Ti33O55 films are deposited with the help of an electron beam evaporator for their applications in metasurfaces. The film of subwavelength （632nm） thickness is deposited on a silicon substrate and annealed at 400℃. The ellipsometry result shows a high refractive index above 2.5 with the minimum absorption coefficient in the visible region, which is necessary for high efficiency of transparent metasurfaces. Atomic force microscopy analysis is employed to measure the roughness of the as-deposited films. it is seen from micrographs that the deposited films are very smooth with the minimum roughness to prevent scattering and absorption losses for metasurface devices. The absence of grains and cracks can be seen by scanning electron microscope analysis, which is favorable for electron beam lithography. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy reveals the transmission and reflection obtained from the film deposited on glass substrates. The as-deposited film shows high transmission above 60%, which is in good agreement with metasurfaces.

蜡梅(Chimonanthus praecox L.)是中国古老而特有的植物物种蜡梅科的成员。它花开冬季,是含有药用化合物的观赏花木。在长期的栽培过程中,不同蜡梅品种之间形态差异分化较大,如花色、花型、花香等方面。构建杂交群体有利于今后解析这些观赏性状的形成机制。本实验选取了蜡梅株系h29和h64互为父母本做杂交。以h29为母本,得到了72个后代。以h64为母本的杂交组合没有得到后代,说明蜡梅不同品种之间的结实率存在着显著差异。其后代的真实性尚未鉴定。筛选并利用SSR标记对72个后代进行真实性鉴定,发现引物Cp-33在亲本中产生的条带类型为aa×bb型,其真子代的条带类型为ab型,依据这一标准,发现在72个子代中仅有30个是真杂种,真杂种率仅为41.67%,其它可能都是自交种。这一结果与蜡梅的传粉方式有关。遗传群体构建中,子代鉴定非常重要,决定着基因定位的准确性和真实性,因此在蜡梅的遗传学分析中,子代鉴定应是必不可少的一个步骤。在多样性分析中,48对SSR引物中的10对引物(Cp-9,Cp-18,Cp-23,Cp-26,Cp-30,Cp-33,Cp-38,Cp-41和Cp-44)在父母本中发现多态性。用10个SSR标记筛选72个单株,发现只有5个标记(Cp-23,Cp-30,Cp-33,Cp-38和Cp-41)具有多态性。其中Cp-30的Nie遗传多样性值(he)和Shannon相似系数(i)分别为0.739和1.363,高于其他4个SSR位点。假杂种的Nei值(0.222)低于真实杂种(0.263)。

The relationship between timing of admission to a hospital and severity of injuries following 2005 Pakistan earthquake

Purpose： The objective of this study was to establish the relationship between the timing of admission to a hospital and the severity of injuries following an earthquake. Methods： it was a retrospective chart review of injured patients admitted to a tertiary care teaching hospital following the 2005 Pakistan earthquake. Age, gender, injury severity score, type of injuries, complications, operations, hospital stay and mortality were studied and compared at different time intervals using SPSS. Results： Most injuries were musculoskeletal [145 （59%）] vs. all other injuries, including minor lacerations [103 （41%）], but the percentage of non-musculoskeletal injuries was higher within 24 h （67% vs. 53%; respectively, p = 0.4）. injury severity score （25 ± 10 vs. 16 ± 9, p = 0.01）, multiple injuries [73% vs. 45%, p = 0.05] and crush syndrome [20% vs. 03%, p = 0.02] were significantly higher in patients admitted within 24 h. More patients with head and neck injuries were admitted within 24 h （27% vs. 18%, p = 0.4）. Patients admitted within 24 h had higher complication rates （67g vs. 32~, P = 0.01） as well as mean operative procedures （2.8 ±1.9 vs. 1.9 ± 1.9, p =0.08）. Conclusion： Our study showed that patients admitted to a hospital within 24 h following an earthquake had more severe injuries and higher complication rate than those admitted after 24 h.

Application of Box-Behnken Design for Optimization of Different Pretreatment Conditions for Cellulase Production

Effects of dilute acid and acid steam pretreatments were inspected for cellulose production of Eucalyptus leaves through Box-Behenken design, a three variable factors for response surface methodology by Bacillus subtilus K-18. Maximum cellulose production performed in 250 mL erlenmeyer flask with submerged fermentation attained at 50＂C, ph 5, 140 r· min-1 for 24 h. Results showed the efficient cellulose production from acid steam pretreatrnent （being autoclaved at 15 Psi for 15 rain） than acid pretreatment. The optimum condition for maximum carboxymethyl cellulas （CMCase） was 1.811 iU·mL-1·min-1 （0.8% acid cone., 10 g biomass loading, 6 h reaction time） and filter paper activity （FPase） was 2.255 iU·mL·-1·min-1 （1% acid conc., 10 g biomass loading, 8 h reaction time）. Whereas, the acid steam maximum CMCase activity recorded was 2.585 iU·mL-1·min-1 （0.8% acid cone., 15 g substrate loading and 8 h reaction time） and the highest FPase activity was 2.055 iU·mL-1·min-1 （0.8% cone., 10 g biomass, 6 h reaction time then autoclaved）. Results revealed that acid pretreated Eucalyptus leaves were better lignocellulosic biomass for cellulose production by submerged fermentation.

BACKGROUND Peptic ulcer disease(PUD)remains a significant healthcare burden,contributing to morbidity and mortality *** advancements in therapies,its prevalence persists,particularly in regions with widespread nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs(NSAiDs)use and helicobacter pylori *** To comprehensively analyse the risk factors and outcomes of PUD-related upper gastrointestinal(Gi)bleeding in Pakistani *** This retrospective cohort study included 142 patients with peptic ulcer bleeding who underwent upper Gi endoscopy from January to December *** on demographics,symptoms,length of stay,mortality,re-bleed,and Forrest classification was *** The mean age of patients was 53 years,and the majority was men(68.3%).hematemesis(82.4%)and epigastric pain(75.4%)were the most common presenting *** patients(73.2%)were discharged within five *** mortality rates at one week and one month were 10.6%and 14.8%,***-bleed within 24 h and seven days occurred in 14.1%and 18.3%of patients,*** ulcers were Forrest class(FC)Ⅲ(72.5%).Antiplatelet use was associated with higher mortality at 7 and 30 d,while alternative medications were linked to higher 24-hour re-bleed *** use was associated with more FCⅢ***-bleed at 24 h and 7 d was strongly associated with one-week or one-month *** Antiplatelet use and rebleeding increase the risk of early mortality in PUD-related upper Gi bleeding,while alternative medicines are associated with early rebleeding.
