Optimization of chemistry and process parameters for control of intermetallic formation in Mg sludges

Intermetallic formation in sludge during magnesium(Mg)melting,holding and high pressure die casting practices is a very important ***,very often it is overlooked by academia,original equipment manufacturers(OEM),metal ingot producers and even die *** aim of this study was to minimize the intermetallic formation in Mg sludge via the optimization of the chemistry and process *** Al8Mn5 intermetallic particles were identified by the microstructure analysis based on the Al and Mn *** design of experiment(DOE)technique,Taguchi method,was employed to minimize the intermetallic formation in the sludge of Mg alloys with various chemical compositions of Al,Mn,Fe,and different process parameters,holding temperature and holding *** sludge yield(SY)and intermetallic size(IS)was selected as two *** optimum combination of the levels in terms of minimizing the intermetallic formation were 9 wt.%Al,0.15 wt.%Mn,0.001 wt.%(10 ppm)Fe,690℃ for the holding temperature and holding at 30 mins for the holding time,*** best combination for smallest intermetallic size were 9 wt.%Al,0.15 wt.%Mn,0.001 wt.%(10 ppm)Fe,630℃ for the holding temperature and holding at 60 mins for the holding time,*** groups of sludge factors,Chemical Sludge(CSF),Physical Sludge(PSF)and Comprehensive Sludge Factors(and CPSF)were established for prediction of sludge yields and intermetallic sizes in Al-containing Mg *** CPSF with five independent variables including both chemical elements and process parameters gave high accuracy in prediction,as the prediction of the PSF with only the two processing parameters of the melt holding temperature and time showed a relatively large deviation from the experimental *** Chemical Sludge Factor was primarily designed for small ingot producers and die casters with a limited melting and holding capacity,of which process parameters could be fixed *** Physical Sludge Factor could be used f

DIA-based quantitative proteomic analysis on porcine meat quality at different chilling rates

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of chilling rate on porcine meat quality from the perspective of proteome using data independent acquisition(DIA)-based quantitative proteomic strategy. M. longissimus thoracis et lumborum(n = 9) was assigned randomly to the control group(3.72 ℃/h), very fast chilling-Ⅰ group(VFC-Ⅰ, 9.31℃/h) and VFC-Ⅱ group(14.43 ℃/h). The DIA was used to analyze the difference in proteins under different chilling rates. Results showed that tenderness was improved significantly in meat at the chilling rate of 14.43 ℃/h. Seventy-nine differential abundant proteins(fold change > 1.5, P hways. These pathways indicated that VFC delayed cell metabolism and glycolysis by down-regulating the expression of metabolic enzymes. The tenderness was improved by up-regulating the expression of proteasome and m-calpain.

Enhanced stability of FA-based perovskite:Rare-earth metal compound EuBr_(2) doping

It is highly desirable to enhance the long-term stability of perovskite solar cells(PSCs)so that this class of photovoltaic cells can be effectively used for the commercialization *** this contribution,attempts have been made to use the two-step sequential method to dope EuBr_(2)into FAMAPbI_(3)perovskite to promote the *** is shown that the device durability at 85℃in air with Rh of 20%-40%is improved substantially,and simultaneously the champion device efficiency of 23.04%is *** enhancement in stability is attributed to two points:(ⅰ)EuBr_(2)doping effectively inhibits the decomposition andα-δphase transition of perovskite under ambient environment,and(ⅱ)EuBr_(2)aggregates in the oxidized format of Eu(BrO_(3))_(3)at perovskite grain boundaries and surface,hampering humidity erosion and mitigates degradation through coordination with h_(2)O.

Dimensional regulation in polyoxometalates is an effective strategy during the design and synthesis of polyoxometalates-based high proton conductors,but it is not available to ***,the precise regulation of dimensionality has been realized in an unprecedented gigantic molybdenum blue wheel family featuring pentagonal{(W)Mo5}motifs through optimizing the molar ratio of Mo/W,including[Gd_(2)Mo_(124)W_(14)O_(422)(h_(2)O)62]38-(0D-{Mo_(124)W_(14)},1),[Mo_(126)W_(14)O441(h_(2)O)51]^(70-)(1D-{Mo_(126)W_(14)}n,2),and[Mo_(124)W_(14)O_(430)(h_(2)O)50]60-(2D-{Mo_(124)W_(14)}n,3).Such important{(W)Mo5}structural motif brings new reactivity into gigantic Mo blue *** are different numbers and sites of{Mo2}defects in each wheel-shaped monomer in 1-3,which leads to the monomers of 2 and 3 to form 1D and 2D architectures via Mo-O-Mo covalent bonds driven by{Mo2}-mediated h_(2)O ligands substitution process,respectively,thus achieving the controllable dimensional *** expected,the proton conductivity of 3 is 10 times higher than that of 1 and 1.7 times higher than that of *** continuous proton hopping sites in 2D network are responsible for the enhanced proton conductivity with lower activation *** study highlights that this dimensional regulation approach remains great potential in preparing polyoxometalates-based high proton conductive materials.

Incorporating empirical knowledge into data-driven variable selection for quantitative analysis of coal ash content by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS)has become a widely used atomic spectroscopic technique for rapid coal ***,the vast amount of spectral information in LIBS contains signal uncertainty,which can affect its quantification *** this work,we propose a hybrid variable selection method to improve the performance of LIBS *** variables are first identified using Pearson's correlation coefficient,mutual information,least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)and random forest,and then filtered and combined with empirical variables related to fingerprint elements of coal ash ***,these variables are fed into a partial least squares regression(PLSR).Additionally,in some models,certain variables unrelated to ash content are removed manually to study the impact of variable deselection on model *** proposed hybrid strategy was tested on three LIBS datasets for quantitative analysis of coal ash content and compared with the corresponding data-driven baseline *** is significantly better than the variable selection only method based on empirical knowledge and in most cases outperforms the baseline *** results showed that on all three datasets the hybrid strategy for variable selection combining empirical knowledge and data-driven algorithms achieved the lowest root mean square error of prediction(RMSEP)values of 1.605,3.478 and 1.647,respectively,which were significantly lower than those obtained from multiple linear regression using only 12 empirical variables,which are 1.959,3.718 and 2.181,*** LASSO-PLSR model with empirical support and 20 selected variables exhibited a significantly improved performance after variable deselection,with RMSEP values dropping from 1.635,3.962 and 1.647 to 1.483,3.086 and 1.567,*** results demonstrate that using empirical knowledge as a support for datadriven variable selection can be a viable approach to improve the acc

Multi-objective optimization design of anti-roll torsion bar using improved beluga whale optimization algorithm

Purpose – This study aims to reduce the redundant weight of the anti-roll torsion bar brought by thetraditional empirical design and improving its strength and ***/methodology/approach – Based on the finite element approach coupled with the improved belugawhale optimization (IBWO) algorithm, a collaborative optimization method is suggested to optimize the designof the anti-roll torsion bar structure and weight. The dimensions and material properties of the torsion bar weredefined as random variables, and the torsion bar’s mass and strength were investigated using finite ***, chaotic mapping and differential evolution (DE) operators are introduced to improve the beluga whaleoptimization (BWO) algorithm and run case *** – The findings demonstrate that the IBWO has superior solution set distribution uniformity,convergence speed, solution correctness and stability than the BWO. The IBWO algorithm is used to optimizethe anti-roll torsion bar design. The error between the optimization and finite element simulation results wasless than 1%. The weight of the optimized anti-roll torsion bar was lessened by 4%, the maximum stress wasreduced by 35% and the stiffness was increased by 1.9%.Originality/value – The study provides a methodological reference for the simulation optimization process ofthe lateral anti-roll torsion bar.

青藏高原雨季时长及雨季降水量的长尺度定量重建,是揭示高原西风、季风时空演变规律及其生态环境效应的关键,其中准确判断高原雨季的起止时间是研究难点.本文通过寻找降水拐点的方法确定了高原不同地点的雨季起、止时间,并计算了雨季时长和雨季降水量,建立了表土孢粉组合与雨季起止时间、雨季时长和雨季降水量的转换函数,重建了具有年纹层沉积特征的高原北部库赛湖区和中部江错湖区过去2000年来的雨季起止时间、雨季时长和雨季降水量变化.结果表明,过去2000以来,库赛湖区雨季降水序列记录了5次高降水时段:AD580~680、AD1000~1100、AD1200~1450、AD1550~1780、AD1920至今,其普遍对应雨季天数长的时段;江错湖区雨季降水序列记录了4次高降水时段:AD80~500、AD800~950、AD1250~1450、AD1780至今,其与雨季天数长的时段在AD1000以前对应良好,在AD1000后关系不明确.在空间上,高原雨季降水呈现出“南北同湿”、“南北同旱”、“南湿北旱”和“南旱北湿”四种模式,其中“南北同湿”可能与异常强盛的夏季风有关,“南北同旱”与弱西风和弱季风有关,“南湿北旱”与强季风和弱西风有关,“南旱北湿”与弱季风和强西风有关.本文从雨季降水的角度揭示了高原2000年来雨季起止时间、雨季时长及雨季降水量的时空演变模式,为进一步认识西风、季风耦合作用提供了自然背景的支持.
