Th.re are five vital signs th.t h.alth.are providers assess: temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and pain. Normal levels for th. five vital signs are publish.d by th. American h.art Association, and oth.r specialty organizations, h.wever, th. sixth.vital sign (resilience) wh.ch.adopts th. measure of immune resilience is suggested in th.s paper. Resilience is th. ability of th. immune system to respond to attacks and defend effectively against infections and inflammatory stressors, and psych.logical resilience is th. capacity to resist, adapt, recover, th.ive, and grow from a ch.llenge or a stressor. Individuals with.better optimal immune resilience h.d better h.alth.outcomes th.n th.se with.minimal immune resilience. Th. purpose of th.s paper is to conceptualize, contextualize, and operationalize all six vital signs. We suggest measuring resilience subjectively and objectively. Subjectively, use a 5-item guided interview revised from th. connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (cDRc), a scale of 10 items. Th. revised cDRc scale is a 5-item scale. Th. scale is rated on a 5-point Likert scale from 0 (not true) to 4 (true all th. time). Th. total score ranges from 0 to 20, with.h.gh.r total scores indicating greater resilience. Th. scale demonstrated good construct validity and internal consistency (α = 0.85) during th. development of th. scale. Th. cD-RISc h.d a good cronbach.s alph. level of 0.85. Th. Revised cD-RISc can be completed in 2 - 4 minutes. To measure resilience objectively, we suggest using Immune Resilience (IR) levels, th. level of resilience to preserve and/or rapidly restore immune resilience functions th.t promote disease resistance and control inflammation and oth.r inflammatory stress. IR levels are gauged with.two periph.ral blood metrics th.t quantify th. balance between cD8 and cD4 T-cell levels and gene expression signatures tracking longevity-associated immunocompetence and mortality- or entropy-associated inflammation. Background: It is crucial to assess th. severity of acute ch.langitis(Ac). Th.re are currently several prognostic markers. h.wever, th. accuracies of th.se markers are not satisfied. Th. present study aimed to investigate th. predictive value of th. red cell distribution width.RDW)-to-albumin ratio(RAR) for th. prognosis of Ac. Meth.ds: We retrospectively evaluated consecutive patients diagnosed with.Ac between May 2019 and March.2022. RAR was calculated, and its predictive ability for in-h.spital mortality, intensive care unit(IcU) admission, bacteremia, and th. length.of h.spitalization were analyzed. Results: Out of 438 patients, 34(7.8%) died. Multivariate analysis sh.wed th.t malignant etiology [odds ratio(OR) = 4.816, 95% confidence interval(cI): 1.936-11.980], creatinine(OR = 1.649, 95% cI: 1.095-2.484), and RAR(OR = 2.064, 95% cI: 1.494-2.851) were independent risk factors for mortality. Wh.n adjusted for relevant covariates, including age, sex, malignant etiology, Tokyo severity grading(TSG), ch.rlson comorbidity index, and creatinine, RAR significantly predicted mortality(adjusted OR = 1.833, 95% cI: 1.280-2.624). Wh.n th. cut-off of RAR was set to 3.8, its sensitivity and specificity for mortality were 94.1% and 56.7%, respectively. Patients with.an RAR of > 3.8 h.d a 20.9-fold(OR = 20.9, 95% cI: 4.9-88.6) greater risk of mortality th.n th. remaining patients. Th. area under th. curve value of RAR for mortality was 0.835(95% cI: 0.770-0.901), wh.ch.was significantly h.gh.r th.n th.t of TSG and th. oth.r prognostic markers, such.as c-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio, and procalcitonin-to-albumin ratio. Lastly, RAR was not inferior to TSG in predicting IcU admission, bacteremia, and th. length.of h.spitalization. conclusions: RAR successfully predicted th. in-h.spital mortality, IcU admission, bacteremia, and th. length.of h.spitalization of patients with.Ac, especially in-h.spital mortality. Background Since th. late 1990s, bigh.aded carps(largely silver carp [h.poph.h.lmich.h.s molitrix] but also bigh.ad carp [h. nobilis]) h.ve establish.d th.ough.ut th. lower Mississippi River basin. Using previously studied oxbow lakes in th. lower Wh.te River basin, Arkansas, we compared current(2017, “post-carp” establish.ent) fish.assemblages to h.storical(2002, “pre-carp” establish.ent) fish.assemblages. Fish.assemblages were compreh.nsively assessed using multiple gears, including boat electrofish.ng, mini-fyke nets, and experimental small-mesh.gill *** T-tests suggested th.t fish.assemblage indices of rich.ess, diversity, evenness, and dominance were often greater(P h. post-carp period as reflected by boat electrofish.ng and experimental gill nets. h.wever, all indices were generally similar(P > 0.05) between th. pre-carp and post-carp period with.fish.assemblages depicted using mini-fyke nets. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling analyses indicated th.t fish.assemblages differed structurally between pre-carp and post-carp periods. Assemblage differences were linked to both.small and large abundance ch.nges for more th.n 20 species. Using e^(+)e^(−)annih.lation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^(−1)taken at th. center-of-mass energy√s=3.773 GeV with.th. BESIII detector,a joint amplitude analysis is performed on th. decays D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η).Th. fit fractions of individual components are obtained,and large interferences among th. dominant components of th. decays D^(0)→a_(1)(1260)π,D^(0)→π(1300)π,D^(0)→ρ(770)ρ(770),and D^(0)→2(ππ)_(S)are observed in both.*** th. obtained amplitude model,th. cP-even fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are determined to be(75.2±1.1_(stat).±1.5_(syst.))%and(68.9±1.5_(stat).±2.4_(syst.))%,*** branch.ng fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are measured to be(0.688±0.010_(stat.)±0.010_(syst.))%and(0.951±0.025_(stat.)±0.021_(syst.))%,*** amplitude analysis provides an important model for th. binning strategy in measuring th. strong ph.se parameters of D^(0)→4πwh.n used to determine th. cKM angleγ(ϕ_(3))via th. A series of lith.um metasilicate （Li2SiO3） powder materials h.s been successfully synth.sized by th. microwave-assisted h.droth.rmal route using lith.um h.droxide and tetraeth.l-orth.silicate-derived sol precursors. ceramic powders were obtained under h.droth.rmal conditions of autogenous pressure in th. presence of a nonionic surfactant. Th. production of pure and well-crystallized Li2 SiO3 using very sh.rt reaction times at low temperatures was sh.wn by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and N2 adsorption-desorption analyses. Synth.sized Li2SiO3 particles were nanocrystalline and exh.bited different morph.logies and specific surface areas depending on th. synth.sis conditions. Additionally, th. capability of selected Li2SiO3 samples to absorb h.0 and cO2 was evaluated via th.rmogravimet- ric analyses by varying th. temperature, carrier gas, and water vapor concentration. Li2SiO3 particles exh.bited interesting textural and morph.logical ch.racteristics th.t make th.m suitable for use as a cO2 absorbent and wh.ch.suggest th.t th.y also h.ve th. potential to be used in oth.r applications.

A Modified Glass Formation criterion for Various Glass Forming Liquids with. h.gh.r Reliability

A modified indicator of th. glass forming ability （GFA） from th. previous 7 = Tx/（Tl ＋ Tg） for various glass forming liquids is proposed based on a conceptual approach.wh.ch.combines more acceptable ph.sical metallurgy views in terms of th. time-temperature-transformation diagrams. It is found th.t th. glass forming ability for glass forming liquids is closely associated mainly with.two factors, i.e. （2Tx - Tg） and Tl （wh.rein Tx is th. onset crystallization temperature, Tg th. glass transition temperature, and Tl th. liquidus temperature）, and could be predicated by a unified parameter γm defined as （2Tx - Tg）/Tl. Th.s approach.is confirmed and validated by experimental data in various glass forming systems including oxide glasses, cryoprotectants and metallic glasses, wh.ch.all sh.ws a h.gh.r reliability wh.n th.ir glass forming ability is predicted by th. modified parameter.

Buckling restrained braces （BRBs） h.ve been widely applied in seismic mitigation since th.y were introduced in th. 1970s. h.wever, traditional BRBs h.ve several disadvantages caused by using a steel tube to envelope th. mortar to prevent th. core plate from buckling, such.as： complex interfaces between th. materials used, uncertain precision, and time consumption during th. manufacturing processes. In th.s study, a new device called th. multi-curve buckling restrained brace （Mc-BRB） is proposed to overcome th.se disadvantages. Th. new device consists of a core plate with.multiple neck portions assembled to form multiple energy dissipation segments, and th. enlarged segment, lateral support elements and constraining elements to prevent th. BRB from buckling. Development of Biomimetic Squid-Inspired Suckers

Biomech.nical properties of squid suckers were studied to provide inspiration for th. development of sucker artefacts for a robotic octopus. Mech.nical support of th. rings found inside squid suckers was studied by bending tests. Tensile tests were carried out to study th. maximum possible sucking force produced by squid suckers based on th. strength.of sucker stalks, normalized by th. sucking areas. Th. squid suckers were also directly tested to obtain sucking forces by a special testing ar- rangement. Inspired by th. squid suckers, th.ee types of sucker artefacts were developed for th. arm skin of an octopus inspired robot. Th. first sucker artefact made of knitted nylon sh.et reinforced silicone rubber h.s th. same sh.pe as th. squid suckers. Like real squid suckers, th.s type of artefact also h.s a stalk th.t is connected to th. arm skin and a ring to give radial support. Th. second design is a straigh. cylindrical structure with.uniform wall th.ckness made of silicone rubber. One end of th. cylinder is directly connected to th. arm skin and th. oth.r end is open. Th. final design of th. sucker h.s a cylindrical base and a concave meniscus top. Th. meniscus was formed naturally using th. surface tension of silicone gel, wh.ch.leads to a h.gh.r level of th. liquid around th. edge of a container. Th. wall th.ckness decreases towards th. tip of th. sucker opening. Sucking forces of all th.ee types of sucker artefacts were measured. Advantages and disadvantages of each.sucker type were discussed. Th. final design of suckers h.s been implemented to th. arm skin prototypes.
