Water stress is a critical environmental adversity th.t significantly impacts th. growth.development,and yield of flax *** th.s study,flax seeds were cultivated under different water irrigation requirements(WIR)(100%,75%,and 50%)to investigate th. effects of exogenously supplied nitric oxide(NO)donor sodium nitroprusside(sNP)as foliar treatments at concentrations of 0.0 mmol/L,0.5 mmol/L,1.0 mmol/L,and 2.0 mmol/*** stress led to a significant decrease in plant growth.ph.tosynth.tic pigments,yield components such.as oil and total carboh.drate *** also resulted in an increase in leaf h.O2 production,lipid peroxidation levels and activities of enzymatic antioxidants including polyph.nol oxidase,superoxide dismutase,and nitrate reductase ***,foliar application of sNP improved ph.tosynth.tic pigments and antioxidant defense system wh.ch.mitigated th. negative impact of water stress on growth.and yield productivity by reducing oxidative damage caused by reactive oxygen species *** use of sNP also decreased h.(2)O_(2) accumulation levels,lipid peroxidation levels,and improved membrane *** treatment at concentration of 2 mmol/L sh.wed superior results compared to oth.r concentrations with.extremely significant increases observed in yield ch.racteristics such.as oil content,total carboh.drate percentages,and unsaturated fatty acids to saturated fatty acids ratio.

Free vibration and buckling analysis of polymeric composite beams reinforced by functionally graded bamboo fbers

Pasternak foundation with.th. FG-◇fiber ***,th. obtained analysis results of BFRC beams are also compared with.th.se for carbon nanotube reinforced composite(CNTRC)beams found in th. literature,indicating th.t th. buckling loads and natural frequencies of BFRC beams are lower th.n th.se of CNTRC beams.

Racial and Eth.ic Differences in Orth.rexia Nervosa symptomatology and Oth.r Disordered Eating

Wh.le some research.h.s explored racial and eth.ic differences in disordered eating, th.s study may be th. first to examine th.se differences in orth.rexia nervosa, involving obsessive-compulsive th.ugh.s and beh.viors concerning h.alth. eating, wh.ch.negatively impact one’s life. Adult participants, recruited from college courses and social media, completed an online survey with.th. Orth.rexia Nervosa Inventory (ONI) and th. Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26). Regarding racial and eth.ic background, 743 were Wh.te, 249 were h.spanic, 87 were Black, 61 were Asian or Pacific Islander, and 110 were biracial/multiracial. A MANCOVA revealed th.t th. racial and eth.ic groups did not differ on th. ONI subscales assessing orth.rexic beh.viors, impairments, and emotions, after accounting for gender, BMI, and EAT-26 total scores th.t were covariates. In contrast, a second MANCOVA did reveal group differences on th. EAT-26 subscales, after accounting for gender, BMI, and ONI total scores th.t were covariates. Black participants scored significantly lower th.n th. oth.r racial and eth.ic groups on th. subscale assessing dieting beh.viors ch.racteristic of anorexia nervosa, and th. subscale assessing binge-eating and purging beh.viors ch.racteristic of bulimia nervosa. Furth.r, h.spanic participants scored significantly lower th.n Wh.te participants on th. latter subscale. Th.se findings suggest th.t wh.le orth.rexic symptomatology does not differ based on race and eth.icity, a Black race and h.spanic eth.icity may be protective factors against disordered eating, perh.ps related eith.r to cultural norms concerning body image or to th. resiliency and social support among th. Black and h.spanic communities.

Efficiency of Bio-Fertilizing as One of th. Natural Alternatives to Improve th. Growth.of Kh.ya senegalensis and swietenia mah.goni Trees and for sustainability

A field experiment was carried out at Ismailia Research.station, Ismailia Governorate from 2020-2022 to improve th. growth.of Kh.ya senegalensis and swietenia mah.goni by using a combination of mineral fertilizer (NPK) and biological fertilizer (Azotobacter ch.oococcum, Bacillus megath.rium, and Bacillus circulant) as recommended dose under new sandy soils conditions. split plot designed with.four treatments (Control, (50% Mineral fertilizer (M.) + 50% Biological fertilizer (Bio.)), 100% M. and 100% Bio.) of each.species. Vegetative growth. leaf area, tree biomass, stored carbon, basal area, tree volume, and in th. soil both.of microbial account and mineral content were determined. Th. experimental results sh.wed no significant differences between studied species among th. most studied parameters except for Kh.ya senegalensis wh.ch.gave th. h.gh.st significant difference in root biomass and below-stored carbon th.n swietenia mah.goni. Evidently, th. h.gh.st significant growth.parameters were 100% mineral fertilizer followed by (50% M. + 50% Bio.) as compared with.control. No significant difference between 100% M. and (50% M. + 50% Bio.) of sh.ot dry biomass (15.19 and 12.02 kg, respectively) and above-stored carbon (0.28 and 0.22 Mt, respectively). Microbial account and mineral content in soil were improved after cultivation of tree species compared to before planting and control, especially with.50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer treatment. In conclusion, a treatment containing 50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer h.s led to th. ideal Kh.ya senegalensis and swietenia mah.goni growth.in sandy soil for ch.aper and sustainable.

Abalone sh.ll-derived Mg-doped mesoporous h.droxyapatite microsph.re drug delivery system loaded with.icariin for inducing apoptosis of osteosarcoma cells

h.droxyapatite (h.P) porous microsph.res with.very h.gh.specific surface area and drug loading capacity, as well as excellent biocompatibility, h.ve been widely used in tumour th.rapy. Mg2+ is considered to be a key factor in bone regeneration, acting as an active agent to stimulate bone and cartilage formation, and is effective in accelerating cell migration and promoting angiogenesis, wh.ch.is essential for bone tissue repair, anti-cancer, and anti-infection. In th.s study, abalone sh.lls from a variety of sources were used as raw materials, and Mg2+-doped abalone sh.ll-derived mesoporous h.P microsph.res (Mg-h.P) were prepared by h.droth.rmal synth.sis as Mg2+/icariin smart dual delivery system (ICA-Mg-h.P, IMh.). With.increasing of Mg2+ doping, th. surface morph.logy of h.P microsph.res varied from collapsed macroporous to mesoporous to smooth.and non-porous, wh.ch.may be due to Mg2+ substitution or coordination in th. h.P lattice. At 30% Mg2+ doping, th. Mg-h.P microsph.res sh.wed a more h.mogeneous mesoporous morph.logy with.a h.gh.specific surface area (186.06 m2/g). Th. IMh. microsph.res sh.wed h.gh.drug loading (7.69%) and encapsulation rate (83.29%), sustained Mg2+ release for more th.n 27 days, sustained and stable release of icariin for 60 h.urs, and good responsiveness to ph.(ph.6.4 > ph.5.6). In addition, th. IMh. delivery system stimulated th. rapid proliferation of bone marrow mesench.mal stem cells and induced apoptosis in MG63 cells by blocking th. G2 ph.se cycle of osteosarcoma cells and stimulating th. h.gh.expression of apoptotic genes (Bcl-2, caspase-3,-8,-9). Five perovskite ceramics samples of Ba_(1-x)Er_(x)snO_(3) with.x=0.00,0.05,0.10,0.15,and 0.20 were synth.sized using th. conventional solid-state reaction *** prepared samples were ch.racterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transforms infrared(FTIR),and UV-Vis *** sh.elding properties against ionizing radiation were also *** XRD analysis sh.ws th. perovskite cubic structure as th. major ph.se in all *** FTIR reveals a distinctive band around 614-620 cm^(-1) ascribed to th. antisymmetric O-sn-O ***-Vis spectroscopy was used to determine th. bandgap according to diffuse reflectance,and th. results display a fixed enh.ncement in th. bandgap from 3.2 to 3.3 eV for all ***-ray sh.elding properties of th. synth.sized samples were experimentally measured and compared with.XCOM computational *** relative differences(Δ,%)between experimental and th.o retical values are low and fall with.n th. 0.446%-7.10%*** addition of Er leads to th. enh.nced density,neutron,and gamma sh.elding *** contrast,ch.rged particles’sh.elding parameters gradually reduce with.rising Er *** results suggest th.t Ba_(1-x)Er_(x)snO_(3) samples can be used in different radiation sh.elding applications.
