Th.rty-th.ee sa.ples were ta.en from th. Qa.za. meta.orph.c core complex to estima.e th. finite stra.n for felsic a.d ma.ic minera.s. Th.se sa.ples included gneisses rocks, monzogra.ite, a.d meta.olca.o–sedimenta.y rocks for both.th. Th.lba.0}a.d Ba.da.groups. Using th. Rf/j a.d Fry meth.ds, th. a.ia. ra.ios(XZ) ra.ge a.out 2.20 to 7.10 a.d 1.90 to 9.10, respectively. For va.ious rock units, th. stra.n mea.urements sh.w modera.e to h.gh.y deforma.ion. most of th. observed sa.ples sh.w sh.llow WNW dipping a.ong a.N to WNW trend of finite stra.n(X). Th. sh.rt a.es(Z) ba.ed to be subvertica. folia.ion rela.ed with.a.subh.rizonta. folia.ion. Th. results demonstra.e th.t conta.ts genera.ed a. semi-brittle to ductile deforma.ion a.d th.t th. stra.n of ma.nitude h.s th. sa.e va.ue for different lith.logic units.
