized retained austenite(RA), which led to localized stress concentrations and strain hardening and further retardation of yielding. The small-sized RA exhibited high stability and progressively transformed into martensite and contributed to a stably extended Portevin–le Chatelier effect. The volume fraction of RA gradually decreased from 26.8% to 8.2%prior to fracture. In the late deformation stage, fracture initiation primarily occurred at the austenite/martensite and ferrite/martensite interfaces and the ferrite phase.

Deciphering the molecular mechanisms of Simiaowan in the treatment of hyperuricemia: in vivo and in silico approaches

Background:Simiaowan(SMW),a well-known traditional Chinese medicine,has been employed to treat hyperuricemia(hUA)and gout for ***,the bioactive components and underlying mechanisms have not been *** objective of this study was to identify the active components and potential mechanisms of SMW by integrating pharmacological experimentation,serum pharmacochemistry,network pharmacology and molecular ***:hUA rats modelling by high-fat/high-sugar diet and potassium oxonate/adenine oral administration were used to evaluate the pharmacodynamic effects of ***-Q-Exactive-MS/MS was employed to detect the bioactive components present in SMW-containing *** pharmacology and molecular docking were utilized to elucidate the potential targets and underlying ***:SMW effectively ameliorated hUA rats via the inhibition of uric acid(UA)production,promotion of UA excretion,improvement of lipid and glucose metabolic abnormalities,antioxidant,anti-inflammatory and anti-insulin resistance effects.A total of 73 compounds detected in SMW-containing serum were identified as potential active components,with alkaloids,flavonoids,organic acids,and terpenoids emerging as the primary active *** 203 corresponding targets were obtained as SMW anti-hUA/gout targets,which mainly participated in apoptosis,insulin resistance,TNF,PI3K-Akt,hIF-1,NF-κB,MAPK,Il-17 and TlR signaling *** docking indicated that active compounds(***,phellodendrine,quercetin,formononetin,ferulic acid)had superior binding abilities to the key targets(*** carrier family 22 member 12(URAT1),solute carrier family 22 member 6(OAT1),ATP-binding cassette sub-family G member 2(ABCG2),solute carrier family 2,facilitated glucose transporter member 9(GlUT9),xanthine dehydrogenase/oxidase(XDh),transcription factor p65(RElA),toll-like receptor 4(TlR4),prostaglandin G/h synthase 2(PTGS2),caspase-3(CASP3),insulin(INS)).Conclusion:S

Ta / NiFe/Bi （ Ag, Cu ）/FeMn/Ta and Ta / NiFe1/FeMn / Bi （ Ag, Cu ）/NiFen/Ta films were prepared by magnetic sputtering. The texture and the dependences of the exchange-coupling field on the thickness of Bi, Ag, and Cu in Ta/NiFe/Bi（Ag, Cu） /FeMn/Ta and Ta/NiFe/FeMn/Bi（Ag, Cu）/NiFe/Ta films were studied. XPS results indicate that the Bi atoms migrated into the FeMn layer during the deposition process and a FeMnBi alloy was probably formed or the Bi atoms existed as an impurity in the FeMn layer in Ta/NiFe/Bi（Ag, Cu ）/FeMn/Ta. Otherwise, in Ta/NiFe/FeMn/Bi （Ag, Cu）/NiFe/Ta films, Bi, Ag, and Cu atoms do not remain entirely at the interface of the FeMn/ NiFeⅡfilm, but at least partly segregate to the surface of the NiFe film.

Guidance on Design of Internet-based Process Control Systems

Internet-based process control is becoming new generations of control systems, in which the Internet is used as a platform for global remote monitoring and control. The obvious benefit is to enable global collaboration between operators from geographically dispersed locations, data sharing and data provision for remote monitoring and control. however, connection to an open network and the use of universal technology present new problems that did not exist with the conventional design and construction of control systems, such as time delay and data loss in Internet transmission and security. This paper reviews the latest research results and presents design guidance of Internet based monitoring and control systems.

Enhanced debromination of 2,2’,4,4’-tetrabromodiphenyl ether(BDE-47)by zero-valent zinc with ascorbic acid

A new technique of zero-valent zinc coupled with ascorbic acid(ZVZ/AA)was developed and applied to debrominate the 2,2,,4,4,-Tetrabromodiphenyl ether(BDE-47),which achieved high conversion and rapid debromination of BDE-47 to less-or non-toxic *** reaction conditions were optimized by the addition of 100 mg/l Z V Z particles and 3 mmol/l A A at original solution p h=4.00 using the solvent of methanol/h2O(v:v=4:6),which could convert approximately 94%of 5 mg/l BDE-47 into lower-brominated diphenyl ethers within a 90 min at the ZVZ/AA *** high debromination of BDE-47 was mainly attributed to the effect of A A that inhibits the formation of Zn(Ⅱ)(hydr)oxide passivation layers and promotes the corrosion of ZVZ,which leads to increase the reactivity of ***,ion chromatography and gas chromatography mass spectrometry analyses revealed that bromine ion and lower-debromination diphenyl ethers formed during the reduction of ***,based on the generation of the intermediates products,and its concentration changes over time,it was proposed that the dominant pathway for conversion of BDE-47 was sequential debromination and the final products were diphenyl *** results suggested that the ZVZ/AA system has the potential for highly efficient debromination of BDE-47 from wastewater.
