Understanding the local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys via machine learning potential

the local structure and thermophysical behavior of Mg-La liquid alloys were in-depth understood using deep potential molecular dynamic(DPMD) simulation driven via machine learning to promote the development of Mg-La alloys. the robustness of the trained deep potential(DP) model was thoroughly evaluated through several aspects, including root-mean-square errors(RMSEs), energy and force data, and structural information comparison results;the results indicate the carefully trained DP model is reliable. the component and temperature dependence of the local structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy was analyzed. the effect of Mg content in the system on the first coordination shell of the atomic pairs is the same as that of temperature. the pre-peak demonstrated in the structure factor indicates the presence of a medium-range ordered structure in the Mg-La liquid alloy, which is particularly pronounced in the 80at% Mg system and disappears at elevated temperatures. the density, self-diffusion coefficient, and shear viscosity for the Mg-La liquid alloy were predicted via DPMD simulation, the evolution patterns with Mg content and temperature were subsequently discussed, and a database was established accordingly. Finally, the mixing enthalpy and elemental activity of the Mg-La liquid alloy at 1200 K were reliably evaluated,which provides new guidance for related studies.

Several factors overlap in making urban heritage conservation vulnerable in terms of long-term *** purpose of this study is to offer insights into the dynamic role that heritage governance plays in the current sustainability *** purpose is achieved by investigating the shift from a‘governing for culture’approach to a‘governing through culture’approach in heritage ***,a case is built for a circularity-based conservation strategy applicable to the governance of historic *** indicators of the circular governance approach are considered,and useful data are collected in comparative *** cross-matching relationship between the factors is then evaluated by employing the analytic hierarchy process(AhP)on the collected *** a test case,the conservation strategy of the Medina of tunis is *** a more general conservation model,case-specific data are ***,the same framework is applied to compare the case-dependent and case-independent data to define an integrated conservation *** obtained results show that the knowledge and data exchange factor,carries the highest *** result translates into heritage-led urban regeneration through knowledge sharing and the effective redistribution of cultural activities in historic city centres.

the aim of this work was to investigate the microstructure and mechanical properties of 1vol%-Ni-added yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) toughened alumina composites. First, Ni powders were heterogeneously precipitated in an alumina–zirconia powder mixture suspended in water;the prepared specimens were then pressureless sintered at 1550°C/2 h in a 90vol%Ar/10vol% h2 atmosphere. the structure of phases and microstructure of the composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Mechanical characterization of the specimens was carried out through Vickers hardness, Vickers indentation toughness, and three-point flexural bending tests. the fine Ni particles were homogeneously dispersed throughout the alumina matrix because of the employed processing method. Furthermore, hardness and toughness values were found to increase by 8% and 50%, respectively, with Ni addition, whereas the relative densities and flexural strength values were found to remain unchanged.

Bubbles generated during the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in water splitting readily adhere to the electrode surface,thereby impeding contact between the electrolyte and the active sites,thereby increasing the ***,it is imperative to elucidate the bubble release behavior and engineer electrodes that facilitate faster bubble *** this study,inspired by the wood stem of the Norway spruce,we synthesized a gradient nanoporous high-entropy oxide(GNP-hEO)electrode with a controllable pore *** GNP-hEO,featuring a well-controlled gradient in pore size,is achieved through a straightforward strategy combining selective laser melting with selective phase *** unique gradient nanoporous structure not only facilitates bubble release but also diminishes the bubble shielding effect in OER,thereby enhancing electrocatalytic *** affect interaction of Al,Co,Cr,Fe,and Ni,coupled with the gradient nanoporous structure,yields exceptional OER performance,evidenced by an overpotential of 250 mV at a current density of 50 mA/cm^(2) and a tafel slope of 38.0 mV/dec in 1 M *** functional theory calculations confirm that the GNPhEO adheres to the adsorbate evolution mechanism reaction pathway and exhibits significant *** work highlights a promising approach for the design and synthesis of high-performance OER electrocatalysts.

As kinematic calculations are complicated, it takes a long time and is difficult to get the desired accurate result with a single processor in real-time motion control of multi-degree-of-freedom(MDOF) systems. Another calculation unit is needed, especially with the increase in the degree of freedom. the main central processing unit(CPU) has additional loads because of numerous motion elements which move independently from each other and their closed-loop controls. the system designed is also complicated because there are many parts and cabling. this paper presents the design and implementation of a hardware that will provide solutions to these problems. It is realized using the Very high Speed Integrated Circuit hardware Description Language(VhDL) and field-programmable gate array(FPGA). this hardware is designed for a six-legged robot and has been working with servo motors controlled via the serial port. the hardware on FPGA calculates the required joint angles for the feet positions received from the serial port and sends the calculated angels to the servo motors via the serial port. this hardware has a co-processor for the calculation of kinematic equations and can be used together with the equipment that would reduce the electromechanical mess. It is intended to be used as a tool which will accelerate the transition from design to application for robots.

Carbon materials are widely recognized as highly promising electrode materials for various energy storage system *** tar residues(CtR),as a type of carbon-rich solid waste with high value-added utilization,are crucially important for the development of a more sustainable *** this study,we employed a straightforward direct carbonization method within the temperature range of 700-1000℃to convert the worthless solid waste CtR into economically valuable carbon materials as anodes for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).the effect of carbonization temperature on the microstructure and the potassium ions storage properties of CtR-derived carbons(CtRCs)were systematically explored by structural and morphological characterization,alongside electrochemical performances *** on the co-regulation between the turbine layers,crystal structure,pore structure,functional groups,and electrical conductivity of CtR-derived carbon carbonized at 900℃(CtRC-900h),the electrode material with high reversible capacity of 265.6m Ah·g^(-1)at 50 m A·g^(-1),a desirable cycling stability with 93.8%capacity retention even after 100 cycles,and the remarkable rate performance for PIBs were ***,cyclic voltammetry(CV)at different scan rates and galvanostatic intermittent titration technique(GItt)have been employed to explore the potassium ions storage mechanism and electrochemical kinetics of *** indicate that the electrode behavior is predominantly governed by surface-induced capacitive processes,particularly under high current densities,with the potassium storage mechanism characterized by an“adsorption-weak intercalation”*** work highlights the potential of CtR-based carbon as a promising electrode material category suitable for high-performance PIBs electrodes,while also provides valuable insights into the new avenues for the high value-added utilization of CtR.

Seawater electrolysis is a promising approach for sustainable energy without relying on precious ***,the large-scale seawater electrolysis is hindered by low catalytic efficiency and severe anode corrosion caused by the harmful *** contrast to the oxygen evolution reaction （OER）and chlorin ion oxidation reaction （ClOR）,glycerol oxidation reaction （GOR） is more thermodynamically and kinetically favorable ***,a Ru doping cobalt phosphide （Ru-CoP2） is proposed as a robust bifunctional electrocatalyst for seawater electrolysis and GOR,for the concurrent productions of hydrogen and value-added *** in situ and ex situ characterization analyses demonstrated that Ru doping featured in the dynamic reconstruction process from Ru-CoP2to Ru-CoOOh,accounting for the superior GOR *** coupling GOR with hydrogen evolution was realized by employing Ru-CoP2as both anode and cathode,requiring only a low voltage of 1.43 V at 100 mA cm-2,which was 250 m V lower than that in alkaline *** work guides the design of bifunctional electrocatalysts for energy-efficient seawater electrolysis coupled with biomass resource upcycling.

Grade A （GA） and high strength steel Dh36 ship steels possessing different chemical compositions were used, and strength properties of GA steel and Dh36 steel were compared. Additionally, 4 types of dual phase （DP） steels with different martensite volume fractions （MVFs） were produced from GA steel by means of heat treatment and they were compared with other steels through conducting mierostructure, microhardness, tensile and impact tests. the fracture surfaces of specimens （Dh36, GA and DP steels） exposed to tensile and Charpy impact tests were investigated by scanning electron microscope. Furthermore, it was found that the specimens quenched from 800 and 900℃ had better strength than Dh36 steel. the tensile test results indicated that the tensile strength of DP steel water quenched from 900℃ was 3 times that of GA steel and twice that of Dh36 steel.

the multi-class classification of images is a pivotal challenge within the realm of image processing. As the volume of visual data continues to expand, there is a burgeoning interest in harnessing the unique capabilities of quantum computation to augment the efficiency of classification tasks. however, many existing methods for training quantum image multi-classifiers parallel classical machine learning techniques, where the requisite circuit measurements increase linearly with the volume of training data. this work introduces a novel approach for training a quantum image multi-classifier based on the quantum search algorithm. We have meticulously conducted rigorous experiments on a handwritten digit dataset, a classic benchmark in the field. the results have been meticulously compared with previous works, and the comparative analysis not only validates the efficiency of our proposed approach, requiring only O(N/b) measurements during training, but also highlights a significant quadratic speedup of the algorithm.
