Background: In developing countries maternal mortality and morbidity are most often due to th. late to consult, poverty and ignorance. Added to th.s is, th. under-medicalization of th. h.alth.system. Th. objective of study is to report a case of late consultation and its consequences and make recommendations to improve: case of abdominal pregnancy with.h.morrh.gic placenta at th. h.alth.and Moth.r Center (CSME) in Zinder/Niger. Clinical Observation: We describe a case of abdominal pregnancy with.h.morrh.gic placenta in a 24-year-old woman, with.ut profession, resident in th. city of Zinder with.a low economic level, consulted for abdomino-pelvic pain. Sh. h.d a notion of amenorrh.a for 5 month. with.ut any consultation made. Sh. was pale, feverish.and h.d abdominal pain. Ultrasound revealed a 23-week-old fetus and an empty uterus. Th. diagnosis was abdominal pregnancy. A laparotomy was performed and a Th. morbidity was h.sterectomy and anemia. Th. postoperative period course was complicated with.anemia. Th. patient was cured on th. 9th.day with.a good vital prognosis. Conclusion: Abdominal pregnancy occurred in a patient wh. presented a risk factor. Ultrasound was th. key diagnostic test. Surgery was th. treatment of ch.ice and th. prognosis depends on th. earliness of th. consultation. Community awareness and early consultation with.h.alth.services can improve th. prognosis of abdominal pregnancy.

h.ritability and Genetic Correlation of Niamey’s Local Ch.cken Growth.(Niger)

Th. exploitation of industrial strains of ch.ckens in th. Sah.lian climate of Niger is ch.racterized by a decline in performance and significant costs associated with.th.ir maintenance. In contrast, local ch.ckens are well adapted to th.se environmental conditions but with.poor production performance. Genetic selection of th.se local ch.ckens could improve th.ir productivity. Th. first step is to determine if th. genetic parameters of th.ir growth.are h.gh.enough.to ensure a successful selection strategy. To do so, weekly weigh.s of 69 parents and 119 offspring were followed for 20 weeks. Th. h.ritability and genetic correlations of th.se weigh.s were estimated th.ough.th. Bayesian approach.using th. MCMCglmm package on R software. At h.tch.ng, weigh.s ranged from 23 to 25 g. At 20 weeks, th.se weigh.s ranged from 1031 to 1052 g for females and 1308 to 1445 g for males. h.ritabilities for h.tch.weigh.s at 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 weeks of age were estimated to be 0.56, 0.31, 0.52, 0.53, 0.52 and 0.48 respectively and all genetic correlations were positive. In particular, weigh. at 8 weeks of age sh.wed both.good h.ritability (h.sup>2 = 0.52) and strong, positive genetic correlations with.weigh.s at older ages. Th.se results indicate th.t genetic selection to improve weigh. at 8 weeks of age would be a good strategy to improve th. overall growth.performance of th.se ch.ckens.

Dallol Maouri is one of th. fossil valleys on th. left bank of th. Niger River. Its watersh.d drains water from valleys in th. Tah.ua and Dosso regions of Niger. Th. watercourse is not continuous and h.s areas of surface water accumulation (ponds) and areas of spreading and infiltration. Th. surface water potential in th.s area is limited, with.most of th. ponds h.ving a temporary to th. semi-permanent regime. Groundwater resources are, th.refore, th. main sources of with.rawal for h.man food, agriculture, and livestock. Climate ch.nge th.ough.th. variation in rainfall, th. often-anarch.c multiplication of catch.ent works (wells and boreh.les) and agricultural activities can h.ve impacts on th. qualitative and quantitative evolution of surface and groundwater. Th. objective of th.s study is to ch.racterize th. surface and underground water of th. upper dallol Maouri th.ough.th. ph.sicoch.mical parameters of th. water and th. use of th. isotopes of th. water molecule (18O, 2h.and 3h.. A total of 53 water samples were analyzed at th. laboratory of th. Regional Directorate of h.draulics and Sanitation of Tillabéri (Niger) for ch.mical parameters and 73 samples were analyzed at th. Radio Analysis and Environment Laboratory (LRAE) of th. National Sch.ol of Engineers of Sfax (ENIS) of Tunis for isotopy. Th. water of th. ponds is ch.racterized by th.ee types of facies: calcium bicarbonate, calcium and magnesium bicarbonate, and calcium nitrate ch.oride. Th. groundwater is 75% of th. ch.oride-nitrate-calcium facies and th. CT3/CT2 groundwater is calcium and magnesium bicarbonate. Th. results of th. stable isotopes made it possible to h.gh.igh. th. presence of four distinct water groups: ponds ch.racterized by h.gh.y evaporated water, th. sh.ets of Continental Terminal 1 and 2 (CT1 and CT2) with.an isotopic cach.t of old water, th. water table consisting of a two-layer system in th. south.estern part of th. area. Anemia in Cameroon: A Social Approach

Viewed as h.dden h.nger, anemia is an indicator of poor nutrition and h.alth.status, especially for African pre-sch.ol ch.ldren. Several actions are being carried out to combat anemia in Africa, with.ut success. Th. fundamental step to improve th.s situation is to determine 1) moth.rs’ knowledge regarding anemia (symptoms/signs and etiologies), and 2) th.ir attitudes towards anemia. Th. present effort was to determine 1) and 2) on moth.rs (n = 152) with children (1 - 5 years) th.ough.questionnaire. Data sh.wed th.t th. less educated th. moth.r was, th. more sh. gave th. wrong definition of anemia. Wh.n th.se moth.rs h.ve anemic ch.ldren, 129 go to th. h.spital, 34 give grenadine (sweet soda), 14 go to th. traditional h.aler, and 6 give th. various decoctions. Our results sh.wed th.t less-educated moth.rs h.d wrong anemia management, such.as attach.ent to a visual logic th.t assimilates blood to food with.red coloring. Th. actions must directly involve th.se moth.rs and th. traditional h.alers to improve th.s situation.

污水污泥是污水处理过程中无法避免的副产品。污泥中含有大量的磷,分布在污泥的不同相中。目前,已有一些方法被广泛应用于污泥磷组分的判别。随着全球磷储量的迅速枯竭,从污泥中回收磷越来越受到人们的关注。本研究旨在确定富铁污水污泥中的主要磷分型,研究超声波辅助碱性溶液提取污泥中磷的效果,并探讨超声波对h.dley分型中磷组分的影响。结果表明,在两种污泥样品中WAS和ADS中磷的分型均以Na Oh.P为主,其含量占总磷的～55%。铁磷化合物(Fe Ps)是污泥中铁-磷结合态的主要形式,分别占WAS和ADS中总磷的62.2和67.5%。与Fe Ps结合的铁是污泥中铁的主要组分。XRD分析与顺序化学提取结果均表明,污泥样品中Fe Ps主要存在于羟基磷铁中。Visual Minteq模拟结果表明,p h.影响磷的形态,磷的沉淀受金属离子含量的影响。超声波对碱性溶液从污泥中提取磷具有促进作用。以0.1 M Na Oh.提取剂,超声处理30 min,WAS和ADS中磷的提取率分别为75.2和61.4%。当仅用Na Oh.,WAS和ADS中磷的提取率分别为～10%和～20%。动力学研究表明,污泥中磷的提取过程均受拟化学反应控制。NaS可以有效的从污泥中提取磷,WAS和ADS中提取的磷量分别为89.0和80.9 mg/L。单独超声波处理使h.-和Na h.O-P组分略有增加,Na Oh.和h.l-P组分略有减少。本研究有助于加深对富铁污泥中磷的形态的理解,推进磷的化学回收技术的发展。

Introduction: Cerebral palsy is th. most common motor disorder of ch.ldh.od according to th. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is much.more common in premature infants. Th. majority of fixed organic lesions occur during th. development of th. central nervous system. Objective: To study th. epidemiological, clinical, paraclinical and prognostic profile of ch.ldren aged 0 to 5 years with.Cerebral Palsy (CP) seen in consultation in th. medical neurology department of th. National h.spital of Niamey. Meth.ds: Th.s was a transverse descriptive study with.prospective collection of patient records (0 - 5 years) over a 6-month.period. Results: During our study, 100 ch.ldren aged 0 to 5 years h.d to be consulted. Th. prevalence was 61%. 62.3% of patients were male. Th. mean age was 2.01 years. Th. majority of th. patients were from th. urban area (63.93%). Almost h.lf of th. moth.rs h.d no sch.oling. 4.92% of patients were from consanguineous marriages. Pregnancies were monitored with.at least 4 prenatal visit in 86.98% of cases and 83.61% of ch.ldren were born at term. In 75.41% of cases, patients were born by eutocic delivery. In 36.07% of cases, th. patients were resuscitated at birth. Fetal distress was present in 29.5%. Seizures were present in 49.18% of th. patients of wh.ch.50% were generalized. Tonicity was not good in 35.15% and among th.m 52.63% h.d h.pertonia. 18.03% of patients h.d a motor deficit. For 34.43% of th. patients th. first nerve was affected, followed by th. th.rd nerve with.13.11%. 65.57% of th. patients h.d fixed retardation and for 78.69% of th. patients th. retardation was h.mogeneous. Neuromalaria, meningitis and h.droceph.lus were th. most incriminated causes of delay in 63.51%, 19.67% and 18.03% of cases respectively. Anticonvulsants and psych.analeptics were th. most used in 49.18% and 32.79% of cases respectively. 32.79% of patients h.d received motor reh.bilitation. All moth.rs h.d received psych.th.rapy.
