Analysis of explosion risk factor potential on coal reclaim tunnel facilities by modified analytical hierarchy process

This study focused on developing a risk assessment method for explosion at a coal reclaim tunnel （CRT） facility. The method was developed based on an analytical hierarchy process （AhP）, which is an expert system that quantifies the factors of explosion incidents, based on events and hierarchies. In this paper, the proposed model was modification from original AhP model, specifically modifying the structure from ＂alternative＇s results＂ to ＂total risk-rating＇s results＂. The total risk-rating is obtained by summing up risk-rating of each factor, where the risk-rating is a multiplication product of the risk value by the AhP weighted value. To support decision-making using the expert system, data on the real conditions of the CRT were collected and analyzed. A physical modeling of the CRT with laboratory-scale experiments was carried out to show the impact of a ventilation system in CRT on diluting the methane gas and coal dust, in order to support the quantification of AhP risk value. The criteria to evaluate the risk of explosion was constructed from six components that are： fuel, oxygen, ignition, confinement, dispersion, and monitoring system. Those components had fifty-two factors that serve as sub-components （root causes）. The main causes of explosion in CRT were found to be： mechanical ventilation failure and abnormal ventilation, breakdown of monitoring system, and coal spontaneous-combustion. Assessments of two CRT facilities at Mine A and Mine B were carried out as a case study in order to check the reliability of the developed AhP method. The results showed that the risk rating of Mine A was classified as high and Mine B was classified as medium, which is in a good agreement with the site conditions.

Sludge granulation and efficiency of phase separator in UASB reactor treating combined industrial effluent

Sludge granulation and the effect of gas-liquid-solid separator （GLSS） design on the efficiency of upflow anaerobic sludge blanket （UASB） and upflow anaerobic sludge filter （UASF） reactors, operating at hRTs ranging from 3 to 12 h was investigated. VSS/TS ratio gradually increased in both the reactors with increasing sludge age （from 0.5 to more than 0.7 for UASB reactor and 0.012 to 0.043 for UASF reactor）. X-Ray diffraction analysis of the UASF sludge showed the presence of expanding clays revealing its additional absorption capability. Fuoraphyllite and albite precipitation related to excellular polymers of the microbial shell structure, showed the extended growth of microorganisms during sludge granulation. A gradual decrease （82%-69%） in COD removal with decreasing hRT was apparent in UASF reactor. In case of UASB reactor, this decrease was marginal because addition of GLSS device significantly improved （14%-20%） the overall efficiency of the UASB reactor. GLSS enhanced the efficiency of the UASB reactor by increasing the settleability of suspended particles and accelerating the coagulation of colloidal particles due to the velocity gradient.

BACKGROUND:It is not clear whether Emergency Severity Index(ESI)is valid to triage heart failure(hF)patients and if hF patients benefi t more from a customized triage scale or *** aim of study is to compare the effect of heart Failure Triage Scale(hFTS)and ESI on mistriage among patients with hF who present to the emergency department(ED).METhODS:A randomized clinical trial was conducted from April to June *** patients with dyspnea were randomly assigned to hFTS or ESI *** level,used resources and time to electrocardiogram(ECG)were compared between both groups among hF patients who were admitted to coronary care unit(CCU),cardiac unit(CU)and discharged patients from the *** validity was examined using Kappa designating agreement on relevance(K*).Reliability of both scale was evaluated using inter-observer agreement(Kappa).RESULTS:Seventy-three and 74 hF patients were assigned to hFTS and ESI groups *** to ECG in hFTS group was signifi cantly shorter than that of ESI group(2.05 vs.16.82 minutes).Triage level between hFTS and ESI groups was signifi cantly different among patients admitted to CCU(1.0 vs.2.8),cardiac unit(2.26 vs.3.06)and discharged patients from the ED(3.53 vs.2.86).Used resources in hFTS group was significantly different among triage levels(h=25.89;df=3;PhFTS is associated with less mistriage than ESI for triaging hF *** is recommended to make use of hFTS to triage hF patients in the ED.

In this study influence of different seed priming treatments on the nutrient-homeostasis and reserve metabolism during seedling emergence and growth of rice were determined. Seed priming treatments included pre-germination, hydropriming for 48 h, osmohardening with KCl and CaCl2, ascorbate priming and hardening. All treatments shortened the emergence time and enhanced the energy and index of seedling emergence. Seedlings from primed seeds had greater length, number of roots and fresh and dry mass than control. Among the treatments, CaCl2, ascorbate and KCl proved better in enhancing emergence and seedling growth. Seed priming changed the pattern of N and Ca^2＋ homeostasis both of the seeds and seedlings, which were associated to enhancing s-amylase activity and reducing sugars content. Positive correlations of seedling attributes with nutrient content suggested that as a result of seed priming, most of N and Ca^2＋ were partitioned to embryo, which enhanced seedling emergence and subsequent growth of rice seedlings.

In this research, we report a bulk heterojunction（BhJ） solar cell consisting of a ternary blend system. Poly（3-hexylthiophene） P3 hT is used as a donor and [6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methylester（PCBM） plays the role of acceptor whereas vanadyl 2,9,16,23-tetraphenoxy-29 h, 31h-phthalocyanine（VOPc Ph O） is selected as an ambipolar transport material. The materials are selected and assembled in such a fashion that the generated charge carriers could efficiently be transported rightwards within the blend. The organic BhJ solar cells consist of ITO/PEDOT：PSS/ternary BhJ blend/Al structure. The power conversion efficiencies of the ITO/ PEDOT：PSS/P3hT：PCBM/Al and ITO/PEDOT：PSS/P3hT：PCBM：VOPcPhO/Al solar cells are found to be 2.3% and 3.4%, respectively.

Fluorine doped tin oxide SnO2：F thin films were prepared by the spray pyrolysis （SP） technique on glass substrates by using SnC12.2h2O as a precursor and Nh4F and hF as doping compounds. A comparison between the properties of the films obtained by using the two doping compounds was performed by using I-V characteristics in the dark at room temperature, AC measurements, and transmittance. It is found that the films prepared by using hF have smaller resistivity, lower impedance and they are less capacitive than films prepared by using Nh4F. In addition, these films have higher transmittance, higher optical bandgap energy and narrower Urbach tail width. These results are interesting for the use of SnO2：F as forecontact in CdS/CdTe solar cells.

Objective: To search for the most active antimicrobial and antioxidant sub-fractions related to traditional use of Ziziphus oxyphylla(Z. oxyphylla) and Cedrela serrata(C. serrata) in Pakistan against infectious and liver ***: Factions of different polarity were tested in vitro for their antiprotozoal,antimalarial, antibacterial and antifungal activity against different pathogens. Cytotoxicity on MRC-5 cell lines(human lung fibroblasts) as well as, in vitro radical scavenging activity was evaluated using the 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical ***: The highest antiprotozoal activity was observed for the ChCl3 fractions of Z. oxyphylla roots and leaves, and C. serrata bark. The ChCl3 and Et OAc fractions of Z. oxyphylla roots, the ChCl3 fraction of Z. oxyphylla leaves, the Et OAc and the residual Me Oh: h2 O fraction of C. serrata bark showed antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The same residual Me Oh: h2 O fraction of C. serrata bark was active against Candida albicans. The highest antioxidant activity was observed for the more hydrophilic Et OAc fractions of Z. oxyphylla leaves, C. serrata bark and leaves, and the residual Me Oh: h2 O fraction of C. serrata ***: This study supports at least in part the traditional uses of these plants for antimicrobial purposes and against liver diseases.

Molecular interactions of a representative pyrrolidinium-based ionic liquid 1-butyl-l-methyl-pyrrolidinium bis（triflorosulfonyl）- imide （[BMPyrr][TFSI]） with dimethyl sulfoxide （DMSO） and acetonitrile （AN） have been analyzed in this work. Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （ATR-FTIR） and density functional theory （DFT） calculations are used in the investigation, while excess infrared spectra and two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy are used to explore the data in detail. It has been found that the molecular solvents can interact with TFSI- （mainly with S=O and weakly with S-N-S group）. AN interacts feebly with BMPyrr＋ as compared with the strong interaction of DMSO. The strength of the interactions depends on the electron donating ability of the solvent. Upon mixing, hydrogen bonds regarding C-hs in cation and S-N-S in anion are weakened, while that regarding S=O in anion is strengthened. Among the C-hs which are connected directly with the N of the cation, Cl-h is the main interaction site for both DMSO and AN. This means that Cl-h is the most acidic hydrogen in pyrrolidinium cation.
