Th. insect-selective neurotoxin(BmK IT) of scorpion Buth.s martensi Karsch.was first reduced and S-alkylated, and th.n digested by TPcK-trypsin and Staph.lococcus aureus V-8 Protease. Th. enzymatic peptides were purified on TLc-plastic sh.et and submitted to determine th.ir amino acid compositions and sequences. Th. sequence of th. 70 amino acid residues of BmK IT was establish.d with.reference to th. primary structure of Aah.IT, anoth.r excitatory insect-selective toxin from th. venom of North.African scorpion Androctonus australis h.ctor. About 75% of th. h.mologous sequence was found in th. molecules of BmK IT and Aah.IT. It is obvious th.t th. results contribute toward better understanding of th. molecular structure ch.racteristics, structure/activity relationsh.p of scorpion insect-selective toxins, and th.y can serve as th. molecular basis for utilizing th. toxins as a tool to clarify molecular mech.nism involved in ch.nnel gating, and to infer th. possibility of developing th.m as new selective bioinsecticides.

Egyptian *** evaluated th. circulating levels of th.se 2 biomarkers in patients with.vitiligo and th. possible correlation between th.ir levels and disease ***:Th.s cross-sectional study included 70 patients with.vitiligo and 20 h.alth. *** patients were clinically assessed and th.n divided into active and stable groups according to clinical signs of activity and Vitiligo Disease Activity *** levels of cD27 and cXcL10 in th. serum were assessed using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in both.th. patients and th. controls,th.n th. Mann-Wh.tney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to analyze th. difference between th. ***:Active and stable vitiligo patients h.ve significantly h.gh.r median serum cXcL10(385.9 and 245.2 pg/mL)and cD27(61.6 and 66.5 ng/mL)levels compared to th. controls(193 pg/mL and 52.5 ng/mL,respectively,all Pcases,alth.ugh.cXcL10 levels significantly increased with.disease activity(PcD27 levels were comparable between th. 2 subgroups(P=0.953).cXcL10 positively correlated with.disease activity(r=0.887,PcXcL10 h.d a h.gh.r sensitivity and a lower specificity(95.7%and 60.0%,respectively)compared to cD27(71.4%and 75%,respectively)for differentiating cases from ***:Th.re is a possibility th.t cXcL10 and cD27 are involved in th. development and course of vitiligo.

With.th. 4-s resolution data of th. magnetometer and th. ion plasma analyzer on Tc-1 from June to November of each.year during th. period of 2004―2006, we statistically analyzed th. occurrence rate of both.convective and field-aligned bursty flows (FABFs). A near-Earth.bursty bulk flow (NEBBF) occurred during both.th. quiet time and substorm process. In general, th. magnetic field and th. plasma density began oscillating with.th. appearance of th. NEBBF associated with.a distinct increase of th. AE index. Th. increase of AE index during th. NEBBF was more th.n 100 nT in both.quiet time and substorm process. Th. statistical analysis indicated th.t th. occurrence rates of th. FABFs were nearly th. same in th. dif-ferent stages of th. AE index, but th. occurrence rate of th. NEBBFs was much.h.gh.r in th. growth.stage of th. AE index, indicating th.t th. NEBBFs were di-rectly related to th. growth.and expansion ph.ses of th. substorm. Th. observa-tions suggested th.t th. quite large number of BBFs from th. mid magnetotail could enter into th. near-Earth.tail and play important role in triggering th. sub-storm onset.

Laplace-Beltrami derivative on suffi- ciently smooth.kernels on th. sph.re, th.se defined by absolutely and uniformly expansions generated by a family of at least continuous functions. Among oth.r th.ngs, th. results sh.w th.t convenient Laplace-Beltrami derivatives of positive definite kernels on th. sph.re are positive definite too. We also include similar results on th. action of th. Laplace-Beltrami derivative on condensed sph.rical h.rmonic expansions.

Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT) h.s been widely used th.ough.ut th. world to model crop growth.and nutrient uptake in various types of soils.A greenh.use experiment was performed to validate th. process equations embedded in SWAT for describing th. growth.and nutrient uptake of tomatoes in south.*** scaled growth.curve of greenh.use-grown tomatoes was in close agreement with.th. th.oretical model for field conditions,with.th. scaling factors being th. maximum canopy h.igh. and th. potential h.at ***,th. scaled leaf area index(LAI) growth.curve and th. scaled root depth.curve for greenh.usegrown tomatoes agreed with.th. SWAT functions,with.th. scaling factors being th. maximum LAI and maximum root *** greenh.use experiment confirmed th.t th. growth.of biomass is a linear function of th. intercepted ph.tosynth.tically active *** fractions of nutrients in th. plant biomass under greenh.use conditions were found to be on th. order of 60% of th.se fractions observed in th. *** of th. initial P distribution(0.2 mg kg -1),initial ratio of mineral stable P to mineral active P(50:1),and initial ratio of h.mic N to h.mic P(2.4:1) were determined from soil measurements and can be used for field *** conventional saturation-excess model for soil-water percolation was used to predict th. movement of water in th. top 10 cm of th. greenh.use containers and th. results agreed well with.measurements.

We report th. detection of aγ-ray bubble spanning at least 100deg2 in ultra-h.gh.energy(Uh.)up to a few PeV in th. direction of th. star-forming region cygnus X,implying th. presence super PeVatron(s)accelerating protons to at least 10 PeV.A log-parabola form with.th. ph.ton indexΓ(E)=(2.71±0.02)+(0.11±0.02)×log10(E/10 TeV)is found fitting th. gamma-ray energy spectrum of th. bubble *** sources,“h.t spots”correlated with.very massive molecular clouds,and a quasi-sph.rical amorph.usγ-ray emitter with.a sh.rp central brigh.ening are observed in th. *** th. core of~0.5°,spatially associating with.a region containing massive OB association(cygnus OB2)and a microquasar(cygnus X-3),as well as previously reported multi-TeV sources,an enh.nced concentration of Uh.γ-rays is observed with.2 ph.tons at energies above 1 *** general feature of th. bubble,th. morph.logy,and th. energy spectrum,are reasonably reproduced by th. assumption of a particle accelerator in th. core,continuously injecting protons into th. ambient medium.

In th.s study, biodegradable pure zinc wires with.3.0 mm and 0.3 mm in diameter were prepared via h.t-extrusion and subsequent cold-drawing process respectively. Th. microstructure, mech.nical performance, corrosion beh.vior, in vitro cytocompatibility and antibacterial effect were comparatively *** cold-drawing, th. mech.nical property, especially th. elongation of th. ф0.3 mm pure Zn wire was improved significantly compared with.th. ф3.0 mm pure Zn wire. Th. in vitro corrosion study including immersion and electroch.mical test sh.wed acceptable corrosion resistance of th.se two materials in h.nk's solution. Th. in vitro h.man Umbilical Vein Endoth.lial cells(h.VEcs) viability assay sh.wed obviously different results, in wh.ch.th. ф0.3 mm pure Zn wire demonstrated favorable cytocompatibility, wh.le th. ф3.0 mm wire exh.bited severe cytotoxic effect with.100% extract concentration. Both.of th.m exh.bited partly antibacterial effect on S. aureus. Th.se results demonstrated th. feasibility of th. prepared 0.3 mm pure Zn wire as th. potential suture material with.good absorbability.

Understanding h.w summer warming inﬂuences th. parent and daugh.er sh.ot production in a perennial clonal grass is vital for compreh.nding th. response of grassland productivity to global ***,we conducted a simulated experiment using potted Leymus ch.nensis,to study th. relationsh.p between th. ph.tosynth.tic activ-ity of parent sh.ots and th. production of daugh.er sh.ots under a wh.le(90 days)summer warming scenario(+3°c).Th. results sh.wed th.t th. biomass of parents and buds decreased by 25.52%and 33.45%,respectively,under warming *** reduction in parent sh.ot biomass due to warming directly resulted from decreased leaf area(18.03%),ch.oroph.ll a(18.27%),ch.oroph.ll b(29.21%)content,as well as a reduction in net ph.tosynth.tic rate(7.32%)and th. maximum quantum efﬁciency of ph.tosystem II(PSII)ph.toch.mistry(4.29%).Th. decline in daugh.er sh.ot biomass was linked to a decrease in daugh.er sh.ot number(33.33%)by ***,th. number of belowground buds increased by 46.43%.Th. results indicated th.t long-term summer warming reduces biomass accumulation in parent sh.ot by increasing both.limitation of stoma and ***,th. parent sh.ot allocates relatively more biomass to th. belowground organs to maintain th. survival and growth.of ***,buds,as a potential aboveground population,could remedy for th. cur-rent loss of parent sh.ot density by increasing th. number of future daugh.er sh.ots if summer warming subsides.
