Crystal reconstruction of V2O3/carbon heterointerfaces via anodic hydration for ultrafast and reversible Mg-ion battery cathodes

Magnesium-ion batteries(MIBs)have promising applications because of their high theoretical capacity and the natural abundance of magnesium ***,the kinetic performance and cyclic stability of cathode materials are limited by the strong interactions between Mg ions and the crystal ***,we demonstrate the unique Mg^(2+)-ion storage mechanism of a hierarchical accordion-like vanadium oxide/carbon heterointerface(V2O3@C),where the V2O3 crystalline structure is reconstructed into a MgV_(3)O_(7)·h_(2)O phase through an anodic hydration reaction upon first cycle,for the improved kinetic and cyclic *** verified by in situ/ex situ spectroscopic and electrochemical analyses,the fast charge transfer kinetics of the V2O3@C cathode were due to the crystal-reconstruction and chemically coupled *** V2O3@C demonstrated an ultrahigh rate capacity of 130.4 mAh g^(-1)at 50000 mA g^(-1)and 1000 cycles,achieving a Coulombic efficiency of 99.6%.The high capacity of 381.0 mA h g^(-1)can be attributed to the reversible Mg^(2+)-ion intercalation mechanism observed in the MgV_(3)O_(7)·h_(2)O phase using a 0.3 M Mg(TFSI)2/ACN(h_(2)O)***,within the voltage range of 2.25 V versus Mg/Mg^(2+),the V2O3@C exhibited a capacity of 245.1 mAh g^(-1)when evaluated with magnesium metal in a 0.3 M Mg(TFSI)^(2+)0.25 M MgCl_(2)/DME *** research findings have important implications for understanding the relationship between the Mg-ion storage mechanism and reconstructed crystal phase of vanadium oxides as well as the heterointerface reconstruction for the rational design of MIB cathode materials.

Background:A quality diet and an active lifestyle are both important cornerstones of cardiovascular disease(CVD)***,despite their interlinked effects on metabolic health,the 2 behaviors are rarely considered jointly,particularly within the context of CVD *** examined the independent,interactive,and joint associations of diet and physical activity with CVD hospitalization,CVD mortality,and all-cause ***:CVD-free Australian participants aged 4574 years(n=85,545)reported physical activity,diet,sociodemographic,and lifestyle characteristics at baseline(20062009)and follow-up(20122015),and data were linked to hospitalization and death registries(03/31/2019 for CVD hospitalization and all-cause mortality and 12/08/2017 for CVD mortality).Diet quality was categorized as low,medium,and high based on meeting dietary *** activity was operationalized as(a)total moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(MVPA)as per guidelines,and(b)the composition of MVPA as the ratio of vigorous-intensity physical activity(VPA)to total *** used a left-truncated cause-specific Cox proportional hazards model using time-varying ***:During a median of 10.7 years of follow-up,6576 participants were admitted to the hospital for CVD and 6581 died from all causes(876 from CVD during 9.3 years).A high-quality diet was associated with a 17%lower risk of all-cause mortality than a low-quality diet,and the highest MVPA category(compared with the lowest)was associated with a 44%and 48%lower risk of CVD and all-cause mortality,*** interactions between diet and physical activity were *** all outcomes,the lowest risk combinations involved a high-quality diet and the highest MVPA *** for total MVPA,some VPA was associated with further risk reduction of CVD hospitalization and all-cause ***:For CVD prevention and longevity,one should adhere to both a healthy d

The power grid with large proportion of hydropower may engage the ultra-low frequency oscillation (ULFO),which threatening the operation of *** the NY Power Grid system,whose dimension is over thousands,this paper reveals the cause of ULFO with the phase portrait method,i.e.,lies in the saturation of the different limits of the governor system of the generators,in other words,the occurrence of limit cycle is due to the non-smooth *** furthermore,it proposes two methods to suppress ULFO with the philosophy of destroying the condition of non-smooth *** detail,first,the phenomenon of ULFO in NY Power Grid,the damping characteristics and the limits in the governor system of the hydropower units are ***,based on the non-smooth bifurcation theory,the mathematical basis of the oscillation in the non-smooth system caused by the saturation of limits is *** then,the non-oscillation and oscillation dynamic of the system corresponding to without/with limits in the governor system are ***,it discusses the influence of the saturation of single limit on the characteristics of ULFO with the phase ***,the phase portraits of the ULFO under different faults is analyzed,and it shows that the limiting saturation occurs with a large enough ***,the ULFO is resulting from the negative damping of generation and the saturation of multiple limits under a large enough *** addition,according to the above mechanism,two strategies to suppress the ULFO,i.e.,the governor parameters tuning and the fault strength relief are *** simulation shows the effectiveness of proposed strategies.

The ultraviolet-B （UV-B） portion of sunlight has received much atten- tion in the last three decades, because radiation from this spectral region increases due to the stratospheric ozone depletion, which results from increases of chlorofiuorocarbons in the atmosphere. Plant responses to UV-B exposure vary greatly and the interpretation of and comparison between studies is hindered, mainly by the contrasting experimental conditions used and interactive factors such as low light levels and possible artifacts due to the artificial experimental conditions. It seems likely that increases in solar UV-B radiation of the magnitude anticipated under current stratospheric ozone projections will not significantly inhibit photosynthesis and cause DNA damage in plants. This is in part due to the wellevolved protection mechanisms present in most plant species. One of the significant plant responses to UV-B is changes in foliar secondary chemistry, which could be translated into significant effects at higher trophic levels through plant-herbivore interactions and decomposition, Enhanced UV-B radiation due to stratospheric ozone depletion could also cause morphological changes that would affect competitive interactions, especially if contrasting UV-B sensitivity exists among the competitors,

A recent seismic event was recorded by a deep longwall mine in Virginia at 3.7 ML on the local magnitude scale and 3.4 MMS by the United States Geological Survey(USGS) in *** investigations by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and health(NIOSh) and Coronado Coal researchers have shown that this event was associated with geological features that have also been associated with other, similar seismic events in *** mapping and geological exploration in the mining area has made it possible to forecast possible locations for future seismic *** order to use the geology as a forecaster of mining-induced seismic events and their energy potential, two primary components are *** first component is a long history of recorded seismic events with accurately plotted *** second component is a high density of geologic data within the mining *** this case, 181 events of 1.0 MLor greater were recorded by the mine's seismic network between January, 2009, and October, *** the mining area, 897 geophysical logs, 224 core holes, and 1031 fiberscope holes were examined by mine *** this information, it was found that overburden thickness, sandstone thickness, and sandstone quality contributed greatly to seismic *** the data was analyzed, a pattern became apparent indicating that the majority of seismic events occurred under specific *** forecast maps were created based on geology of previous seismic *** forecast maps have shown an accuracy of within 74%–89% when compared to the recorded 181 events that were1.0 MLor greater when considering three major geological criteria of overburden thickness of 579.12 m or greater, 6.096–12.192 m of sandstone within 15.24 m of the Pocahontas number 3 seam, and a longwall caving height of 4.572 m or less.

This paper presents a study on the statistical forecasts of typhoon tracks. Numerical models have their own systematic errors, like a bias. In order to improve the accuracy of track forecasting, a statistical model called DLM (dynamic linear model) is applied to remove the systematic error. In the analysis of typhoons occurring over the western North Pacific in 1997 and 2000, DLM is useful as an adaptive model for the prediction of typhoon tracks.

Smart grids are increasingly dependent on data with the rapid development of communication and *** one of the important data sources of smart grids,phasor measurement unit(PMU)is facing the high risk from *** with cyber attacks,global position system(GPS)spoofing attacks(GSAs)are easier to implement because they can be exploited by portable devices,without the need to access the physical ***,this paper proposes a novel method for pattern recognition of GSA and an additional function of the proposed method is the data correction to the phase angle difference(PAD)***,this paper analyzes the effect of GSA on PMU measurement and gives two common patterns of GSA,i.e.,the step attack and the ramp ***,the method of estimating the PAD deviation across a transmission line introduced by GSA is proposed,which does not require the line *** obtaining the estimated PAD deviations,the pattern of GSA can be recognized by hypothesis tests and correlation coefficients according to the statistical characteristics of the estimated PAD ***,with the case studies,the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated,and the success rate of the pattern recognition and the online performance of the proposed method are analyzed.
