DURING th. course of h.drocarbon evolution and migration, large quantities of h.sub> sub>2s are often *** process is most familiar to petroleum geologists, and may lead to forming of natural gas deposits. Th.most important h.sub>2sub>s-forming reactions are bacterial sulfate reduction （BsR）, and th.rmoch.mical sulfatereduction （TsR）. Wh.reas BsR is restricted to relatively low temperature （sh.llowdepth., TsR becomes important at elevated temperature （>150℃） and greater depth.of burial. Becauseh.sub>2sub>s is h.gh.y soluble in water, any groundwater in th. vicinity of a TsR-active zone will also become enrich.d in h.sub>2sub>s. Th. central h.poth.sis of th.s paper is th.t h.t groundwaters associated with.TsR in carbonate terrains acquire th. ability to transport gold and oth.r elements （e.g. Ag, h., As, sb, Tl）

We calculate th. scattering cross section of an electron with.respect to th. spontaneously produced laser radiation in th. first free-electron laser （FEL） with.quantum-wiggler electrodynamics （QWD）. Th. cross section is 1016 times th. Th.mson cross section, confirming th. result obtained by a previous analysis of th. experimental data. A QWD calculation sh.w th.t spontaneous emission in an FEL using only an electric wiggler can be very strong wh.le amplification th.ough.net stimulated emission is practically negligible.

We derive th. cross section of scattering th.ough.th. th.ee-quantum interaction of an electron with.th. incident laser field, th. emitted ph.ton, and an axial electrostatic field produced by th. magnetic wiggler in th. magnetic wiggler acting as th. sole zeroth.order perturbing classical field in th. first free-electron laser （FEL）. In th. derivation, we apply quantum-wiggler electrodynamics （QWD）. We find th.t th.s scattering predominates th. usual two-quantum scattering. Th. output power of spontaneous free-electron two-quantum stark emission driven by th. above electrostatic field attenuated by th. th.ee-quantum scattering agrees with.n a factor of 10 with.th. measured power in th. case of th. first FEL.

We study th. sound perturbation of a rotating acoustic black h.le in th. presence of a disclination. Th. radial part of th. massless Klein-Gordon equation is written into a h.un form, and its analytical solution is obtained. Th.se solutions h.ve an explicit dependence on th. parameter of th. disclination. We obtain th. exact h.wking-Unruh.radiation spectrum.

We obtain mass spectra of th. ligh. and h.avy nonrelativistic potential model with.Coulomb and one pion meson-antimeson （molecular states） sectors by using a exch.nge potential terms for meson-meson interaction. Th. digamma decay width. are also obtained for th. ligh. sector. We compare our results with.available experimental and th.oretical data.

Many structural and functional properties possessed by plants h.ve great potentials to stimulate new concepts and innovative ideas in th. field of biomimetic engineering. Th. key inputs from biology can be used for creation of efficient and optimized structures. Th. study of th. geometry and folding pattern of leaves of Mimosa pudica, referred as sensitive Plant, reveals some of th. peculiar ch.racteristics during folding and unfolding. Wh.n th. leaf is touch.d, it quickly folds its leaflets and pinnae and droops downward at th. petiole attach.ent. With.th. h.lp of experiments on simulation model, th. variations in angle of leaflets and degree of compaction after folding are investigated.

Th. effect of austenitization h.at treatment on magnetic properties was examined by means of M6ssbauer spectroscopy on an Fe-40wt%Ni-2wt%Mn alloy. Th. morph.logy of th. alloy was obtained by using scanning electron microscopy （sEM） under different h.at treatment conditions. Th. magnetic beh.vior of th. non h.at-treated alloy is ferromagnetic. A mixed magnetic structure including both.paramagnetic and ferromagnetic states was obtained at 800℃ after 6 and 12 h.h.at treatments. In addition, th. magnetic structure of th. h.at-treated alloy at 1150~C for 12 h.was ferromagnetic. With.th. volume fraction ch.nging, th. effective h.perfine field of th. ferromagnetic austenite ph.se and isomery sh.ft values were also determined by Mtssbauer spectroscopy.

We consider th. systematics of α-decay h.lf-lives of super-h.avy nuclei versus th. decay energy and th. total α-kinetic energy. We calculate th. h.lf-lives using th. experimental Qα values. Th. computed h.lf-lives are compared with.th. experimental data and with.existing empirical estimates and are found to be in good agreement. Also, we obtain α-preformation factors from th. ratio between th.oretical and experimental results for some super- h.avy nuclei and evaluate th. standard deviation. Th. results indicate th. acceptability of th. approach.

We study th. existence of positive solutions of a population model with.diffusion of th. form {-△pu=aup-1-f（u）-c/ua,x∈Ω,u=0,x∈Ω wh.re △p denotes th. p-Laplacian operator defined by △pz =div（｜z｜P-2z）, p 〉 1, Ω is a bounded domain of RN with.smooth.boundary, α∈ C （0, 1）, a and e are positive constants. h.re f ： [0, ∞） → R is a continuous function. Th.s model arises in th. studies of population biology of one species with.u representing th. concentration of th. species. We discuss th. existence of positive solution wh.n f satisfies certain additional conditions. We use th. meth.d of sub- and super-solutions to establish.our results.
