herein,we demonstrate the synthesis of bifunctional nickel cobalt selenide@nickel telluride(Ni_(x)Co_(12-x)Se@NiTe)core-shell heterostructures via an electrodeposition approach for overall urea electrolysis and *** 3D vertically orientated NiTe dendritic frameworks induce the homogeneous nucleation of 2D Ni_(x)Co_(12-x)Se nanosheet arrays along similar crystal directions and bring a strong interfacial binding between the integrated active *** particular,the optimized Ni_(6)Co_(6)Se@NiTe with an interface coupling effect works in concert to tune the intrinsic *** only needs a low overpotential of 1.33 V to yield a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2)for alkaline urea ***,the full urea catalysis driven only by Ni_(6)Co_(6)Se@NiTe achieves 10 mA cm^(-2)at a potential of 1.38 V and can approach a constant level of the current response for 40 ***,the integrated Ni_(6)Co_(6)Se@NiTe electrode delivers an enhanced specific capacity(223 mA h g^(-1)at 1 A g^(-1))with a high cycling ***,a hybrid asymmetric supercapacitor(hASC)device based on Ni_(6)Co_(6)Se@NiTe exhibits a favorable rate capability and reaches a high energy density of 67.7 Wh kg^(-1)and a power density of 724.8 W kg^(-1)with an exceptional capacity retention of 92.4%after sequential 12000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).

BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases worldwide,significantly impacting patients'quality of *** treatment options like metformin(MET)effectively counteract hyperglycemia but fail to alleviate diabetes-associated complications such as retinopathy,neuropathy,nephropathy,hepatopathy,and cardiovascular *** To propose the supplementation of cholecalciferol(ChO)and taurine(TAU)to enhance MET efficacy in controlling diabetes while minimizing the risk of associated *** The study involved sixty rats,including ten non-diabetic control rats and fifty experimental rats with type 2 diabetes induced by *** experimental rats were further subdivided into positive control and treatment *** four treatment groups were randomly allocated to a single MET treatment or MET combined with supplements either ChO,TAU,or *** diabetic rats exhibited elevated levels of glucose,insulin,homeostasis Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance(hOMA-IR),glycated hemoglobin percentage,lipid markers,aspartate aminotransferase,and malondialdehyde,along with reduced levels of antioxidant enzymes(catalase and superoxide dismutase).The administration of ChO and TAU supplements alongside MET in diabetic rats led to a noticeable recovery of islet *** antioxidative,anti-inflammatory,and anti-apoptotic properties of the proposed combination therapy significantly ameliorated the aforementioned *** The supplementation of ChO and TAU with MET showed the potential to significantly improve metabolic parameters and protect against diabetic complications through its antioxidative,anti-inflammatory,and antiapoptotic effects.

Forests in the aridlands of Sudan are distinctive in nature and require special attention due to the great role they play as a first and last line of defense against southward ***,to determine their conservative and protective needs based on current conditions in the Wad Al-Bashir Forest(WF),toward ensuring sustainable forest resources in these areas,we used a systematic field survey,existing and available documents review and key informant interviews(KII),to collect data from 08 December 2017 to 15 May 2018.A severe depletion and changes in the forest tree cover and composition were found during the field survey,where species such as Balanitis aegyptiaca is threatened and invasive species(e.g.,Acacia nubica)have started to *** documents have credited illegal cutting and agricultural activities for the changes in the forest status,whereas the KII indicated that past and current forest conservative and protective practices(CPPs),where forest clearance for agricultural,grazing,pests and disease control,were not given a deserved consideration as they relate to tree cutting and reforestation ***,negligence of the needs of those who depend on the forest and inadequate funds have constrained implementation of some ***,on the basis of the results of this study,we recommend that CPPs associated with agriculture,grazing,forest fire,pest and disease control should be a top priority concern of forest *** financial support,which could be enriched by involving governmental and non-governmental organizations,is also needed to boost CPPs in the *** species also need to be cleared and replaced by trees such as *** and *** that are of economic and environmental value.

Using a scheme of agricultural fields with progressively less intensive management (deintensification), different manage- ment practices in six agroecosystems located near Goldsboro, NC, USA were tested in a large-scale experiment, including two cash-grain cropping systems employing either tillage (CT) or no-tillage (NT), an organic farming system (OR), an integrated cropping system with animals (IN), a successional field (SU), and a plantation woodlot (WO). Microbial phos- pholipid fatty acid (PLFA) profiles and substrate utilization patterns (BIOLOG ECO plates) were measured to examine the effects of deintensification on the structure and diversity of soil microbial communities. Principle component analyses of PLFA and BIOLOG data showed that the microbial community structure diverged among the soils of the six systems. Lower microbial diversity was found in lowly managed ecosystem than that in intensive and moderately managed agro- ecosystems, and both fungal contribution to the total identified PLFAs and the ratio of microbial biomass C/N increased along with agricultural deintensification. Significantly higher ratios of C/N (P he WO and SU systems, and for fungal/bacterial PLFAs in the WO system (P here were also significant decreases (P h agricultural deintensification for contributions of total bacterial and gram positive (G+) bacterial PLFAs. Agricultural deintensification could facilitate the development of microbial communities that favor soil fungi over bacteria.

随着全球能源需求增长和环境污染加剧,发展可持续能源减少对化石燃料(如石油、天然气和煤炭等)的消耗成为实现人类社会可持续发展的关键.氢能因其能量密度高、燃烧无污染、应用形式多样被认为是最理想的替代能源.电解水制氢包括阴极析氢反应(hER)和阳极析氧反应(OER),具有绿色环保、生产灵活和纯度高等特点,是理想的绿色生产技术之一.然而,阳极电解水产氧反应动力学缓慢,导致阴极的产氢效率低.此外,在电解水过程中,会产生高氧化性的过氧化氢(h_(2)O_(2)),降低电解水膜的寿命,阻碍电解水技术的实际应用.因此,亟待开发新型高效、稳定且具有高附加值的电解水催化剂.目前,电化学整体水分解(OWS)制氢技术存在安全风险、投资回报低、阳极OER动力学慢和电能消耗大等问题,将阳极氧化反应与混合电解水(hWE)装置中的hER相结合,借助热力学较好的电氧化反应取代缓慢的传统OER反应协同产氢,可以有效克服传统电解水的产率不足,解决污染排放和生物质回收问题.本文综述了协同电催化用于联产氢气和低能耗、高法拉第效率高价值产品的催化剂结构设计,揭示不同协同电催化系统的催化途径和意义,以实现更高效、零碳排放的目标.首先,介绍了hWE系统的发展现状,重点关注各种富氢物质的协同电解,例如酒精、生物质衍生物、葡萄糖和在阳极形成的高附加值化学品.与传统阳极OER工艺相比,有机/生物质底物小分子的OER表现出较低的热力学需求,降低产氢能耗.随后,详细介绍了基于阴极hER和阳极OER协同电解反应、协同催化hWE高效电极/电催化剂的合理设计,以实现高催化活性、高选择性和良好的电化学稳定性.重点讨论了新型电极/电催化剂设计、活性改进以及结构-催化活性关系提升的合成策略.再后,讨论了基于有机/生物质小分子协同hWE系统电催化的代表性研究进展和突破,强调了其在促进可持续低压制氢方面的重要作用,并回顾了近年来hWE的研究突破,同时,对一些可行性分析和机理探索进行比较,为制氢提供了新的研究方向.最后,提出了协同电催化制氢面临的挑战并展望未来的研究方向.综上,大多数电催化剂存在催化活性低、稳定性差等问题,要实现可持续、经济高效和清洁的产氢技术,仍有很多方面需要进一步的深入研究.本文综述了高效多功能hWE系统发展现状和催化剂结构设计,为电解水制氢和高附加值产品的节能联产提供一定的参考.

Assessment of natural radioactivity levels in Yemen rocks

Studies on radiation level and radionuclide distribution in Yemen were studied. The samples were collected from eight locations： Ma＇rib, A1 Jawf, Sana＇a, Dhamar, Amran, Ibb, Al Bayda and Al Dalea. The purpose of this study is to provide a baseline map of radioactivity background levels in the investigated area and this study will be used as reference information to assess any change in the radioactive background level due to geological processes. The highest values of 22~ and 2~l＇h concentrations （8797.2 and 24984.1 ***＂l, respectively） were observed at A1 Jawf, region, whereas the highest average value of 40K concentration was 1561.9 ***-1. The investigation of the geological maps of the area under study showed that the surface rock outcrops consist mainly of granites, diorite, granodiorite, gneisses, and schists. All these rock types arc known to be rich in radioactive materials, which are considered natural sources for gamma radiation. The low mdiological background characterizing some Yemeni rocks could be attributed to nature of these rocks which consist of lime stone （sands and gravels）. The absorbed dose rate in air was found to be in the range between 5.40 and 45.11 nGy.h-1 depending on the geological features, and radium equivalent activity concentration was found in the range between 29.57 and 71.85 ***-1. Also the representative extcmal hazard index values for the corresponding samples were also estinlated and given.

Assignment of ethnicity in patients with acute ischemic stroke in northern Israel

The description of various methods for ethnicity classification can be found in the literature, though their reliability still remains unclear. We examined inter-observer agreement in defining the ethnic identification of patients in a bi-ethnic population (Arab-Jewish) in northern Israel, using place of birth and residence in addition to given and family names. Data about 1006 consecutive patients with acute ischemic stroke were gathered from our stroke registry. The data were analyzed by four independent observers (authors Mh, TD, hh, GT) aiming to assign patients either as Arabs or Jews. Agreement between all four observers was excellent, as assessed by Fleiss’ Kappa statistic (κ = 0.96). We conclude that the use of given and family names of patients, together with their place of birth and residence, achieved near-perfect inter-observer agreement and a highly reliable assignment of ethnicity in two large ethnic population groups–Arabs and Jews–in northern Israel.
