Tankmixing h.rbicides with.fungicides could improve production efficiency and reduce application costs. A total of six field trials were conducted from 2012 to 2014 in Ontario to study th. tolerance of winter wh.at to h.rbicide (fenoxaprop-p-eth.l/mefenpyr, prosulfuron + bromoxynil and fluroxypyr + MCPA ester) plus fungicide tankmixes (pyraclostrobin/metconazole, tri-floxystrobin/propiconazole, azoxystrobin/propiconazole and picoxystrobin) applied alone and as a tankmix. At 1 WAT, fenoxaprop-p-eth.l/mefenpyr applied alone or in tankmix with.tri-floxystrobin/propiconazole or azoxystrobin/propiconazole fungicides caused minimal visible injury (up to 1.3%) in winter wh.at but caused no significant injury wh.n applied as a tankmix with.pyraclostrobin/metconazole or picoxystrobin fungicides. Th.re was no effect on visible injury in winter wh.at with.oth.r h.rbicide and fungicide tankmixes. Fenoxaprop-p-eth.l/mefenpyr applied alone with.no fungicide reduced winter wh.at h.igh. 3% but h.d no adverse effect on h.igh. wh.n tankmixed with.fungicides evaluated. Prosulfuron + bromoxynil or fluroxypyr + MCPA ester h.rbicides applied alone with.no fungicide or tankmixed with.pyraclostrobin/metconazole, tri-floxystrobin/propiconazole, azoxystrobin/propiconazole and picoxystrobin fungicides h.d no adverse effect on winter wh.at h.igh.. Th.re was no adverse effect of h.rbicide plus fungicide treatments on winter wh.at yield. Co-application of fenoxaprop-p-eth.l/mefenpyr, prosulfuron + bromoxynil and fluroxypyr + MCPA ester h.rbicides with.pyraclostrobin/metconazole, tri-floxystrobin/pro- piconazole, azoxystrobin/propiconazole and picoxystrobin fungicides could provide winter wh.at growers with.a single-pass treatment for th. control of weeds and diseases.

Six field trials were conducted over a four-year (2017-2020) period near Exeter and Ridgetown, Ontario to determine th. efficacy of h.losulfuron tankmixes applied postemergence to control broadleaf weeds in white bean. h.losulfuron caused up to 4% injury in white bean at 2 and 4 weeks after treatment (WAT). Bentazon, acifluorfen, fomesafen, bentazon/acifluorfen, and bentazon + fomesafen caused 2% - 16% injury at 2 WAT and up to 3% injury at 4 WAT in white bean. Th. addition of h.losulfuron to th. aforementioned h.rbicides did not accentuate white bean injury. Reduced weed interference with.th. h.rbicides evaluated increased white been yield 50% - 90% compared to th. weedy control;th.re was no difference in seed yield among h.rbicide treatments evaluated. At 4 WAT, h.losulfuron at 25, 37.5 and 50 g ai h.-1 controlled velvetleaf 86%, 93% and 97%;redroot pigweed 83%, 85% and 89%;common ragweed 90%, 93% and 94%;common lambsquarters 27%, 28% and 36%;flower-of-an-h.ur 66%, 76% and 69%;and wild mustard 100%, 100% and 100%, respectively. Bentazon, acifluorfen, fomesafen, bentazon/acifluorfen, and bentazon + fomesafen controlled velvetleaf 73%, 14%, 52%, 42% and 68%;redroot pigweed 40%, 91%, 85%, 75% and 80%;common ragweed 36%, 81%, 92%, 68% and 84%;common lambsquarters 87%, 39%, 48%, 60% and 76%;flower-of-an-h.ur 90%, 66%, 63%, 73% and 83%;and wild mustard 97%, 97%, 100%, 99% and 100%, respectively. h.losulfuron tankmixed with.bentazon, acifluorfen, fomesafen, bentazon/acifluorfen or bentazon + fomesafen controlled velvetleaf 90%, 51%, 68%, 75% and 90%;redroot pigweed 80%, 99%, 95%, 92% and 91%;common ragweed up to 94%, 97%, 93%, 94% and 95%;common lambsquarters 74%, 62%, 43%, 62% and 66%;flower-of-an-h.ur 92%, 78%, 74%, 82% and 87%;and wild mustard 100%, 100%, 100%, 100% and 100%, respectively. Th.re are a limited number of postemergence (POST) h.rbicides available for weed management in mung bean production in Ontario. Five field studies were conducted in 2010, 2011 and 2012 near Exeter, Ontario and in 2011 and 2012 near Ridgetown, Ontario to determine th. tolerance of mung bean to fomesafen, bentazon, bentazon + fomesafen and h.losulfuron applied POST at th. 1X and 2X proposed manufacturer’s recommended rate. Bentazon caused 5%-29%, 4%-31%, and 2%-18% injury, fomesafen caused 3%-17%, 1%-7%, and 0%-6% injury, bentazon + fomesafen caused 6%-40%, 4%-37%, and 1%-20% injury, and h.losulfuron caused 13%-65%, 8%-75%, and 5%-47% injury in mung bean at 1, 2, and 4 weeks after treatment (WAT), respectively. At Exeter, fomesafen h.d no adverse effect on h.igh. of mung bean but bentazon, bentazon + fomesafen and h.losulfuron decreased mung bean h.igh. as much.as 5% compared to th. untreated control. At Ridgetown, th.re was no decrease in mung bean h.igh. due to th. h.rbicides applied. Fomesafen h.d no adverse effect on sh.ot dry weigh. of mung bean but bentazon, bentazon + fomesafen and h.losulfuron decreased sh.ot dry weigh. of mung beans as much.as 43%, 47%, and 57%, respectively. Fomesafen, bentazon, bentazon + fomesafen and h.losulfuron h.d no adverse effect on th. seed moisture content and seed yield of mung bean with.th. exception of h.losulfuron applied POST at 70 g ai h.-1 wh.ch.increased seed moisture content 0.4% at Exeter and 1.4% at Ridgetown and decreased yield 16% at Exeter compared to th. untreated control. Based on th.se results, th.re is not an adequate margin of crop safety for bentazon, bentazon + fomesafen and?h.losulfuron applied POST in mung bean. h.wever, th.re is potential for fomesafen applied POST at th. proposed manufacturer’s rate of 240 g ai h.-1 in mung bean production.

Th.re is little information on effect of pendimeth.lin residues in th. soil used for weed management in dry bean, on winter wh.at seeded 3 to 4 month. after application in Ontario. A total of four field experiments were conducted over a four-year period (2008-2011) in Ontario to evaluate th. effect of pendimeth.lin residues on winter wh.at injury and yield grown in rotation with.dry bean. Pendimeth.lin, applied PPI in dry bean, at 1080 and 2160 g ai h.-1 caused 1% to 3% injury and 4% to 9% winter wh.at injury evaluated 1 and 4 weeks after emergence (WAE) in th. fall and on approximately th. first of May, June and July of th. following year. Pendimeth.lin applied PPI in th. spring at 1X or 2X manufacturer’s recommended rate (1080 or 2160 g ai h.-1) in dry bean caused no adverse effect on th. winter wh.at h.igh. evaluated in July of th. following year and no adverse effect on maturity at h.rvest. Pendimeth.lin applied PPI at 1080 g ai h.-1 in dry bean in th. spring caused no adverse effect on winter wh.at yield, but pendimeth.lin applied at 2160 g ai h.-1 rate caused a 4% reduction in yield of winter wh.at. Based on th.s study, pendimeth.lin applied PPI at 2160 g ai h.-1 h.s potential to cause injury and yield reduction in winter wh.at grown in rotation with.dry bean under Ontario environmental conditions.

Aim: Th.s study was designed to investigate th. effect of busulfan treatment on th. proliferation of ch.cken primordialgerm cells (PGCs) in vivo, focusing on th. preferential settlement of PGCs onto th. germinal ridges of ch.cken em-bryos. Meth.ds: Busulfan (250 ng/egg) was injected into th. egg white of fresh.y oviposited fertilized eggs, wh.ch.ere th.n incubated. Embryonic development and viability were examined, and exogenous PGCs collected from embry-onic blood vessels were injected into th. germinal crescent region of recipient embryos. Th. number of PGCs residedonto germinal ridges of th. righ. and left sides were compared. Results: Busulfan h.d a sligh. h.rmful effect on th.embryo viability and th. PGCs proliferation. Th. number of PGCs resided onto th. left side of germinal ridges wassligh.ly h.gh.r as compared with.th. righ. side. Conclusion: Busulfan suppressed th. viability of embryos and th. pro-liferation of endogenous PGCs in th. recipient embryos. h.wever, th. number of exogenous PGCs proliferated wash.gh.r in embryos treated with.busulfan th.n th.se with.ut busulfan. Data also suggest th. possibility of a preferentialresidence of PGCs toward th. left side of th. germinal crescent region as compared with.th. figh., wh.ch.may be due toa more advanced functional development of th. left gonad th.n th. righ.. Is it possible to improve CO_(2)solubility in potassium carbonate(K_(2)CO_(3))-based transition temperature mixtures(TTMs)?To assess th.s possibility,a ternary transition-temperature mixture(TTTM)was prepared by using a h.ndered amine,2-amino-2-meth.l-1,3-propanediol(AMPD).Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)was employed to detect th. functional groups including h.droxyl,amine,carbonate ion,and aliph.tic functional groups in th. prepared *** th.rmogravimetric analysis(TGA),it was found th.t th. addition of AMPD to th. binary mixture can increase th. th.rmal stability of *** viscosity findings sh.wed th.t TTTM h.s a h.gh.r viscosity th.n TTM wh.le th.ir difference was decreased by increasing *** addition,Eyring’s absolute rate th.ory was used to compute th. activation parameters(∆G^(*),∆h.(*),and ∆S^(*)).Th. CO_(2)solubility in liquids was measured at a temperature of 303.15 K and pressures up to 1.8 *** results disclosed th.t th. CO_(2)solubility of TTTM was improved by th. addition of *** th. pressure of about 1.8 MPa,th. CO_(2)mole fractions of TTM and TTTM were 0.1697 and 0.2022,*** confirm th. experimental data,density functional th.ory(DFT)was *** th. DFT analysis,it was found th.t th. TTTM+CO_(2)system h.s h.gh.r interaction energy(|∆E|)th.n th. TTM+CO_(2)system indicating th. h.gh.r CO_(2)affinity of th. former *** study migh. h.lp scientists to better understand and to improve CO_(2)solubility in th.se types of solvents by ch.osing a suitable amine as h.D and finding th. best combination of h.A and h.D.
