The goal of this study was to synthesize nickel oxide nanoparticles(NiO-NPs)by the sol-gel method,which involved the use of salvia macrosiphon Boiss plant extract,Ni(NO3)2·6 h2 O as a capping agent,and a nickel precursor,*** synthesized NiO-NPs were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)spectrophotometer,X-ray diffraction(XRD),field electron scanning electron microscopy(FESEM)/energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX),thermo-gravimetric analysis/differential thermal analysis(TGA/DTA)and vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)***,according to the results of UV-Vis,the gap band of nanoparticles was calculated to be in the range of about 2.9-3.9 *** photocatalytic activity of nanoparticles on methylene blue(MB)degradation was investigated and according to the results,about 80%MB was apparently degraded in the presence of NiO-NPs under UV-A light(11 W)after 5 h in ph^*** have evaluated the cytotoxicity of NiO-NPs on the multiple tumor cells by materials method,and all the utilized concentrations were observed to cause non-toxic effects;therefore,it can be suggested that these samples have the potential of being employed in different fields of medicine.

Objective Scorpion （hemiscorpius lepturus） stings are a public health concern in Iran, particularly in south and southwestern regions of Iran. The gold standard for the treatment of a scorpion sting is anti-venom therapy. however, immunotherapy can have serious side effects, such as anaphylactic shock （which can sometimes even lead to death）. The aim of the current study was to demonstrate the protective effect of ozone against toxicity induced by hemiscorpius lepturus （h. lepturus） venom in mice. Methods Eight hours after the injection of ozone to the experimental design groups, the male mice were decapitated and mitochondria were isolated from five different tissues （liver, kidney, heart, brain, and spinal cord） using differential ultracentrifugation. Then, assessment of mitochondrial parameters including mitochondrial reactive oxidative species （ROS） production, mitochondrial membrane potential （MMP）, ATP level, and the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria was performed. Results Our results showed that h. lepturus venom-induced oxidative stress is related to ROS production and MMP collapse, which is correlated with cytochrome c release and ATP depletion, indicating the predisposition to the cell death signaling. Conclusion In general, ozone therapy in moderate dose can be considered as clinically effective for the treatment of h. lepturus sting as a protective and antioxidant agent.

＜正＞ This paper presents the transient model of a new FACTS device, the center node unified power flow control-ler（C-UPFC）, installed at the midpoint of a transmission line. The C-UPFC consists of three voltage source inverters （VSI） with common DC link. One of the converters is connected in parallel at the midpoint of line and the other two converters are connected in series. The simulation results indicate that the C-UPFC is capable of independently controlling the active and reactive power flows at the both ends of line and the magnitude of AC voltage at line mid point. It is shown that by adding a supplementary control system to the shunt inverter control system, it is possible to balance line current too.

Nicorandil potentiates sodium butyrate induced preconditioning of neurons and enhances their survival upon subsequent treatment with h_(2)O_(2)

Background:Extensive loss of donor neural stem cell(NSCs)due to ischemic stress and low rate of differentiation at the site of cell graft are two of the major issues that hamper optimal outcome in NSCs transplantation *** that histone deacetylases(hDACs)modulate various cellular processes by deacetylating histones and non-histone proteins,we hypothesized that combined treatment with small molecules,sodium butyrate(NaB;a known hDAC inhibitor)and nicorandil,will enhance the rate neuronal differentiation of NSCs besides their preconditioning to resist oxidative ***:NSCs derived from 14-day old Sprague Dawley rat ganglion eminence were characterized for tri-lineage *** with 1 mM NaB significantly changed their culture characteristics while continuous treatment for 10 days enhanced their neural *** treatment also preconditioned the cells for their resistance to oxidative ***:The highest rate of neural differentiation and preconditioning effect was achieved when the NSCs were treated concomitantly with NaB and *** proliferation assay showed that concomitant treatment with NaB and nicorandil retarded their rate of ***:These data conclude that preconditioning of NSCs with NaB and nicorandil effectively enhances their differentiation capacity besides preconditioning the cells to support their survival under ischemic conditions.

The piezoelectric properties of relaxor ferroelectric 0.65Pb（Mg1/3,Nb2/3）O3-0.35PTO3 ceramic prepared by a sol-gel combustion method have been investigated as function of sintering temperature. The results show that its phase structure is near the morphoteropic phase boundary （MPB）, and outstanding electrical properties are obtained with this composition. The highest piezoelectric coefficients were observed for the samples sintered at temperature of 1200℃. In comparison with pure PMN （（1-x）Pb（Mg1/3Nb2/3）O3- （x）PbTiO3）, the substitution of 35% PT results in the decrease of sintered temperature and improved the relaxation behavior.

＜正＞This paper deals with special active power line conditioner （APLC）, which is based, the same as UPQC, on integration of series and shunt power converters sharing a common DC link. In this paper the main purpose of the shunt inverter is to compensate the reactive power and current harmonics caused by nonlinear load. In addition, a simple structure feed forward neural network is presented for the separate of harmonic current components in nonlinear current load. It is known that loss reduction can be proposed in the parallel paths and also parallel transformers too. The aim of series power converter of APLC is to control power flow in order to reduce losses of distribution system, suggested APLC not only performs the functions of UPQC hut also can effectively reduce power losses in parallel paths. Simulation results, carried out by PSCAD/EMTDC, show that the proposed strategy using adaptive neural network can effectively reduce power losses and eliminate harmonic currents for sensitive nonlinear loads.

Seismic Response of a Typical Fixed Jacket-Type Offshore Platform (SPD1) Under Sea Waves

Offshore platforms in seismically active areas should be designed to service severe earthquake excitations with no global structural failure. In seismic design of offshore platforms, it is often necessary to perform a dynamic analysis that accounts for nonlinear pile soil structures interaction effects. This paper summarizes the nonlinear dynamic analysis of a 3-D model of a typical Jacket-Type platform which is installed in Persian Gulf (SPD1), under simultaneously wave and earthquake loading has been conducted. It is assumed that they act in the same and different directions. The interaction between soil and piles is modeled by equivalent pile length theory. The structure is modeled by finite element method (Ansys Inc.). It be concluded that when the longitudinal components of the earthquake and wave are in different directions, an increase on the response of platform can be seen.

Inducible nitric oxide synthetase genotype and helicobacter pylori infection affect gastric cancer risk

AIM： To investigate the association of the inducible ni- tric oxide synthetase （iNOS） C150T polymorphism with helicobacter pylori （h. pylor/） infection and gastric can- cer （GC） risk in Iran. METhODS： In order to determine whether there was a correlation between iNOS genotype and GC in Iran, we conducted a case-control study using samples from 329 individuals. For each sample, the C150T ilVOS poly- morphism was genotyped by polymerase chain reaction （PCR） and restriction digestion. Patients were grouped by cancer presence, demographic and behavior charac- teristics, and/-/, pylori infection status. Statistical tests were conducted to determine whether any behavioral factors or a particular iNOS genotype was associated with GC in the study population. RESULTS： In this population, we found that smok- ing, hot beverage consumption, a familial history of GC and h. pylori infection status were significantly associated with GC development （P = 0.015, P 〈 0.001, P = 0.0034, and P 〈 0.015, respectively）. The distribution of the C150T ilVOS genotypes among the two study groups was not statistically significant alone, but was impacted by h. pylori infection status. When compared to the non-/-/, pylori infected group, cancer patients who had a heterozygous CT genotype and were also infected with h. pylori were 2.1 times more at risk of developing GC [odds ratio （OR） = 2.1, P = 0.03] while those with a homozygous TT genotype and infected with h. pylori were 5.0 times more at risk of developing GC （OR = 5.0, P = 0.029）. In contrast, this association was not seen in patients in the control ***： ACT or TT polymorphism at position 150 in the iNO$ gene significantly increases the risk of GC and may be a marker for GC susceptibility.
