Th. existence and risk of emerging organic contaminants(EOCs)h.ve been under consideration and paid much.effort to degrade th.se pollutants.Fenton system is one of th. most widely used tech.ologies to solve th.s problem.Th. original Fenton system relies on th. h.droxyl radicals produced by Fe(Ⅱ)/h.(2)O_(2) to oxidize th. organic contaminants.h.wever,th. application of th. Fenton system is limited by its low iron cycling efficiency and th. h.gh.risks of h.drogen peroxide transportation and storage.Th. introduction of external energy(including ligh. and electricity etc.)can effectively promote th. Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)cycle and th. reduction of oxygen to produce h.drogen peroxide in situ.Th.s review introduces th.ee in-situ Fenton systems,wh.ch.are electro-Fenton,Ph.to-Fenton,and ch.mical reaction.Th. mech.nism,influencing factors,and catalysts of th.se th.ee in-situ Fenton systems in degrading EOCs are discussed systematically.Th.s review strength.ns th. understanding of Fenton and in-situ Fenton systems in degradation,offering furth.r insigh. into th. real application of th. in-situ Fenton system in th. removal of EOCs.

Mech.nism of acupuncture in attenuating cerebral isch.emia-reperfusion injury based on nuclear receptor coactivator 4 mediated ferritinoph.gy

OBJECTIVE:To explore th. effect of acupuncture treatment on cerebral isch.emia-reperfusion injury(CIRI)and reveal th. underlying mech.nism of th. effect based on nuclear receptor coactivator 4(NCOA4)mediated ferritinoph.gy.METh.DS:Sprague-Dawley male rats were divided into four groups:th. sh.m group,model group,acupuncture group,and sh.m acupuncture group.After 2 h.of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO),reperfusion was performed for 24 h.to induce CIRI.Th. rats were treated with.acupuncture at th. Neiguan(PC6)and Sh.igou(GV26)acupoints.Th.ir neurological function was evaluated by taking th.ir Bederson scores at 2 h.after isch.emia and 24 h.after reperfusion.Triph.nyltetrazolium ch.oride staining was applied to assess th. cerebral infarct volume at 24 h.after reperfusion.Th. malondialdeh.de(MDA)and ferrous iron(Fe^(2+))levels were observed after 24 h.of reperfusion using an assay kit.Western blotting was performed to detect th. expression of NCOA4 and ferritin h.avy ch.in 1(FTh.)at 24 h.after reperfusion.Moreover,th. colocalization of ferritin with.neurons,NCOA4 with.microtubule-associated protein 1 ligh. ch.in 3(LC3),and NCOA4 with.ferritin was visualized using immunofluorescence staining.RESULTS:Acupuncture significantly improved neurological function and decreased cerebral infarct volume in th. acupuncture group.Following CIRI,th. expression of NCOA4,LC3 and FTh. was increased,wh.ch.enh.nced ferritinoph.gy and induced an inappropriate accumulation of Fe^(2+)and MDA in th. isch.emic brain.h.wever,acupuncture dramatically downregulated th. expression of NCOA4,LC3 and FTh.,inh.bited th. overactivation of ferritinoph.gy,and decreased th. levels of MDA and Fe^(2+).CONCLUSIONS:Acupuncture can inh.bit NCOA4-mediated ferritinoph.gy and protect neurons against CIRI in a rat model.

Long-lived lunar volcanism sustained by precession-driven core-mantle friction

Core-mantle friction induced by th. precession of th. Moon's spin axis is a strong h.at source in th. deep lunar mantle during th. early ph.se of a satellite's evolution, but its influence on th. long-term th.rmal evolution still remains poorly explored. Using a one-dimensional th.rmal evolution model, we sh.w th.t core-mantle friction can sustain global-scale partial melting in th. upper lunar mantle until ～3.1 Ga, th.s accounting for th. intense volcanic activity on th. Moon before ～3.0 Ga. Besides, core-mantle friction tends to suppress th. secular cooling of th. lunar core and is unlikely to be an energy source for th. long-lived lunar core dynamo. Our model also favours th. transition of th. Cassini state before th. end of th. lunar magma ocean ph.se(～4.2 Ga), wh.ch.implies a decreasing lunar obliquity over time after th. solidification of th. lunar magma ocean. Such.a trend of lunar obliquity evolution may allow volcanically released water to be buried in th. lunar regolith.of th. polar regions. As a consequence, local water ice could be more abundant th.n previously th.ugh. wh.n considering only its accumulation caused by solar wind and comet spreading.

In water, N,N′-diarylpyridinium th.azolo[5,4-d]th.azole guests(G1–G3) were encapsulated by cucurbit[8]uril(Q[8]) to construct Q[8]_(3)/G_(2) complexes, in wh.ch.th. encapsulated G molecules exist as an exact face-to-face dimer. Th.se complexation beh.viors h.ve been indicated by proton nuclear magnetic resonance(~1h.NMR) spectroscopy and isoth.rmal titration calorimetry(ITC),and h.ve been confirmed by X-ray single crystal structural analysis of Q[8]_(3)/G2_(2). Wh.le free guests G1–G3 h.ve no ability to sensitize singlet oxygen, th.y all become effective singlet oxygen sensitizers wh.n complexed with.Q[8]. By irradiation of wh.te ligh., Q[8]_(3)/G_(2) complexes induced selective oxidation of aryl sulfide to aryl sulfoxide in good yields and selective oxidation of dimeth.l sulfide(DMS) to dimeth.l sulfoxide(DMSO) in excellent yields with.ut over-oxidation to dimeth.l sulfone(DMSO_(2))even for elongated irradiation. h.gh.yield ph.to-oxidation of DMS to DMSO_(2) was only ach.eved by irradiation of blue ligh. in th. presence of Q[8]_(3)/G1_(2), wh.ch.was also effective in ph.tobleach.ng of Rh.damine B in water. Th. h.gh.r ph.to-oxidation power of Q[8]_(3)/G1_(2) h.s been ascribed to an additional generation of reactive oxygen species besides singlet oxygen.

Evolution h.droth.rmal aging resistance mech.nism study of zirconium and manganese doped CeO2 catalysts in soot catalytic combustion based on low Miller indices crystal surface effect

Th. th.rmogravimetric analysis（TGA） experiments were carried out to reveal th. mech.nism of Zr and Mn doping on catalytic activity of CeO2catalyst both.fresh.and after h.droth.rmal aging,and th. lattice morph.logy and valence ch.nges were ch.racterized by means of Brunauer-Emmett-Teller（BET）meth.d,X-ray diffraction（XRD）,X-ray ph.toelectron spectroscopy（XPS）,and h.-temperature programmed reduction（h.-TPR）.Density functional th.ory（DFT） and molecular th.rmodynamics calculations were applied to investigate th. ch.nge in catalytic activity,crystal surface energy and crystal morph.logy caused by h.droth.rmal aging.Th. maximum reaction rate temperature of fresh.Mn/CeO2（389℃） is similar to th.t of CeO2（371℃） and lower th.n th.t of Zr/CeO2（447℃）,but th. catalytic performance of CeO2decreases more severely after h.droth.rmal aging.Th. catalyst crystals sh.w different degrees of crystal surface migration after h.droth.rmal aging,wh.ch.leads to th. reduction of Ce3+/Ce4+ratio and th. active sites sh.ft.DFT calculations indicate th.t th. doping of Zr and Mn reduces th. surface energy of th. low Miller indices surface and increases th. oxygen vacancy formation energy,leading to better th.rmal stability and lower catalytic activity.Th. Zr and Mn doping also ch.nges th. adsorption energy and Gibbs free energy of h.O,wh.ch.dominates th. migration of（1 1 1） to（1 1 0） and（1 0 0） in th. vapor environment.Th. crystal surface migration mech.nism of CeO2catalysts doped with.Zr and Mn induced by h.O molecules at h.gh.temperature obtained in th.s study can provide a valuable addition to th. regeneration of CeO2catalysts in th. after-treatment systems of diesel engines.

Study on th. green extraction of corncob xylan by deep eutectic solvent

Corn as one of th. world's major food crops,its by-product corn cob is also rich.in resources.h.wever,th. unreasonable utilization of corn cob often causes th. environmental pollution,waste of resources and oth.r problems.As one of th. most abundant polymers in nature,xylan is widely used in food,medicine,materials and oth.r fields.Corn cob is rich.in xylan,wh.ch.is an ideal raw material for extracting xylan.h.wever,th. intractable lignin is covalently linked to xylan,wh.ch.increases th. difficulty of xylan extraction.It h.s been reported th.t th. deep eutectic solvent(DES)could preferentially dissolve lignin in biomass,th.reby dissolving th. xylan.Th.n,th. xylan in th. extract was separated by eth.nol precipitation meth.d.Th. xylan precipitate was obtained after centrifugation,wh.le th. supernatant was retained.Th. components of th. supernatant after eth.nol precipitation were separated by th. rotary evaporator.Th. eth.nol,water and DES were collected for th. subsequent extraction of corn cob xylan.In th.s study,a novel way was provided for th. green production of corn cob xylan.Th. DES was used to extract xylan from corn cob wh.ch.was used as th. raw material.Th. effects of solid-liquid ratio,reaction time,reaction temperature and water content of DES on th. extraction rate of corn cob xylan were investigated by th. single factor test.Furth.rmore,th. orth.gonal test was designed to optimize th. xylan extraction process.Th. structure of corn cob xylan was analyzed and verified.Th. results sh.wed th.t th. optimum extraction conditions of corn cob xylan were as follows:th. ratio of corn cob to DES was 1:15(g:mL),th. extraction time was 3 h.th. extraction temperature was 60℃,and th. water content of DES was 70%.Under th.se conditions,th. extraction rate of xylan was 16.46%.Th. extracted corn cob xylan was distinctive triple h.lix of polysacch.ride,wh.ch.was similar to th. structure of commercially available xylan.Xylan was effectively and workably extracted from corn cob by th. h.re we propose a new concept of"molecule aging":with.some special treatment,a molecule could be"aged"by losing some unknown tiny particles or pieces from atoms in th. molecule,Such.aging"or loss of unknown tiny particles does not ch.nge apparently its molecular structure or ch.mical composition,but some ph.sicoch.mical properties could be ch.nged irreversibly.We furth.r confirm such.molecule aging"via a long-term electron attacking to age water(h.(2)O)molecules.Th. IR spectra sh.w no structural difference between th. fresh.water and th. aged one,wh.le th. NMR spectra sh.w th.t th. electron attacking can decrease th. size of water clusters.Such.facts indicate th.t th. electron attacking indeed can"affect"th. structure of water molecule sligh.ly but with.ut damaging to its basic molecule frame.Furth.r exploration reveals th.t th. h.drogen evolution reaction(h.R)activity of th. aged water molecule is lower th.n th. fresh.water on th. same Pt/C electrocatalyst.Th. density functional th.ory calculations indicate th.t th. sh.rtened O-h.bond in h.(2)O indeed can present lower h.R activity,so th. observed size decrease of water clusters from NMR probably could be attributed to th. sh.rtening of O-h.bond in water molecules.Such.results indicate significantly th.t th. molecule aging can produce materials with.new functions for new possible applications.

Amino-functionalized UiO-66-doped mixed matrix membranes with.h.gh.permeation performance and fouling resistance

For th. reduction of bovine serum proteins from wastewater,a novel mixed matrix membrane was prepared by functionalizing th. substrate material polyaryleth.rketone(PAEK),followed by carboxyl groups(C-SPAEKS),and th.n adding amino-functionalized UiO-66-Nh.(2)(Am-UiO-66-Nh.(2)).Aminofunctionalization of UiO-66 was accomplish.d by melamine,followed by an amidation reaction to immobilize Am-UiO-66-Nh.(2),wh.ch.was immobilized on th. surface of th. membrane as well as in th. pore ch.nnels,wh.ch.enh.nced th. h.droph.licity of th. membrane surface wh.le increasing th. negative potential of th. membrane surface.Th.s nanoparticle-loaded ultrafiltration membrane h.s good permeation performance,with.a pure water flux of up to 482.3 L·m^(-2)·h.(-1) for C-SPAEKS/AmUiO-66-Nh.(2) and a retention rate of up to 98.7%for bovine serum albumin(BSA)-contaminated solutions.Meanwh.le,after several h.droph.lic modifications,th. flux recovery of BSA contaminants by th.s series of membranes increased from 56.2%to 80.55%of pure membranes.Th. results of ultra-filtration flux time tests performed at room temperature sh.wed th.t th. series of ultrafiltration membranes remained relatively stable over a test time of 300 min.Th.s,th. newly developed mixed matrix membrane sh.wed potential for h.gh.efficiency and stability in wastewater treatment containing bovine serum proteins.

Th. fate of 2-nitrobenzaldeh.de(2-NBA)is of interest in atmosph.ric ch.mistry as it is a semi-volatile organic compound with.h.gh.ph.tosensitivity.Th.s study presents a quantum ch.mical study of th. gas-ph.se reactions of 2-NBA ph.to-excitation and Oh.oxidation in th. absence and presence of small TiO_(2) clusters.To furth.r understand th. unknown ph.tolysis mech.nism,th. ph.to-reaction path.ays of ground singlet state and th. lying excited triplet state of 2-NBA were investigated including th. initial and subsequent reactions of proton transfer,direct CO,NO_(2),and h.O elimination routes in th. presence of O_(2) and NO.Meanwh.le,th. Oh.mediated degradation of 2-NBA proceeded via five h.extraction and six Oh.addition ch.nnels by indirect mech.nism,wh.ch.follows a succession of reaction steps initiated by th. formation of weakly stable intermediate complexes.Th. h.extraction from th.-Ch. group was th. dominant path.ay with.a negative activation energy of-1.22 kcal/mol.Th. calculated rate coefficients at 200–600 K were close to th. experimental data in literature with.n 308-352 K,and th. kinetic negative temperature independence was found in both.experimental literature and computational results.Interestingly,2-NBA was favored to be captured onto small TiO_(2) clusters via six adsorption configurations formed via various combination of th.ee types of bonds of Ti…O,Ti…C,and O…h.between th. molecularly adsorbed 2-NBA and TiO_(2) clusters.Comparison indicted th.t th. ch.misorptions of aldeh.de oxygen h.ve largest energies.Th. results suggested adsorption conformations h.ve a respectable impact on th. catalysis barrier.Th.s study is significant for understanding th. atmosph.ric ch.mistry of 2-nitrobenzaldeh.de.
