Pathological vascular remodeling is a hallmark of various vascular *** research has established the significance of andrographolide in maintaining gastric vascular homeostasis and its pivotal role in modulating endothelial barrier dysfunction,which leads to pathological vascular *** dehydroandrographolide succinate(PdA),a derivative of andrographolide,has been clinically utilized in the treatment of inflammatory diseases precipitated by viral *** study investigates the potential of PdA in regulating pathological vascular *** effect of PdA on vascular remodeling was assessed through the complete ligation of the carotid artery in C57BL/6 *** approaches,including rat aortic primary smooth muscle cell culture,flow cytometry,bromodeoxyuridine(BrdU)incorporation assay,Boyden chamber cell migration assay,spheroid sprouting assay,and Matrigel-based tube formation assay,were employed to evaluate the influence of PdA on the proliferation and motility of smooth muscle cells(SMCs).Molecular docking simulations and co-immunoprecipitation assays were conducted to examine protein *** results revealed that PdA exacerbates vascular injury-induced pathological remodeling,as evidenced by enhanced neointima *** treatment significantly increased the proliferation and migration of *** mechanistic studies disclosed that PdA upregulated myeloid differentiation factor 88(Myd88)expression in SMCs and interacted with T-cadherin(Cdh13).This interaction augmented proliferation,migration,and extracellular matrix deposition,culminating in pathological vascular *** findings underscore the critical role of PdA in the regulation of pathological vascular remodeling,mediated through the Myd88/Cdh13 signaling pathway.

Metastability of π-π stacking between the closed-shell ions of like charges

Planar cations or anions can form stacks in crystals or solutions,where the surrounding or environment plays a decisive role as demonstrated in previous ***,it remains unclear whether these counterintuitive interactions possess any inherent stability or are thoroughly repulsive if the constraint of environment is *** this work,we explored the inherent stability ofπ-πstacking between closed-shell ions of like charges with prototypes derived from experimental *** inherent metastability was identified by the characteristic local minima and the transition states preventing their dissociation and verified by ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMd)*** nature of involved interactions was deciphered with the energy decomposition approach based on the block-localized wavefunction method(BLW-Ed).Like the conventional neutralπ-πstacking interactions,electron correlation is the most attractive energy *** it is overturned by the Coulombic repulsion between net charges for all modes of dimerization,resulting in the overall repulsive inter-cation or anion *** from van der Waals interactions were also observed in the reduced density gradient *** origin of the metastability was elucidated by examining the contributions of individual physical factors to the *** inherent metastability originates from the electron correlation,which dramatically increases due to the enhanced overlap between ions from a transition state to its corresponding minimum.

Laboratory and field evaluation of a low-cost optical particle sizer

Low-cost sensors are widely used to collect high-spatial-resolution particulate matter data that traditional reference monitoring devices *** addition to the mass concentration,the number concentration and size distribution are also fundamental in determining the origin and hazard level of particulate ***,low-cost optical sensors have been improved to establish optical particle sizers(OPSs).In this study,a low-cost OPS,the Nova SdS029,is introduced,and it is evaluated in comparison to two reference instruments—the GRIMM 11-d and the TSI *** first tested the sizing accuracy using polystyrene latex ***,we assessed the mass and number size distribution accuracy in three application scenarios:indoor smoking,ambient air quality,and mobile *** evaluations suggest that the low-cost SdS029 rivals research-grade optical sizers in many *** example,(1)the particle diameters obtained with the SdS029 are close to the reference instruments(usuallyhe 0.3-5μm range;(2)the number of particles and mass concentration are highly correlated(r≥0.99)with the values obtained with the reference instruments;and(3)the SdS029 slightly underestimates the number concentration,but the derived PM_(2.5)values are closer to monitoring station than the reference *** successful application of the SdS029 in multiple scenarios suggests that a plausible particle size distribution can be obtained in an easy and cost-efficient *** believe that low-cost OPSs will increasingly be used to map the sources and risk levels of particles at the city scale.

An intramolecular isotopic study was conducted on natural gases collected from coal-derived gas reser-voirs in sedimentary basins of China to determine their position-specific isotope *** propane from the Turpan-hami Basin exhibited negativeΔc-T(δ13Ccentral-δ13Cterminal)values ranging from-3.9‰to-0.3‰,with an average of-2.1‰.Propane from the Ordos Basin,Sichuan Basin,and Tarim Basin showed positiveΔC-T values,with averages of 1.3‰,5.4‰and 7.6‰,*** carbon isotope compositions reveal the precursors and the propane generation pathways in the petroliferous *** formed from the thermal cracking of TypeⅢkerogen has largerδ13Ccentral andδ13Cterminal values than propane from TypeⅠ/Ⅱ*** precursor for natural gases collected in this study is identified to be TypeⅢ*** our data to calculated results for thermal cracking of TypeⅢkerogen,we found that propane from the low-maturity gas reservoir in the Turpan Basin was generated via the i-propyl radical pathway,whereas propane from the Sulige tight gas reservoir in the Ordos Basin was formed via the n-propyl radical pathway.δ13Cterminal values covered a narrow range across basins,in contrast toδ*** terminal carbon position in propane is less impacted by microbial oxidation and more relevant to maturity levels and ***,δ13Cterminal has a good potential to infer the origin and maturity level of natural *** examining post-generation processes,we proposed an improved identification strategy for microbial oxidation of natural gases,based on the position-specific carbon isotope distributions of *** from the Liaohe depression of the Bohai Bay Basin and the Sichuan Basin were detected of post-generation microbial ***,position-specific carbon isotope composition of propane provides new insights into the generation mechanism and post-generation processes of natural gas in the geological period at the atomic level.

Considering that previous literature has mainly focused on the impact of the digital economy(dE)on environmental degradation,ignoring the role of natural resources,this study uses two key factors(natural resource rent and anticorruption regulation)as threshold variables to reveal the effect of natural resources on the association between dE and carbon dioxide(CO_(2))*** doing so,the study covers 97 countries,uses annual data between 2003 and 2019,and applies a panel threshold *** outcomes present that the influence of the dE on CO_(2)emissions has a single-threshold effect(i.e.,there is an inverted U-shaped link between the dE and CO_(2)emissions)when natural resource rent is the threshold ***,the dE significantly increases CO_(2)emissions when the natural resource rent is at a low-to-medium level,but the dE suppresses CO_(2)emissions growth when natural resource rent exceeds the ***,the dE drives overall CO_(2)emissions growth when anticorruption regulation is the threshold variable and there are double thresholds for its impact on CO_(2)***,a rise in anticorruption regulation initially exacerbates the contribution of dE impact on CO_(2)emissions and then weakens it over *** on the results,the study proposes various implications,such as formulating a dE development strategy,considering natural resources in the development of the dE,and strengthening anti-corruption efforts in the field of environmental protection.

A computational model to identify fertility-related proteins using sequence information

Fertility is the most crucial step in the development process,which is controlled by many fertility-related proteins,including spermatogenesis-,oogenesis-and embryogenesis-related *** identification of fertility-related proteins can provide important clues for studying the role of these proteins in ***,in this study,we constructed a two-layer classifier to identify fertility-related *** this classifier,we first used the composition of amino acids(AA)and their physical and chemical properties to code these three fertility-related ***,the feature set is optimized by analysis of variance(ANOVA)and incremental feature selection(IFS)to obtain the optimal feature *** five-fold cross-validation(CV)and independent data tests,the performance of models constructed by different machine learning(ML)methods is evaluated and ***,based on support vector machine(SVM),we obtained a two-layer model to classify three fertility-related *** the independent test data set,the accuracy(ACC)and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of the first layer classifier are 81.95%and 0.89,respectively,and them of the second layer classifier are 84.74%and 0.90,*** results show that the proposed model has stable performance and satisfactory prediction accuracy,and can become a powerful model to identify more fertility related proteins.

The electrical properties of high-entropy ceramics(hECs)have been extensively studied in recent years due to their unique structural characteristics and fascinating functional properties induced by entropy *** high-entropy(Sm_(0.2)Eu_(0.2)Gd_(0.2)ho_(0.2)Yb_(0.2))CrO_(3)(hE-RECrO_(3))nanofibers were prepared by electro *** work demonstrates that hE-RECrO_(3)nanofibe rs were successfully synthesized at a low temperature(800℃),which is approximately 400℃lower than the temperatures at which chromate ceramics were synthesized via the sol-gel method and the solid-state reaction *** resistivity of hE-RECrO_(3)nanofibers decreases exponentially with increasing temperature from 25 to600℃.The logarithm of the resistivity is linearly related to the inverse of the temperature,confirming the negative temperature coefficient property of hE-RECrO_(3)*** B_(25/50)value of the hERECrO_(3)nanofibers reaches 4072 *** conclusion,hE-RECrO_(3)nanofibers are expected to be potential candidates for negative-temperature-coefficient(NTC)thermistors.

Bioinspired directional structures for inhibiting wetting on super-melt-philic surfaces above 1200°C

Over the past two decades,superhydrophobic surfaces that are easily created have aroused considerable attention for their superior performances in various applications at room ***,there is a growing demand in special fields for the development of surfaces that can resist wetting by high-temperature molten droplets(>1200°C)using facile design and fabrication ***,bioinspired directional structures(BdSs)were prepared on Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2(YSZ)surfaces using femtosecond laser *** from the anisotropic energy barriers,the BdSs featured with no additional modifiers showed a remarkable increase from 9.2°to 60°in the contact angle of CaO–MgO–Al2O3–SiO2(CMAS)melt and a 70.1%reduction in the spreading area of CMAS at 1250°C,compared with polished super-CMAS-melt-philic YSZ ***,the BdSs demonstrated exceptional wetting inhibition even at 1400°C,with an increase from 3.3°to 31.3°in contact angle and a 67.9%decrease in spreading *** work provides valuable insight and a facile preparation strategy for effectively inhibiting the wetting of molten droplets on super-melt-philic surfaces at extremely high temperatures.
