Many industrial processes may quickly proceed with biotechnological and enzymatic *** and production facilitator properties of enzymes have provided variable advantages for ***,enzyme utilization has become inevitable for industry and supplied financial advantages in case of the high energy requirement *** the study,the amylase enzymes were isolated from thermal spring sources,and the effect on bread quality was ***,fungal amylases were isolated from thermal spring sources(29-98◦C)in various places around *** determining the functional properties of amylase enzymes,the most active enzyme was used in bread production to examine their effect on bread *** maximum alpha-amylase activity(38.6 U/mg)has been detected in Aspergillus niger G 2-1 *** compared with the commercially available one,native alpha-amylase increased the bread volume.A significant difference(phe color properties and size of the bread between microbial produced in this study and commercially produced *** ppm alpha-amylase addition showed the optimum bread properties for dough processing.

No evidence of predator odor avoidance in a North American bird community

Recent advances in our understanding of avian chemical communication have highlighted the importance of olfaction in many aspects of avian *** studies investigating predator avoidance behaviors in response to predator odor cues have produced mixed results across species and *** we assess if a community of birds in eastern Pennsylvania displays avoidance behaviors towards predator odor cues in a natural foraging *** use clay caterpillars to measure foraging activity by birds in the presence of predator(bobcat)urine,non-predator(rabbit)urine,and water controls in two different environmental contexts(field ***).Although we detected a weak trend for birds to forage less at predator urine-treated sites,we found no significant difference in avian foraging between the site *** did find that foraging rates between environmental contexts changed significantly over the course of the experiment,with forest sites showing decreasing foraging rates and field sites showing increasing foraging *** results reinforce the published literature that avoidance of predator odors by birds may not be ubiquitous across contexts and species.

Selenium: The Cancer Shield

Introduction: Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the world and the treatments are being improved day by day. Although chemotherapy agents have begun to be used, side effects, resistance development and toxicity seen with these drugs are still steps that limit treatment. Objective: Our aim in this study is to show whether sodium selenate (NaS), which has different effects on many different cells, has antiproliferative and apoptotic effects on MCF-7 breast cancer cells, considering the dose-time relationship, and to reveal its effect on oxidant stress parameters. Methods: 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 μM sodium selenate was applied to the cells for 24, 48 and 72 hours. MTT test was applied to show the proliferative effect. Apoptosis was also measured with Annexin V/7AAD in MCF7 cells. Malondaldehyde (MDA) and Glutathione (GSh) levels were studied to reveal the oxidant/antioxidant balance. Results: It has been shown that as the NaS dose increases in MCF-7 cells, cell viability decreases (p 0.05), but at all subsequent increasing NaS doses, viability was found statistically significant decreased (p: 0.001, p 0.05, respectively). Conclusion: Considering that NaS has an antitumor effect on breast cancer, increases oxidative stress and increases apoptosis by supressing the antioxidant protection system, and does not have a toxic effect on normal body cells at certain doses. When all these features evaluated, we think, selenium should be considered as a natural option in the treatment of breast cancer.

Subsequent pregnancy outcomes and fertility rates in the case series that underwent bilateral hypogastric artery ligation(BhGAL)due to severe postpartum hemorrhage

Objective:To evaluate the effect of bilateral hypogastric artery ligation(BhGAL)on women's pregnancy outcomes and fertility rates in cases with severe postpartum ***:Patients hospitalized in a tertiary care center between 2007 and 2018 were included in the *** records of cases were obtained from the hospital database,*** demographic data,morbidities or complications associated with BhGAL surgery,any additional haemostatic interventional or surgical procedures,preoperative admission and lowest postoperative haematocrit-hemoglobin values,blood products given,type of anaesthesia,intensive care unit(ICU)and length of hospital stay were *** cases without surgical sterilization,future fertility and subsequent pregnancy outcomes were assessed for at least two years after *** was obtained through face-to-face or telephone interviews with patients whose long-term fertility and subsequent pregnancy outcomes were ***:Sixty-eight patients with BhGAL surgery history were included in the study.26 Of 37 cases(70%)that did not undergo surgical sterilization had a desire for pregnancy after the *** of these cases(23%)were diagnosed with secondary *** fertility rate of these cases was 77%,and subsequent pregnancy was detected in 20 women.A total of 25 pregnancies,including first and second pregnancies,developed,and 15 of these pregnancies resulted in term delivery,six preterm births,one stillbirth,and three ***:The postoperative pregnancy rate was found to be higher than the rate of women with infertility problems,and this surgery does not seem to adversely affect pregnancy *** is a tertiary center experience and cohort studies with large patient series are needed.

Evaluation of Interferon-Gamma Release Assay Testing and Tuberculin Skin Test for Early Diagnosis of Tuberculosis in Children and Adolescents

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of interferon-γ release assay (IGRA), a sensitive microbiological diagnostic method, in children and adolescents with suspected tuberculosis in a country with a high burden of tuberculosis. Method: This study included 581 children and adolescents aged 4 - 19 years who were suspected of having tuberculosis, were latently infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and had received at least one dose of BCG vaccine between April 17, 2019, and February 24, 2021. The study evaluated the TST results of 106 patients who had a positive Quantiferon test and were suspected of having tuberculosis. Results: The study included 581 patients aged between 4 and 19 years. Of these, 106 patients tested positive for the Quantiferon test, while 19 were indeterminate and 456 were negative. The Quantiferon test positivity rate was 18.24%. Among the 106 QFT-Plus-positive cases, 23 patients also tested positive for TST. The difference in distribution was found to be statistically significant. Conclusion: The QFT-Plus test is considered an alternative to TST and other microbiological diagnostic methods for early tuberculosis diagnosis, particularly in children and adolescents.

本文利用ERA-50.25°×0.25°再分析资料,通过计算2020年5月6~7日中昆仑山北坡极端暴雨天气过程中湿位涡和锋生函数,给出暴雨过程大气不稳定性演变特征,明确锋面系统在对流触发中的作用,并得出以下结论:(1)本次中昆仑山北坡暴雨期间,200 hPa高空两支急流造成辐散叠加区,500 hPa中亚低涡、高原北部切变线缓慢移动过程中,配合低层700 hPa地形辐合抬升、地面高压前冷气团与塔里木盆地暖气团交汇,为中昆仑山北坡浅山区云团发展提供有利的动力、热力条件。(2)暴雨分为两个阶段,第一阶段(EP1)于田至且末一线降水期间,对流层低层暴雨区为对流不稳定大气层结;第二阶段(EP2-1)策勒地区短时强降水期间,策勒对流层低层逐渐由对流不稳定大气转为条件对称不稳定大气层结,对流层低层Mpv2变化由大气的湿斜压性和低层水平风的垂直切变所造成;受前期降水和凝结潜热释放影响,第二阶段(EP2-2)策勒至洛浦一线低层增暖增湿,对流层低层转为对流不稳定大气层结。(3)地形辐合抬升是第一阶段降水中尺度云团生成的主要原因,低层冷锋锋生触发对流不稳定能量释放,且末附近云团迅速发展,同时塔里木盆地气流沿地形爬坡至高原北部,在500 hPa附近冷锋锋生,与高原北侧暖锋短时间对峙形成冷式锢囚锋,锋面附近垂直运动增强使得对流云团快速发展,与且末附近对流云团合并加强,造成第一阶段(EP1)于田至且末一线降水天气;第二阶段(EP2-1)策勒短时强降水期间,对流层低层700 hPa冷锋锋生,云团移动方向暖湿入流气流与云下蒸发和云后入流冷气团相遇,暖气团沿底层冷池进一步爬升,使得云团迅速发展至成熟阶段,造成策勒地区出现短时强降水天气;随着中亚低涡逐渐进入研究区,对流层低层—中层冷锋锋生,进一步加强了上升运动的发展,是第二阶段(EP2-2)策勒至洛浦一线持续性降水天气的重要原因。

Variations in Toxic Metal Levels of Two Fish Species, Pomatomus saltatrix and Dicentrarchus labrax, and Risk Estimation for Children

The concentrations of five toxic metals were monthly determined in two fish species,obtained from fish markets in Turkey during 2010—*** the determinations,AAS and ICP-AES were *** obtained lead concentrations for all studied Pomatomus saltatrix(mean 635μg·kg-1)and Dicentrarchus labrax(mean 463μg·kg-1)samples were found to be significantly higher than the maximum allowances concentration(MAC)of 300μg·*** chromium(324μg·kg-1)and Cu(940μg·kg-1)concentrations in Pomatomus saltatrix were higher than in Dicentrarchus labrax(268μg Cr·kg-1 and 600μg Cu·kg-1)while Ni in Pomatomus saltatrix(216μg·kg-1)was lower in Dicentrarchus labrax(291μg·kg-1).The estimated non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic health risks by the Target hazard Quotient and target carcinogenic risk indicate that there are no sytemic effects,and the risk of developing cancer over a human lifetime is between 2~9in 1 000 000.
