Ever since its outbreak in the Wuhan city of China,COVID-19 pandemic has engulfed more than 211 countries in the world,leaving a trail of unprecedented *** more debilitating than the infection itself,were the restrictions like lockdowns and quarantine measures taken to contain the spread of *** enforced alienation affected both the mental and social condition of people *** interactions and congregations are not only integral part of work life but also form the basis of human ***,COVID-19 brought all such communication to a grinding *** interactions have failed to enthuse the fervor that one enjoys in face-to-face *** pandemic has shoved the entire planet into an unstable *** main focus and aim of the proposed study is to assess the impact of the pandemic on different aspects of the society in Saudi *** achieve this objective,the study analyzes two perspectives:the early approach,and the late approach of COVID-19 and the consequent effects on different aspects of the *** used a Machine Learning based framework for the prediction of the impact of COVID-19 on the key aspects of *** of this research study indicate that financial resources were the worst *** countries are facing economic upheavals due to the pandemic and COVID-19 has had a considerable impact on the lives as well as the livelihoods of *** the damage is not irretrievable and the world’s societies can emerge out of this setback through concerted efforts in all facets of life.

Developing a Comprehensive Taxi Strategy for Dubai: Based on System Analysis &Structured Assessment

Taxi plays an important role in providing passenger mobility. Taxi services are among the most frequently used passenger transport services in many cities in the world. Taxis are an integral part of a city’s image. In a recent IRU/EU report taxis are considered as part of the collective public transport chain. In this context taxis role is a complementary mobility option to public transport rather than a competitive one. In the growing city of Dubai taxis are utilized by many local and foreign residences as well as by tourists and visitors. The annual number of taxi trips reached 104 million trips in 2016, while the fleet is growing currently at 9613 and is expected to reach around 12,765 by 2020. Riding a taxi in Dubai is known to be pleasant, comfortable, convenient and relatively affordable experience. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is the Dubai government authority responsible for the planning and governance of the taxi sector in Dubai. The RTA through its agency namely the Public Transport Agency (PTA) exercises such roles. This research is meant to provide a system analysis and structured assessment of the taxi sector in Dubai with the objective of identifying strengths and gaps as well as reviewing the literature and conducting stakeholder consultation hence culminating on developing a comprehensive taxi strategy in Dubai. Such strategy would be targeted to achieve customer satisfaction leading eventually to customer happiness. all in all this is expected to provide an added value and benefit to the business planning for PTA as well as for the overall strategic and futuristic planning by RTA.

BACKGROUND Chronic heart failure(ChF)is a complex syndrome characterized by a progressive reduction of the left ventricular(LV)contractility,low exercise tolerance,and increased mortality and *** dysfunction(DD)of the LV,is a keystone in the pathophysiology of ChF and plays a major role in the progression of most cardiac ***,it is well estimated that exercise training induces several beneficial effects on patients with *** To evaluate the impact of a cardiac rehabilitation program on the DD and LV ejection fraction(EF)in patients with *** Thirty-two stable patients with ChF(age:56±10 years,EF:32%±8%,88%men)participated in an exercise rehabilitation *** were randomly assigned to aerobic exercise(AER)or combined aerobic and strength training(COM),based on age and peak oxygen uptake,as stratified randomization *** and after the program,they underwent a symptom-limited maximal cardiopulmonary exercise testing(CPET)and serial echocardiography evaluation to evaluate peak oxygen uptake(VO2peak),peak workload(Wpeak),DD grade,right ventricular systolic pressure(RVSP),and *** The whole cohort improved VO2peak,and Wpeak,as well as DD grade(Pall,9 patients(28.1%)improved DD grade,while 23(71.9%)remained at the same DD grade;this was a significant difference,considering DD grade at baseline(Phe whole cohort improved RVSP and EF(Phe variables assessed(P>0.05).CONCLUSION Exercise rehabilitation improves indices of diastolic and systolic *** protocol was not observed to affect *** results need to be further investigated in larger samples.

Cadmium Toxicity: Oxidative Stress, Inflammation and Tissue Injury

Cadmium is a known environmental pollutant targeting various organs. Often implicated in cadmium toxicology is the formation of reactive oxygen species, overwhelming the free radical scavenging mechanisms and inducing oxidative stress. Acute cadmium intoxication has been shown to reduce antioxidant enzyme activity and induce oxidative stress. however, chronic intoxication has obscure outcomes in oxidative stress while the cell makes adjustments to overcome the toxicant load. also linked with the occurrence of oxidative stress is inflammation. Stimulation of acute or chronic inflammation is mediated by different cascades. however, key events include activation of transcription factor, NF-κB and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Both oxidative stress and inflammation are implicated simultaneously in pathogenesis and induction of multi-organ tissue damage under cadmium exposure. This article reviews the impact of acute and chronic cadmium intoxication on inducing oxidative stress, inflammation and thereby inflicting tissue damage.

Ameliorative Effect of Shade on Seedling Growth—Evidence from Field Experiment of <i>Vachellia farnesiana</i>(L.) Willd

The presence of species diversity in the ecosystem is an important aspect. Simply put, the loss of biodiversity and the formation of ecosystems into monocultures would reduce the productivity of the forest ecosystem than it has abundant diversity. This study conducted with a purpose to get the basic information regarding the effect of shade on the seedling growth. Understanding these relationships in the early years may reveal the important information, which will be helpful for managing and evaluating the silviculture practices. The study was conducted at Dirab Experiments and Agricultural Research Station, South of Riyadh. The experimental plot was managed under the corridor of Eucalyptus camaldulensis stands. Twenty seedlings of Vachellia farnesiana with relative similar height and diameter were planted in each block at a 5 × 5 m2 spacing in March 2017. Three different treatments were established and relatively categorized into Line 1 (without shade), Line 2 (shade until 09:00 a.m.), and Line 3 (shade until 11:00 a.m.). Eight months after planting, several morphological parameters were monthly assessed from November 2017 until April 2018. also, the number of fruits was observed following the fruit’s season. Seedling growth variation as an effect of shading occurred between the lines of planting in this experiment. The seedling growth was significantly increased by shading treatment, even though target plant species (V. farnesiana) is categorized as intolerant species. Basically, shade helps to generate the favorable local environment for supporting plant growth. This treatment with an appropriate consideration might become an alternative practice for increasing plant productivity.

Numerical and experimental investigations of weld pool geometry in GTA welding of pure aluminum

A 2-D numerical model was developed to predict the shape of weld pool in stationary GTA welding of commercial pure aluminium, without considering fluid flow in the weld pool. A Gaussian current density and heat input distribution on the surface of the workpiece were considered. The parameters of Gaussian distribution were modified by comparing calculated results with experimental ones. It was found that these distribution parameters are fimctions of applied current and arc length. Effects of arc length, applied current and welding time on the geometry of the weld pool were investigated. To check the validity of the model, a series of experiments were also conducted. In general, the agreement between calculated overall shape of the weld pool and the experimental one was acceptable, especially in low applied currents. Therefore, it can be concluded that in pure aluminium, the heat conduction is dominant mechanism of heat transfer in the weld pool.

Necrotizing Fasciitis: A Surgical and Medical Emergency

Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is still remained a dreaded disease with high morbidity and mortality due to rapidly progressive necrotizing infection. Objective: Review recent available literature on necrotizing fasciitis (NF) and compare it with our publications. Data and Source: Local and international published literature on NF from early nineties to 2012;Midline and pub Med literature search using the term “necrotizing fasciitis”. Data Synthesis: NF is more common in male patient, it is frequently polymicrobial. Common site of NF is the extremities. NF is classified according to the microbes. Common co-morbid condition associated with NF is diabetes mellitus. Minor trauma and surgery are the major etiological risk factors for NF. There seems to be significant correlation between the use of non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID) and NF. Severe pain disproportionate to injury is the presenting symptom. Laboratory risk indicators for necrotizing fasciitis (LRINEC) score will diagnose NF early in emergency clinics. Tissue biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of NF. Pathophysiology of NF is rapid horizontal spread of infection with fascial necrosis and secondary vertical involvement of skin. More than 90% of NF patients need intensive care therapy. Early and bold debridement in combination with brave organ supportive intensive care will have better outcome of NF patients. Conclusion: high index of suspicion and knowledge is essential for early diagnosis of NF. Finger test and LRINEC score may help in early diagnosis. Early debridement, proper antibiotics and organ supportive intensive care will improve morbidity and mortality of NF patients.

Upward Molten Flow for Optimization of Fluid Flow in Continuous Casting Tundish

Fluid flow pattern and buoyancy force support the motion of nonmetallic inclusions toward thetundish slag. Upward molten flow was investigated. To understand the fundamentals of the process, physical modelling was carried out with the utilization of a 1 ： 4 scale model. Numerical modelling was carried out in line with the physicai modelling to examine details of the flow pattern and rotational effect caused by the upward flow with the Commercial CFD （Computational Fluid Dynamics） package environment, FLUENT. The two-equation κ-ε model was used to simulate the turbulence. Multiphase fluid flow was numerically simulated by using the Volume of Fluid （VoF） method. The simulation can predict free surface waves and other phenomena, which can be used to optimize these important metallurgical operations.

Prostate cancer is the second leading cancer among men in the United States. Several studies have correlated the development of prostate cancer with diet and life-style. Therefore, a balanced diet and improved life style might inhibit prostate cancer progression. Cancer chemoprevention has emerged as an important factor in controlling cancer development through natural or synthetic compounds. Oxidative stress is among the factors contributing to prostate cancer development. The transcription factor nuclear factor(erythroid-derived 2)-like 2(Nrf2) controls detoxifying antioxidant enzymes expression by binding to the antioxidant response element(ARE) in the promoter of these genes to activate their expression. Many natural products can fight oxidative stress and protects cells from DNA damage by activating the Nrf2/ARE pathway. high consumption of fruits and vegetables can reduce disease incidence and invasive tumors. In this review, the roles of important fruit and vegetable phytochemicals in regulating prostate cancer progression and tumor growth are discussed.
