Incidence of intestinal Parasites h.s been described as one of th. m.st com.on problem. of developing countries like Nigeria. World h.alth.Organization estim.ted th.t 3.5 billion people worldwide are infected with.som. types of intestinal parasites, and as m.ny as 450 m.llion of th.m.are sick as a result. Th.s work th.refore is carried out to access th. carrier status of food h.ndlers around th. University of Nigeria Teach.ng h.spital Enugu in Enugu State of Nigeria as well as to ascertain th. com.on offending parasite. Th.ee h.ndred and six (306) stool sam.les were random.y collected between January and August, 2001 from.food vendors occupying th. zones around th. Teach.ng h.spital wh.ch.include: UNTh.Road, Railway track, Prison old park and Dean’s cook. Th. sam.les were transported to th. University of Nigeria Teach.ng h.spital Parasitology Laboratory with.n 1 h.ur of production and analysed Parasitologically using Ph.siological saline and iodine direct m.unt and form.l eth.r concentration tech.iques. Out of th. 306 stool sam.les analysed, 126 representing 41.2% tested positive to parasites. Entam.be h.stolytica sh.wed th. h.gh.st incidence of 52.4% followed by Ascaris lum.ricoidis with.23.8% and th. least was Trich.ris trich.ra with.40%. Th. incidence of m.xed infection was 44.4%. Fem.le food h.ndlers were m.re infected 44.2% th.n th. m.le food h.ndlers 36.8%. Wh.reas m.at h.ndlers were m.st infected 66.7% am.ng oth.r food h.ndlers. From.th. result of th. work, it can be inferredth.t th. incidence of intestinal parasites am.ng food h.ndlers around th. University of Nigeria Teach.ng h.spital Enugu is h.gh.and th.s can be attributed m.inly to poor sanitary condition of th.s area. We th.refore recom.end th.t Enugu State Governm.nt sh.uld intensify h.r sanitation program.e especially wh.re public foods are being h.ndled, as well as provide enligh.enm.nt cam.aign for food h.ndlers to save th. lives of h.r citizenry.

Th.s cross-sectional study investigates a connection between fem.le infertility and obesity across various regions of th. United States, utilizing data from.th. NIh.s “All of Us” Research.r Workbench. Analysis suggested th.t th. South.rn region exh.bited th. h.gh.st percentage of concurrently infertile and obese fem.les at 32.3%, in contrast to th. lowest in th. Western region at 28.7%. Th. findings underscore th. significant regional disparities in obesity-related infertility, particularly in m.dically underserved areas wh.re h.alth.are access is lim.ted. Th. study h.gh.igh.s th. urgent need for targeted public h.alth.interventions, particularly in th. South.rn United States, to address th. rising prevalence of obesity and its im.act on infertility. Furth.r, th.se results advocate for enh.nced public h.alth.education and policies aim.d at im.roving h.alth.are accessibility, with.th. goal of m.tigating th. adverse effects of obesity on reproductive h.alth.

Stitch.density is one of th. critical quality param.ters of knit fabrics. Th.s param.ter is closely related to oth.r ph.sical quality param.ters like fabric weigh., fabric tigh.ness factor, fiber types, blend ratio, yarn diam.ter and linear density, and fabric structure. Selecting stitch.density (wales per inch. course per inch. is essential to getting th. appropriate fabric weigh. and desired quality. Usually, no rules or assum.tions exist to get th. desired stitch.density in th. finish.d fabric stage. Fifteen types of blended knit fabrics were prepared to conduct th. study. Th. varying percentages of cotton, polyester, and elastane are incorporated in th. blends. Regression analysis and regression ANOVA tests were done to predict th. stitch.density of finish.d fabrics. A suitable regression equation is establish.d to get th. desired results. Th. study also found th.t th. stitch.density value in th. finish.d stage fabric decreases by approxim.tely 15% com.ared to th. stitch.density in th. grey fabric stage. Th.s study will h.lp th. fabric m.nufacturers get th. finish.d fabric stitch.density in advance by utilizing th. grey fabric stitch.density data set. Th. auth.r expects th.s research.to benefit th. knitting and dyeing industry, new research.rs, and advanced research.rs.

h.rein,we report th. synth.sis of a Dy-Gd co-doped cubic ph.se-stabilized Bi2O3solid electrolyte system.via solid-state processing under atm.sph.ric *** with.Dy3+and Gd3+h.s been observed to significantly enh.nce th. densification process during sintering for stabilization purposes,th.reby im.roving th. electrical properties of δ-Bi2O3-type *** synth.sized ceram.cs were ch.racterized using X-ray diffraction（XRD）,field em.ssion scanning electron m.croscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy（FESEm.EDX）,th.rm.l gravim.try/differential th.rm.l analysis（TG/DTA）,and th. four-point probe tech.ique（4PPT）.XRD analysis reveals th.t th. sam.les Bi1-x-yGdxDyyO1.5（y=0.05/x=0.05,0.10,0,15,and 0.20,and x=0.05/y=0.10,0.15,and 0.20） exh.bit a stable face-centered cubic δ-ph.se and a m.xed-ph.se crystallograph.c *** XRD analysis of th. stabilized δ-ph.se suggests th.t th. prepared oxides sh.w a face-centered cubic（FCC） structure with.a space group of *** m.crograph. reveal th.t th. com.osition Bi0.90Gd0.05Dy0.05O1.5h.s no significant ***,an evident increase in th. pore form.tion is observed as th. am.unt of Gd2O3increases until it reach.s 20%.Th.s finding suggests th.t dense pellets are form.d during th. sintering process at 900-1000℃.Th. DTA analyses were perform.d to verify th. ph.se stability,wh.ch.agrees with.th. Unequal Distribution of Innovation Efforts for Neglected Tropical Diseases: Th. Role of Funding Evaluation Criteria

Background: International research.and innovation efforts for neglected tropical diseases h.ve increased in recent decades due to disparities in overall h.alth.research.funding in relation to global burden of disease. h.wever, with.n th. field of neglected tropical diseases som. seem.far m.re neglected th.n oth.rs. In th.s research.th. aim.is to investigate th. distribution of resources and efforts, as well as th. m.ch.nism. th.t underpin funding allocation for neglected tropical diseases. m.th.dology: A system.tic literature review was conducted to establish.a com.reh.nsive overview of known indicators for innovation efforts related to a wide range of neglected tropical diseases. Articles were selected based on a subjective evaluation of th.ir relevance, th. presence of original data, and th. breadth.of th.ir scope. Th.s was followed by th.rteen in-depth.open-ended interviews with.representatives of private, public and ph.lanth.opic funding organizations, concerning evaluation criteria for funding research.proposals. Results: Th. findings reveal a large difference in th. extent to wh.ch.th. individual diseases are neglected with.notable differences between absolute and relative efforts. Criteria used in th. evaluation of research.proposals relate to potential im.act, th. probability of success and strategic fit. Private organizations prioritize strategic fit and econom.c im.act;ph.lanth.opic organizations prioritize sh.rt-term.societal im.act;and public generally prioritize th. probability of success by accounting for follow-up funding and involvem.nt of industry. Funding decisions of different types of organizations are h.gh.y interrelated. Conclusions: Th.s study sh.ws th.t th. evaluation of funding proposals introduces and retains unequal funding distribution, reinforcing th. relative neglect of diseases. An experim.nt was conducted to test th. efficacy of a m.ch.nical barrier around th. tree trunk with.one spray of Cyperm.th.in @ 1 m./l and turm.ric powder extract @ 15 g/500m. of water applied in integrated approach.s against m.ngo m.alybug on m.ngo tree. Th.re were 7 treatm.nts including a control. Th. treatm.nts were m.ch.nical barrier, Cyperm.th.in spray @ 1 m./l, Turm.ric powder spray @ 15 g/500m. of water, Cyperm.th.in spray + Turm.ric spray, Cyperm.th.in spray + m.ch.nical barrier, Turm.ric + m.ch.nical barrier and untreated control. Th.ee-year-old m.ngo plants grafted from.a 5-year-old m.ngo tree (Variety Am.opali) and planted in pots were used in th. experim.nt. Th. treatm.nt, Cyperm.th.in spray + m.ch.nical barrier gave th. h.gh.st reduction of m.ngo m.alybug population 87.06% to 93.90% followed by Turm.ric spray + m.ch.nical barrier and sh.wed 81.13% to 86.04% and m.ch.nical barrier alone sh.wed 81.13% to 84.59% population reduction. Turm.ric powder extract sh.wed only (8.42% to 23.77%) population reduction of m.ngo m.alybug wh.ch.was lowest com.ared to oth.r treatm.nts.

Five perovskite ceram.cs sam.les of Ba_(1-x)Er_(x)SnO_(3) with.x=0.00,0.05,0.10,0.15,and 0.20 were synth.sized using th. conventional solid-state reaction *** prepared sam.les were ch.racterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform. infrared(FTIR),and UV-Vis *** sh.elding properties against ionizing radiation were also *** XRD analysis sh.ws th. perovskite cubic structure as th. m.jor ph.se in all *** FTIR reveals a distinctive band around 614-620 cm.(-1) ascribed to th. antisym.etric O-Sn-O ***-Vis spectroscopy was used to determ.ne th. bandgap according to diffuse reflectance,and th. results display a fixed enh.ncem.nt in th. bandgap from.3.2 to 3.3 eV for all ***-ray sh.elding properties of th. synth.sized sam.les were experim.ntally m.asured and com.ared with.XCOm.com.utational *** relative differences(Δ,%)between experim.ntal and th.o retical values are low and fall with.n th. 0.446%-7.10%*** addition of Er leads to th. enh.nced density,neutron,and gam.a sh.elding *** contrast,ch.rged particles’sh.elding param.ters gradually reduce with.rising Er *** results suggest th.t Ba_(1-x)Er_(x)SnO_(3) sam.les can be used in different radiation sh.elding applications.
