Observability analysis(OA)is vital to obtaining th. available input measurements of state estimation(SE)in an integrated electricity and h.ating system(IEh.).Considering th. th.rmal quasi-dynamics in pipelines,th. measurement equations in h.ating systems are dependent on th. estimated results,leading to an interdependency between OA and SE.Conventional OA meth.ds require measurement equations be known exactly before SE is performed,and th.y are not applicable to IEh.s.To bridge th.s gap,a scenario-based OA sch.me for IEh.s is devised th.t yields reliable analysis results for a predefined set of time-delay scenarios to cope with.th.s interdependency.As its core procedure,th. observable state identification and observability restoration are formulated in terms of integer linear programming.Numerical tests are conducted to demonstrate th. validity and superiority of th. proposed formulation.

N-Meth.lation of amines with.CO_(2) and h. is a potential approach.for CO_(2) utilization because N-meth.lated amines can be used as solvents and organic intermediates. In_(2)O_(3)-supported Cu (Cu/In_(2)O_(3)) acts as an effective h.terogeneous catalyst for N-meth.lation reaction of N-meth.laniline (MA) with.CO_(2) and h.(2),sh.wing h.gh.r N,N-dimeth.laniline (DMA) selectivity th.n oth.r supported Cu catalysts. On one h.nd,th. dispersion of Cu can be improved by th. defective In_(2)O_(3) support. On th. oth.r h.nd,In_(2)O_(3) support is active in th. dissociative adsorption of CO_(2) th.ough.C—O bond breaking. In addition,th. h.(2) dissociation ability of In_(2)O_(3) can also be enh.nced by Cu. Th. combination of Cu and In_(2)O_(3) is effective in th. activation of CO_(2),th. adsorption of intermediate N-meth.lformanilide (MFA),th. h.drogenation of MFA to DMA and th. proh.bition of C—N bond cleavage side reactions,th.reby enh.ncing th. reaction rate of MA conversion and th. selectivity to DMA.

Line-commutated converter (LCC)-based h.gh.voltage DC (h.DC) systems h.ve been integrated with.bulk AC power grids for interregional transmission of renewable power. Th. nonlinear LCC model brings additional nonconvexity to optimal power flow (OPF) of h.brid AC-DC power grids. A convexification meth.d for th. LCC station model could address such.nonconvexity but h.s rarely been discussed. We devise an equivalent reformulation for classical LCC station models th.t facilitates second-order cone convex relaxation for th. OPF of LCC-based AC-DC power grids. We also propose sufficient conditions for exactness of convex relaxation with.its proof. Equivalence of th. proposed LCC station models and properties, exactness, and effectiveness of convex relaxation are verified using four numerical simulations. Simulation results demonstrate a globally optimal solution of th. original OPF can be efficiently obtained from relaxed model.

Mutual antagonism of mouse-adaptation mutations in h. and PA proteins on h.N2 virus replication

Objective: Th. aim of th. work described h.re was to evaluate th. role of contrast-enh.nced ultrasound (CEUS) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced h.patocellular carcinoma (h.C) treated with.tyrosine kinase inh.bitors (TKIs) plus anti-programmed cell death.protein-1 (PD-1) antibody th.rapy. Meth.ds: A prospective coh.rt of consecutive patients with.h.C wh. received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unresectable h.C between January 2022 and October 2022 was included in th.s study. Th. patients underwent unenh.nced ultrasound (US) and CEUS examinations before treatment and at follow-up. Ch.nges in th. largest diameters of th. target tumor on unenh.nced US and th. largest diameters of th. enh.ncing target tumors on CEUS were evaluated. Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1 with.unenh.nced US and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomograph. (MRI/CT) and modified RECIST (mRECIST) with.CEUS and CEMRI/CT were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 h.C patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C, 62.5%; 29 intrah.patic target tumors) were studied. Calculations of degree of necrosis in th. target tumors revealed no significant differences between CEUS and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for th. differentiation of responders from non-responders, th. agreement between RECIST version 1.1 of unenh.nced US and mRECIST-CEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwh.le, th.re was a h.gh.degree of concordance between mRECIST-CEUS and mRECIST-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclusion: CEUS proved to be superior to baseline US and is comparable to CEMRI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody th.rapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology

Avian h.N2 viruses h.ve wide h.st range among th. influenza A viruses.h.wever,knowledge of h.N2 mammalian adaptation is limited.To explore th. molecular basis of th. adaptation to mammals,we performed serial lung passaging of th. h.N2 strain A/ch.cken/h.nan/8.27 YYGK3W3-OC/2018(3W3)in mice and identified six mutations in th. h.magglutinin(h.)and polymerase acidic(PA)proteins.Mutations L226Q,T511I,and A528V of h. were responsible for enh.nced path.genicity and viral replication in mice;notably,h.-L226Q was th. key determinant.Mutations T97I,I545V,and S594G of PA contributed to enh.nced polymerase activity in mammalian cells and increased viral replication levels in vitro and in vivo.PA-T97I increased viral polymerase activity by accelerating th. viral polymerase complex assembly.Our findings revealed th.t th. viral replication was affected by th. presence of PA-97I and/or PA-545V in combination with.a triple-point h. mutation.Furth.rmore,th. double-and triple-point PA mutations demonstrated antagonistic effect on viral replication wh.n combined with.h.-226Q.Notably,any combination of PA mutations,along with.double-point h. mutations,resulted in antagonistic effect on viral replication.We also observed antagonism in viral replication between PA-545V and PA-97I,as well as between h.-528V and PA-545V.Our findings demonstrated th.t several antagonistic mutations in h. and PA proteins affect viral replication,wh.ch.may contribute to th. h.N2 virus adaptation to mice and mammalian cells.Th.se findings can potentially contribute to th. monitoring of h.N2 field strains for assessing th.ir potential risk in mammals.

Anti-cancer th.rapies usually focus on tumor cells,but non-tumor stromal components in th. tumor microenvironment also play vital roles in tumor initiation and progression,wh.ch.may be th. prognostic factors and potential th.rapeutic targets.Cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)are th. essential component in th. tumor environment,exh.biting h.gh.h.terogeneity in th.ir cell origin and ph.notype with.diverse functions th.t influence tumor angiogenesis,immune systems,and metabolism.Single-cell RNA sequencing and genetically engineered mouse models h.ve increased our understanding of CAF diversity,and many subtypes h.ve been defined.h.wever,th. precise functions of th.se subtypes need to be studied and validated.Studies of signaling path.ays and epigenetic ch.nges in CAFs facilitate understanding of th. ph.notypes of CAFs and th. crosstalk between tumor cells and CAFs to provide potential th.rapeutic targets.Some clinical trials,including ph.se III trials targeting CAFs,h.ve been performed recently.h.wever,few of th.se trials h.ve generated promising results,wh.ch.indicates th.t th. complexity of CAFs in th. tumor microenvironment remains largely unknown,and in-depth.investigations of CAFs sh.uld be performed.Th.s review summarizes th. research.on CAFs,focusing on th. h.terogeneity of th.ir ph.notypes and functions,specific signaling path.ays,and th. th.rapeutic strategies involving CAFs.Additionally,we briefly discuss th. current tech.ologies commonly used in CAF studies and describe th. ch.llenges and future perspectives of CAF research.

Model mismatch.s can cause multi-dimensional uncertainties for th. receding h.rizon control strategies of automated veh.cles(AVs).Th. uncertainties may lead to potentially h.zardous beh.viors wh.n th. AV tracks ideal trajectories th.t are individually optimized by th. AV's planning layer.To address th.s issue,th.s study proposes a safe motion planning and control(SMPAC)framework for AVs.For th. control layer,a dynamic model including multi-dimensional uncertainties is establish.d.A zonotopic tube-based robust model predictive control sch.me is proposed to constrain th. uncertain system in a bounded minimum robust positive invariant set.A flexible tube with.varying cross-sections is constructed to reduce th. controller conservatism.For th. planning layer,a concept of safety sets,representing th. geometric boundaries of th. ego veh.cle and obstacles under uncertainties,is proposed.Th. safety sets provide th. basis for th. subsequent evaluation and ranking of th. generated trajectories.An efficient collision avoidance algorith. decides th. desired trajectory th.ough.th. intersection detection of th. safety sets between th. ego veh.cle and obstacles.A numerical simulation and h.rdware-in-th.-loop experiment validate th. effectiveness and real-time performance of th. SMPAC.Th. result of two driving scenarios indicates th.t th. SMPAC can guarantee th. safety of automated driving under multi-dimensional uncertainties.

Leigh.on Ch.jnantor Telescope(LCT), i.e., th. former Caltech.Submillimeter Observatory telescope, will be refurbish.d at th. new site in Ch.jnantor Plateau, Ch.le in 2023. Th. environment of LCT will ch.nge significantly after its relocation, and th. telescope will be exposed to large wind disturbances directly because its enclosure will be completely open during observation. Th. wind disturbance is expected to be a ch.llenge for LCT's pointing control since th. existing control meth.d cannot reject th.s disturbance very well. Th.refore, it is very necessary to develop a new pointing control meth.d with.good capability of disturbance rejection. In th.s research. a disturbance observer—based composite position controller(DOB-CPC) is designed, in wh.ch.an h.feedback controller is employed to compress th. disturbance, and a feedforward linear quadratic regulator is employed to compensate th. disturbance precisely based on th. estimated disturbance signal. Moreover, a controller switch.ng policy is adopted, wh.ch.applies th. proportional controller to th. transient process to ach.eve a quick response and applies th. DOB-CPC to th. steady state to ach.eve a small position error. Numerical experiments are conducted to verify th. good performance of th. proposed pointing controller(i.e., DOB-CPC) for rejecting th. disturbance acting on LCT.

OBJECTIVE:To explore th. sh.rt-term and long-term efficacy of buccal acupuncture th.rapy in th. treatment of patients with.primary dysmenorrh.a(PD).METh.DS:A total of 90 patients with.PD wh. were admitted to th. Second Affiliated h.spital of Zh.jiang University of Traditional Ch.nese Medicine from January 2020 to December 2021 were included in th.s study and randomly divided into th.ee groups,including th. observation group,th. control group,and th. placebo group,with.30 patients in each.group.Patients in th. observation group were treated according to th. syndrome types of Traditional Ch.nese Medicine,th.se in th. control group were treated with.Saridon,and th.se in th. placebo group received a placebo.Th. visual analog scale(VAS)scores of th.se patients were evaluated at different time points(before treatment,5 min after needle retention,30 min after needle retention,1 h.after treatment,2 h.after treatment,1 d after treatment,and 2 d after treatment).Th. Cox Menstrual Symptom Scale(CMSS)scores were assessed before th. treatment and after th.ee courses of treatment.Besides,th.se two scales were also evaluated during follow-up.Moreover,th. pain score and adverse reactions of th.se patients were assessed during treatment.RESULTS:After treatment,th. VAS and CMSS scores in th. observation group decreased significantly(Ph.rapy is verified to h.ve sh.rt-term efficacy in th. treatment of PD.In addition,th.s th.rapy h.s an immediate analgesic effect and long-term efficacy in reducing th. severity and frequency of PD.
