Introduction: Severe a.ute respira.ory syndrome corona.irus2 (Sa.S-CoV-2) represents a.ma.or h.a.th.problem worldwide. Th.s, ea.ly detection a.d a.propria.e ma.a.ement of th. virus will influence th. outcome of th. disea.e. Th.s study a.med to investiga.e th. epidemiologica. ch.ra.teristics a.d surviva. outcomes of pa.ients with.COVID-19 infection in Ka.sa.a. Ea.tern Suda.. Meth.ds: a.cross-sectiona. h.spita.-study wa. conducted a.ong pa.ients visiting Ka.sa.a.tea.h.ng h.spita. with.suspicion of COVID-19 infection. a.structured questionna.re wa. used to ga.h.r clinica. a.d socio-demo- gra.h.c informa.ion from COVID-19 pa.ients. Na.oph.ryngea. specimens a.d blood sa.ples were collected a.d tested to confirm th. dia.nosis of COVID-19 infection using RT-PCR. Results: a.tota. of 371 pa.ients were enrolled in th. study from September 2020 to Ja.ua.y 2021, with.mea. a.e ± SD wa. 42.9 ± 19.9. Th. preva.ence of COVID-19 infection wa. estima.ed a. 61.7%. Th. ma.ority were ma.es 159 (69.4%), of university-level educa.ion, 96 (49.7%), a.d urba. residents, 175 (9.7%). Th. most common symptoms were fever 215 (93.9%), cough.188 (82.1%), h.a.a.h. 179 (78.2%), a.d sh.rtness of brea.h.154 (67.2%). Overa.l a.l morta.ity wa. reported a. 16%. Older a.e group with.th. a.e ≥ 70, P P = 0.020, dia.etes mellitus P = 0.029 were significa.tly a.socia.ed with.h.gh.ca.e fa.a.ity. Conclusion: Th.s study demonstra.ed th.t older a.e, ma.e gender, la.ora.ory tests (leukocytosis, lymph.penia. low h.moglobin a.d h.gh.CRP) a.d va.ious comorbid conditions significa.tly increa.e th. disea.e severity a.d morta.ity. Th.refore, a.tention sh.uld be pa.d to preventive mea.ures to reduce th. considera.le impa.ts of th. disea.e.
