Multi-pass slab vertical-horizontal （V-h） rolling process with variable edging roll shape have been simulated with explicit dynamic finite element method and updating geometric method. The distributions of plastic strain contour in slab daring rolling process with different edging roll and under different rolling stage have been obtained. The results show that there exist two thin strain assembling zones in slab when the flat edging roll is used, and there just exist one strain assembling zone in slab when the edging roll with groove is used. And compared the deformation equality between flat edging roll and edging roll with groove, the lateris better than the former, which supplies the theory prove to the slab deformation distribution during V-h rolling process and is helpful for predicting the slab texture.

Monolayer molybdenum disulfide(MoS2)has a honeycomb crystal ***,with considering the triangular sublattice of molybdenum atoms,a simple tight-binding hamiltonian is introduced(derived)for studying the phase transition and topological superconductivity in MoS2 under uniaxial *** is shown that spin-singlet p+ip wave phase is a topological superconducting phase with nonzero Chern *** the chemical potential is greater(smaller)than the spin-orbit coupling(SOC)strength,the Chern number is equal to four(two)and otherwise it is equal to ***,the results show that,if the superconductivity energy gap is smaller than the SOC strength and the chemical potential is greater than the SOC strength,the zero energy Majorana states ***,we show that the topological superconducting phase is preserved under uniaxial strain.

This work is concerned with the peristaltic transport of the Johnson-Segalman fluid in an asymmetric channel with convective boundary conditions. The mathematical modeling is based upon the conservation laws of mass, linear momentum, and energy. The resulting equations are solved after long wavelength and low Reynolds number are used. The results for the axial pressure gradient, velocity, and temperature profiles are obtained for small Weissenberg number. The expressions of the pressure gra-dient, velocity, and temperature are analyzed for various embedded parameters. Pumping and trapping phenomena are also explored.

Peripheral nerve injuries induce a severe motor and sensory deficit. Since the availability of autologous nerve transplants for nerve repair is very limited, alternative treatment strategies are sought, including the use of tubular nerve guidance conduits(tNGCs). however, the use of tNGCs results in poor functional recovery and central necrosis of the regenerating tissue, which limits their application to short nerve lesion defects(typically shorter than 3 cm). Given the importance of vascularization in nerve regeneration, we hypothesized that enabling the growth of blood vessels from the surrounding tissue into the regenerating nerve within the tNGC would help eliminate necrotic processes and lead to improved regeneration. In this study, we reported the application of macroscopic holes into the tubular walls of silk-based tNGCs and compared the various features of these improved silk^(+) tNGCs with the tubes without holes(silk^(–) tNGCs) and autologous nerve transplants in an 8-mm sciatic nerve defect in rats. Using a combination of micro-computed tomography and histological analyses, we were able to prove that the use of silk^(+) tNGCs induced the growth of blood vessels from the adjacent tissue to the intraluminal neovascular formation. A significantly higher number of blood vessels in the silk^(+) group was found compared with autologous nerve transplants and silk^(–), accompanied by improved axon regeneration at the distal coaptation point compared with the silk^(–) tNGCs at 7 weeks postoperatively. In the 15-mm(critical size) sciatic nerve defect model, we again observed a distinct ingrowth of blood vessels through the tubular walls of silk^(+) tNGCs, but without improved functional recovery at 12 weeks postoperatively. Our data proves that macroporous tNGCs increase the vascular supply of regenerating nerves and facilitate improved axonal regeneration in a short-defect model but not in a critical-size defect model. In this paper, we study the scattering properties of s-wave Schrdinger equation for the multi-parameter potential,which can be reduced into four special cases for different values of potential parameters, i.e., hulthn, Manning–Rosen,and Eckart potentials. We also obtain and investigate the scattering amplitudes of these special cases. Some numerical results are also obtained and reported.

The cluster-shaped plasmonic nanostructures are used to manage the incident light inside an ultra-thin silicon solar *** we simulate spherical,conical,pyramidal,and cylindrical nanoparticles in a form of a cluster at the rear side of a thin silicon cell,using the finite difference time domain(FDTD)*** calculating the optical absorption and hence the photocurrent,it is shown that the clustering of nanoparticles significantly improves *** photocurrent enhancement is the result of the plasmonic effects of clustering the *** comparison,first a cell with a single nanoparticle at the rear side is *** four smaller nanoparticles are put around it to make a *** photocurrents of 20.478 mA/cm2,23.186 mA/cm2,21.427 mA/cm2,and 21.243 mA/cm2 are obtained for the cells using clustering conical,spherical,pyramidal,cylindrical NPs at the backside,*** values are 13.987 mA/cm2,16.901 mA/cm2,16.507 mA/cm2,17.926 mA/cm2 for the cell with one conical,spherical,pyramidal,cylindrical NPs at the backside,***,clustering can significantly improve the ***,the distribution of the electric field and the generation rate for the proposed structures are calculated.

An approach is presented to characterize the stress response of workpiece in hard machining, accounted for the effect of the initial workpiece hardness, temperature, strain and strain rate on flow stress. AISI h13 work tool steel was chosen to verify this methodology. The proposed flow stress model demonstrates a good agreement with data collected from published experiments. Therefore, the proposed model can be used to predict the corresponding flow stress-strain response of AISI h13 work tool steel with variation of the initial workpiece hardness in hard machining.

Objective:To assess the prevalence of malaria parasitemia in north-east Nigeria and to evaluate the measures for the prevention of ***:A village in north-eastern Nigeria was selected for the cross sectional study at the height of the rainy season in October 2011.A total of 550 inhabitants of a hamlet were recruited for this *** obtaining the consent individuals received a structured interview and were tested for malaria parasites in their blood *** testing positive for malaria were given a course of artemesinin-based combination therapy（ACT）.Results:A total of 497 inhabitants representing approximately 90 percent of the population participated:a quarter of the study group carried malaria parasitesexclusively Plasmodium falciparum（***）-representing a *** parasite rate（PfPR） of 24.5%.Besides,53/138 in the age group of 2 to hildren tested positive for *** representing a PfPR2-10 value of 38.4%.Malaria control measures were used in just under a third（157/497） of this *** these measures 28/157（17.8%） still tested positive for ***:The malaria burden is overestimated for this region in north-east *** findings support an intermediate pattern of malaria *** 30%bed nets coverage for malaria control is well below the WhO estimates for 2011.

Flow over yawed and unyawed blunt bodies often occurs in various engineeringapplications. The fluid flow over a yawed cylinder explains the practical significance of subseaapplications such as transference control, separating the boundary layer above submergedblocks, and suppressing recirculating bubbles. The current study uses viscous dissipation toanalyze the mixed convective hybrid nanofluid flow around a yawed cylinder. Unlike the stan-dard nanofluid model, which only considers one type of nanoparticle, this work considers thehybridization of two types of nanoparticles: alumina (Al_(2)O_(3)) and magnetite (Fe_(3)O_(4)). A modelwas developed to investigate the heat transport behaviour of a hybrid nanofluid while account-ing for the solid volume fraction. The flow problem is modelled in terms of highly nonlinearpartial differential equations (NPDEs) subject to the appropriate boundary conditions. Thenappropriate non-similar transformations were used to non-dimensionalize the governing equa-tions. Furthermore, the non-dimensional governing equations were solved using the finite dif-ference method (FDM) and the quasilinearisation technique. The effects of water andnanoparticle concentrations on the velocity and the temperature patterns were illustrated graph-ically. The hybrid nanofluid reduces the velocity distribution in the spanwise and chordwise di-rections while increasing the surface drag coefficient. The hybrid nanofluid’s fluid temperatureand energy transport strength was higher than the base fluid and nanofluid. Also, the temper-ature of the fluid rises as the energy transfer strength diminishes due to an increase in the Eckert number, which characterizes viscous dissipation. however, when the yaw angle increases in thechordwise and spanwise directions, so does the fluid’s velocity. The new outcomes werecompared to previously published research and were in good agreement.
