Sh.ar Effects in Sh.kedown Analysis of Offsh.re Structures

In th.s paper, a formulation for sh.kedown analysis of elastic-plastic offsh.re structures under cyclic wave loading is presented. In th.s formulation, a fast numerical solution meth.d is used, suitable for th. Finite Element Meth.d (FEM) analysis of large offsh.re structures on wh.ch.sh.ar effects in addition to bending and axial effects are taken into account. Th. Morison equation is adopted for converting th. velocity and acceleration terms into resultant forces and it is extended to consider arbitrary orientations of th. structural members. Th. th.oretical meth.ds of th. sh.kedown analysis are discussed in detail and th. formulation is applied to an offsh.re structure to verify th. concept employed and its analytical capabilities.

Th.s research.investigates a numerical simulation of swirling turbulent non-premixed *** effects on th. combustion ch.racteristics are examined with.th.ee turbulence models:namely as th. Reynolds stress model,spectral turbulence analysis and Re-Normalization *** addition,th. P-1 and discrete ordinate(DO)models are used to simulate th. radiative h.at transfer in th.s *** governing equations associated with.th. required boundary conditions are solved using th. numerical *** accuracy of th.s model is validated with.th. publish.d experimental data and th. comparison elucidates th.t th.re is a reasonable agreement between th. obtained values from th.s model and th. corresponding experimental *** different models proposed in th.s research.th. Reynolds stress model with.th. Probability Density Function(PDF)approach.is more accurate(nearly up to 50%)th.n oth.r turbulent models for a swirling flow *** th. effect of radiative h.at transfer model,it is observed th.t th. discrete ordinate model is more precise th.n th. P-1 model in anticipating th. experimental *** model is able to simulate th. subcritical nature of th. isoth.rmal flow as well as th. size and sh.pe of th. internal recirculation induced by th. swirl due to combustion.

Miniaturization of electronic equipment h.s forced research.rs to devise more effective meth.ds for dissipating th. generated h.at in th.se *** th.s study,two meth.ds,including porous media inserting and adding nanoparticles to th. base fluid,are used to improve h.at transfer in an annulus h.ated on both.*** study porous media insert,porous ribs are used on th. outer and inner walls *** results sh.w th.t wh.n porous ribs are placed on th. outer wall,alth.ugh.th. h.at transfer enh.nces,th. pressure drop increment is so considerable th.t performance number (th. ratio of h.at transfer enh.ncement pressure increment,PN) is less th.n unity for all porous rib h.igh.s and porous media permeabilities th.t are *** th. oth.r h.nd,th. PN of cases wh.re porous ribs were placed on th. inner wall depends on th. Darcy number (Da).For example,for ribs with.Da=0.1 and Da=0.0001,th. maximum performance number,PN=4,occurs at th. porous ribs h.igh. to h.draulic diameter ratios h.Dh.1 and h.Dh.*** th.se conditions,h.at transfer is enh.nced by two orders of *** is found th.t adding 5% nanoparticles to th. base fluid in th. two aforementioned cases improves th. Nusselt number and PN by 10%–40%.

Background:Ph.sical inactivity is a major public h.alth.problem worldwide th.t results in ph.sical and mental h.alth.*** major issue for ph.sical inactivity is weigh. stigma(WS),especially perceived WS,wh.ch.could lead to a tendency to avoid ph.sical activity(PA).To better understand th. association between perceived WS and PA,knowledge of th. likely mediators in th.s association such.as weigh. bias internalization(WBI)and psych.logical distress were investigated in th. present ***:Using a two-wave longitudinal study and convenient sampling,388 Taiwan residents participants(55%females;mean age=29.7 years[SD±6.3])completed two surveys six month. *** mass index(BMI),Perceived Weigh. Stigma Scale(PWSS),Weigh. Bias Internalization Scale(WBIS),Depression,Anxiety,Stress Scale(DASS-21),and Tendency to Avoid Ph.sical Activity and Sport Scale(TAPAS)were ***:A mediation model controlling for age,gender,and BMI with.5000 bootstrapping resamples was *** WS exerted significant direct effects on WBI(β=0.25;ph.logical distress(β=0.15;p=0.003),and tendency to avoid PA(β=0.10;p=0.027);WBI exerted a significant direct effect on tendency to avoid PA(β=0.47;ph.logical distress on th. association between perceived WS and tendency to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01,***:Given th. direct association of perceived WS on th. tendency to avoid PA and th. mediating role of WBI in th.s association,interventions addressing perceived WS and WBI may contribute to promoting ***,h.alth.interventionists(both.wh.n planning and executing PA programs)need to consider weigh. stigmawh.n encouraging ph.sical activity.
