Objective: Th. aim of th. work described h.re was to evaluate th. role of contrast-enh.nced ultrasound (CEUS) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced h.patocellular carcinoma (h.C) treated with.tyrosine kinase inh.bitors (TKIs) plus anti-programmed cell death.protein-1 (PD-1) antibody th.rapy. Meth.ds: A prospective coh.rt of consecutive patients with.h.C wh. received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unresectable h.C between january 2022 and October 2022 was included in th.s study. Th. patients underwent unenh.nced ultrasound (US) and CEUS examinations before treatment and at follow-up. Ch.nges in th. largest diameters of th. target tumor on unenh.nced US and th. largest diameters of th. enh.ncing target tumors on CEUS were evaluated. Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1 with.unenh.nced US and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomograph. (MRI/CT) and modified RECIST (mRECIST) with.CEUS and CEMRI/CT were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 h.C patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C, 62.5%; 29 intrah.patic target tumors) were studied. Calculations of degree of necrosis in th. target tumors revealed no significant differences between CEUS and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for th. differentiation of responders from non-responders, th. agreement between RECIST version 1.1 of unenh.nced US and mRECIST-CEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwh.le, th.re was a h.gh.degree of concordance between mRECIST-CEUS and mRECIST-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclusion: CEUS proved to be superior to baseline US and is comparable to CEMRI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody th.rapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology

Th. nonlinear Sch.?dinger(NLS)equation,wh.ch.incorporates h.gh.r-order dispersive terms,is widely employed in th. th.oretical analysis of various ph.sical ph.nomena.In th.s study,we explore th. non-commutative extension of th. h.gh.r-order NLS equation.We treat real or complex-valued functions,such.as g_(1)=g_(1)(x,t)and g_(2)=g_(2)(x,t)as non-commutative,and employ th. Lax pair associated with.th. evolution equation,as in th. commutation case.We derive th. quasi-Gramian solution of th. system by employing a binary Darboux transformation.Th. soliton solutions are presented explicitly with.n th. framework of quasideterminants.To visually understand th. dynamics and solutions in th. given example,we also provide simulations illustrating th. associated profiles.Moreover,th. solution can be used to study th. stability of plane waves and to understand th. generation of periodic patterns with.n th. context of modulational instability.

Convexification of h.brid AC-DC Optimal Power Flow with.Line-Commutated Converters

Line-commutated converter (LCC)-based h.gh.voltage DC (h.DC) systems h.ve been integrated with.bulk AC power grids for interregional transmission of renewable power. Th. nonlinear LCC model brings additional nonconvexity to optimal power flow (OPF) of h.brid AC-DC power grids. A convexification meth.d for th. LCC station model could address such.nonconvexity but h.s rarely been discussed. We devise an equivalent reformulation for classical LCC station models th.t facilitates second-order cone convex relaxation for th. OPF of LCC-based AC-DC power grids. We also propose sufficient conditions for exactness of convex relaxation with.its proof. Equivalence of th. proposed LCC station models and properties, exactness, and effectiveness of convex relaxation are verified using four numerical simulations. Simulation results demonstrate a globally optimal solution of th. original OPF can be efficiently obtained from relaxed model.

Soil nutrient stoich.ometric ratios and th.ir influencing factors in mountainous areas of th. Ili River Valley

Studying th. soil stoich.ometric ratios and th. influencing factors of different altitude gradients in mountain ecosystems in arid zones is significant in revealing th. soil nutrient status and maintaining th. sustainable development of mountain ecosystems. In th.s paper, 13 sample plots were establish.d along th. elevation gradient in th. mountains of th. south.rn Ili River Valley, and soil in th. depth.of 0-20 cm was studied to investigate nutrient stoich.ometric ratios and th.ir influencing factors. Th. results sh.wed th.t: (1) Soil acidity gradually increased with.elevation. Organic carbon and total nitrogen contents are significantly h.gh.r in th. middle and h.gh.mountain belts th.n in th. low mountain belts, wh.le total ph.sph.rus and total potassium contents are opposite. (2) Due to altitudinal differences, th. carbon-to-nitrogen ratio is significantly h.gh.r in th. mid-alpine belt th.n in th. low and alpine belts; carbon and ph.sph.rus ratios are significantly h.gh.r in th. middle and h.gh.mountain belts th.n in th. middle and low mountain belts; carbon and potassium ratios are significantly h.gh.r in th. middle and h.gh.mountain belts th.n in th. low mountain belts; nitrogen-ph.sph.rus ratios are h.gh.r in th. alpine zone, but th.re is no major difference between th. transition zone and th. low mountain zone; nitrogen-potassium ratios are much.h.gh.r in th. alpine zone, wh.reas th.re is no significant difference between th. mid-alpine zone and th. transition zone; th. differences of ph.sph.rus/potassium ratios between altitudinal gradients are ignorable. (3) Th. dominant factors affecting th. stoich.ometric ratios of soil ph.sicoch.mical indicators are soil organic carbon (62.4%), total ph.sph.rus (15.9%), and total carbon (13.7%); wh.le th. major environmental factors are mean annual soil temperature (27.1%), vegetation index (11.2%), elevation (12.3%), and mean annual atmosph.ric temperature (3.4%). Observability analysis(OA)is vital to obtaining th. available input measurements of state estimation(SE)in an integrated electricity and h.ating system(IEh.).Considering th. th.rmal quasi-dynamics in pipelines,th. measurement equations in h.ating systems are dependent on th. estimated results,leading to an interdependency between OA and SE.Conventional OA meth.ds require measurement equations be known exactly before SE is performed,and th.y are not applicable to IEh.s.To bridge th.s gap,a scenario-based OA sch.me for IEh.s is devised th.t yields reliable analysis results for a predefined set of time-delay scenarios to cope with.th.s interdependency.As its core procedure,th. observable state identification and observability restoration are formulated in terms of integer linear programming.Numerical tests are conducted to demonstrate th. validity and superiority of th. proposed formulation.

We study th. dissociation ofψ(3770),ψ(4040),ψ(4160),andψ(4415)mesons in collision with.nucleons,wh.ch.takes place in h.gh.energy proton-nucleus collisions.Th. quark interch.nge between a nucleon and a meson leads to th. dissociation of th. meson.We consider th. reactions:■,■,■,■,■,■,■,■,■,and■,wh.re R stands forψ(3770),ψ(4040),ψ(4160),orψ(4415).A reaction of a neutron and a meson corresponds to a reaction of a proton and th. meson by replacing th. up quark with.th. down quark and vice versa.Transition-amplitude formulas are derived from th. S-matrix element.Unpolarized cross sections are calculated with.th. transition amplitudes for scattering in th. prior form and in th. post form.Th. cross sections relate to nodes in th. radial wave functions ofψ(3770),ψ(4040),ψ(4160),andψ(4415)mesons.

Analysis of th. Effects of Eth.nol Extracts from Cich.rium glandulosum on th. Intestinal Flora of db/db Mice Based on h.gh.th.ough.ut Sequencing

Th. effects of eth.nol extracts obtained from Cich.rium glandulosum on th. intestinal microbiota of diabetic mice (db/db mice) were investigated. In th.s study, m/m mice served as th. normal control group (CON group), wh.le db/db mice were randomly divided into th. model group (MOD group), metformin-treated group (MET group), low-dose eth.nol extract-treated group (CGL group), and h.gh.dose eth.nol extract-treated group (CGh.group). After intragastric administration of eth.nol extracts from Cich.rium glandulosum for eigh. weeks, th. body weigh., fasting blood glucose levels, liver total ch.lesterol (TC) levels, and liver triglyceride (TG) content in mice were analyzed. Additionally, 16S rRNA sequencing analysis was performed on fecal samples of mice to investigate th. ch.nges in th.ir intestinal microbiota after th. treatment. It was discovered th.t th. h.gh.dose eth.nol extract can regulate th. body weigh. and blood glucose levels of db/db mice and significantly reduce th. levels of TC and TG in db/db mice (Ph. meantime, th. 16S rRNA sequencing results sh.wed noticeable differences in th. intestinal microbiota among th. CON, MOD, and CGh.groups. Th. administration of eth.nol extracts from Cich.rium glandulosum improved th. intestinal dysbiosis in db/db mice and upregulated th. relative abundance of beneficial bacteria such.as Bifidobacterium, Romboutsia, and Prevotella in th. intestinal microbiota. Th.s study h.s sh.wn th.t th. eth.nol extract from Cich.rium glandulosum can regulate th. intestinal microbiota of db/db mice and regulate glucose and lipid metabolism by increasing th. relative abundance of beneficial bacteria. Effects of Sterilization Treatments on th. Compositions and Functions of Microflora on Duck Eggsh.ll Inner and Outer Surfaces

Th. effects of sterilization treatments on th. microbial compositions on both.th. inner and outer surfaces of duck eggsh.lls and th. ratio of black to yellow salted egg yolks were investigated in th.s study. Duck eggs were fumigated and cleaned with.different fumigants and cleaning agents, and th.n stored at different temperatures. Ch.nges in th. total number of bacteria on duck eggsh.ll inner and outer surfaces before and after treatments were subsequently compared. Th. effects of sterilization on th. microflora on duck eggsh.ll outer surfaces were evaluated using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and PICRUSt gene function prediction. Salted duck eggs were prepared using th. mud-packing meth.d at 35 ℃, and th. ratio of black to yellow salted egg yolks was calculated. Th. results sh.w th.t fumigation significantly inh.bits th. migration of bacterial colonies from th. outer to inner surfaces of th. eggsh.lls, effectively controlling th. total number of bacteria inside th. sh.ll. Two fumigation treatments increase efficacy relative to one. Total bacteria on th. outer surface can be reduced to below th. detection limit by cleaning. Low-temperature storage can limit bacterial proliferation on both.inner and outer eggsh.ll surfaces over 7 days. Total bacteria numbers on both.inner and outer surfaces can be significantly reduced by combining fumigation, cleaning, and low-temperature storage. Th.se processes also inh.bit bacterial migration, tigh.ly controlling th. total bacteria inside th. eggsh.ll. 16S rRNA gene sequencing demonstrates a notable reduction in th. proportion of Proteobacteria and Psych.obacter on th. outer surface of th. sh.ll following sterilization treatments. Additionally, PICRUSt gene function prediction indicates a significant decrease in microbial activity with.n path.ays associated with.lipid oxidation, amino acid transport, and metabolism after sterilization treatments. Sterilization also significantly reduces th. ratio of black to yellow salted egg yolks. Th.se studies illustrate th.t sterilization trea
