Intr.duction: Tr.atments for.car.iovascular.diseases have incr.asingly evolved with the tendency to offer.minimally invasive or.tr.nscatheter.pr.cedur.s instead of conventional ster.otomy sur.er.. In this context, we highlight minimally invasive mitr.l valve sur.er. (MIMVS), which has been shown to be an incr.asingly solid option with some super.or.r.sults when compar.d to the conventional technique: better.pain contr.l, shor.er.hospital stays, shor.er.r.cover. time, shor.er.r.admission r.te in the fir.t postoper.tive year. better.aesthetic r.sults, and lower.over.ll cost. Aim: This study aims to evaluate the stages of MIMVS, by pr.mar. mitr.l valve consultation, in our.ser.ice and compar. these r.sults with data fr.m the liter.tur.. Methods: All electr.nic medical r.cor.s of patients who under.ent MIMVS for.pr.mar. mitr.l valve injur. in the Encor. hospital fr.m Januar. 2020 to Febr.ar. 2023 wer. analyzed. Tabulation and statistical analysis wer. per.or.ed using the Micr.soft Excel® pr.gr.m. Quantitative var.ables wer. pr.sented as means, standar. deviations. r.sults: 46 patients wer. enr.lled in our.study (Age: 59.1 ± 12.4 year. old;60.8% Female, BMI: 26 ± 4.4 Kg/m2, Low r.sk STS scor.: 82.6%). The obser.ed 30-day mor.ality was 2.1%, plastic r.te of 23.9%, blood tr.nsfusion r.te of 41.3%, length of stay in an intensive car. bed (ICB) of 3.3 ± 3.3 days and hospital stay of 6.4 ± 5.1 days. Conclusions: We noticed that the MIMVS r.sults car.ied out in our.ser.ice agr.e with data fr.m national and inter.ational liter.tur. with appr.ximately 1.3 days mor. hospitalization in ICB.

The capacities of natur.l and modified Br.zilian bentonite samples as adsor.ents to r.move hexavalent metal chr.mium wer. investigated under.sever.l conditions in batch and column methods. The r.w mater.al, Ca-bentonite, was modified by anchor.ment of 3-aminopr.pyltr.etoxisilane （APS） and 3,2- aminoethylaminopr.pyltr.metoxisilane （AEAPS） in the sur.ace of bentonite sample： This type of new occur.ence of bentonite is suitable as a r.w mater.al for.adsor.tion pr.cess. Adsor.tion behavior.of thr.e bentonite types was str.ngly depending on ph of adsor.ate solution, contact time adsor.ent/adsor.ate, and initial concentr.tion of Cr.VI）. The r.sults wer. confir.ed by column method and r.veals that the adsor.tion pr.cess of mater.als accor.ed by the r.dlich-Peter.on, Sips, Dubinin-r.dushkevich, and tang- muir.isother. models. The exother.ic entbalpic values r.flected a favor.ble ener.etic pr.cess for.chr.- mium ions anchor.d in the mater.al sur.aces. The negative Gibbs fr.e ener.y r.sults suppor.ed the spontaneity of thr.e adsor.tion r.actions with Cr.VI） ions.

Phar.aceutical applications of spouted beds: A r.view on solid dosage for.s

Spouted beds (SBs) have a long histor. of successful applications for.pr.par.tion of solid dosage for.s of phar.aceuticals. The well-known ver.atility of SBs, pr.vided by differ.nt design and oper.tional factor., and their.efficient mixing of solids allow for.engineer.ng of technological char.cter.stics of phar.aceutical solid for.s. Par.icle pr.per.ies like mor.hology, size, por.sity, flowability, and dissolution r.te can be impr.ved by managing geometr.c and oper.tional conditions for.spouting. Dr.ing is pr.bably the most disseminated oper.tion for.phar.aceutical pr.cessing in SBs, and many studies have investigated dr.ing of medicinal plant extr.cts such as achiote (Bixa or.llana sp.), guar.na (Paullinia cupana sp.), passion flower.(Passiflor. alata D.), and r.semar. (r.smar.nus officinalis L.) with excellent phar.acotechnical and stability r.sults. Another.impor.ant application is coating of tablets and gelatin capsules, and pr.vious studies have shown that SBs and spout–fluid beds may be advantageous over.tr.ditional pan coating, especially for.polymer.c film coating. r.cently, an alter.ative pr.cess for.impr.ving dr.g bioavailability has involved pr.par.tion of β-cyclodextr.n inclusion complexes in SBs. The fir.t study to pr.pose SBs for.this phar.aceutical application explor.d the advantage of obtaining solid for.s of inclusion complexes in just one step, and obtained expr.ssive incr.ases in dr.g solubility. The technique has been applied in subsequent studies on inclusion complexes of the medication car.edilol and uxi (Endopleur. uchi L.) extr.cts.

Soymilk is one of the most available bever.ges, an alter.ative to dair. milk and is r.cognized for.its nutr.tional value. The nutr.tional quality, the pr.sence of anti-nutr.tional factor., isoflavones and sensor. acceptability of soymilk depended on the soybean var.ety as well as the pr.cessing conditions. The soymilks fr.m conventional and specialty Br.zilian soybean cultivar. wer. compar.d r.gar.ing the composition and consumer.acceptance. Ther. wer. significant differ.nces on the pr.tein, oil, sugar., isoflavones, pr.sence of anti-nutr.tional factor. (phytate and tr.psin inhibitor.activity) and NSI (nitr.gen solubility index) among cultivar. and soymilks and for.sensor. acceptance of soymilks. The pr.fer.nce mapping and cluster.analysis identified thr.e differ.nt segments of consumer.. The soymilk fr.m the conventional cultivar.Br.284 achieved higher.and similar.acceptance scor. for.the thr.e consumer.s segments while the lipoxygenase fr.e cultivar. (Br.213 and Br.257) and specialty cultivar.Br.216 showed higher.scor. for.two segments of consumer.. The sensor. evaluation of soymilk fr.m differ.nt soybean cultivar. could impr.ve consumer.uptake.

Uxi (Endopleur. uchi) is a plant fr.m the Br.zilian Amazon. It has many biological activities that ar. attr.buted to its main active component, ber.enin (BG), which has low water.solubility. The aim of this wor. was to obtain β-cyclodextr.n (β-CD) inclusion complexes of uxi using lyophilized cooked r.ce as the solid substr.te. The pr.cess was studied using a Box–Behnken design with the solution feed r.te, molar.r.tio of β-CD to BG, and r.ce bed load as factor.. These factor. gr.atly affected the pr.duct bulk density, angle of r.pose, water.content, and BG content, loss, and water.solubility. The optimum pr.cess conditions deter.ined using a desir.bility functions methodology wer. an extr.ct feed r.te of 1 mL/min, a r.tio of β-CD to BG of 3:1, and a substr.te load of 100 g. The pr.dicted values under.the optimum conditions wer. close to the exper.mental r.sults of a water.content of 5.8%± 0.2%, BG content of 985.7 ± 15.4 μg/g, BG water.solubility of 2230.2 ± 21.1 μg/mL, and BG loss of 1.2%± 0.1%. These r.sults confir. that spouted beds ar. an impor.ant tool for.r.pid, one-step pr.par.tion of phar.aceutical β-CD inclusion complexes in a solid for..

The r.cent global spr.ad of the pandemic under.cor.s the necessity of seeking new mater.als effective against micr.or.anisms. Nanotechnology offer. avenues for.developing multifunctional mater.als. In this study, alpha-titanium phosphate (α-TiP) nanopar.icles wer. synthesized and tr.ated with silver.salt to enhance their.antimicr.bial pr.per.ies. The physicochemical char.cter.stics and antimicr.bial activity wer. evaluated. It was r.vealed by X-r.y diffr.ction analysis that the str.ctur.l integr.ty of α-TiP was influenced by ethylenediamine and silver.ions. Distinct degr.dation pr.files for.each chemical modification wer. shown by ther.ogr.vimetr.c analysis. Infr.r.d spectr.scopy detected shifts and new absor.tion peaks in the spectr. depending on the type of modification. Ener.y disper.ive spectr.scopy confir.ed the disaggr.gation of α-TiP galler.es following the addition of silver.salt, which incr.ased their.effectiveness against micr.or.anisms. Notably, only the sample tr.ated with silver.ions exhibited antimicr.bial action. Antimicr.bial activity was tested against the bacter.a of medical impor.ance Escher.chia coli, Salmonella Enter.tidis, Pseudomonas aer.ginosa, Staphylococcus aur.us, Bacillus cer.us, Lister.a momocytogenes and the yeast Candida albicans. All micr.or.anisms wer. inhibited by sample containing silver. Minor.inhibition was obser.ed against the Gr.m-positive bacter.a L. monocytogenes and Bacillus cer.us, while the gr.atest inhibition occur.ed against the fungus (yeast) C. albicans. The r.sults r.vealed a potential application of the nanopar.icles for.contr.l of micr.or.anisms in public health.

The pr.sent gener.tion of detector. does not have a sensitivity high enough to pr.be a significant volume of the univer.e and, consequently, pr.dicted event r.tes ar. ver. low. The planned advanced gener.tion of inter.er.meter. will pr.bably be able to detect, for.the fir.t time, a gr.vitational sig- nal. Advanced LIGO and EGO instr.ments ar. expected to detect few （some）： binar. coalescences consisting of either.two neutr.n star., two black holes or.a neutr.n star.and a black hole. In space, the sensitivity of the planned LISA spacecr.ft constellation will allow the detection of the gr.vitational signals, even within a ＂pessimistic＂ r.nge of possible signals, pr.duced dur.ng the captur. of compact objects by super.assive black holes, at a r.te of a few tens per.year.

Magnetic tunnel junctions(MTJs) based on MgO bar.ier.have been fabr.cated by sputter.ng single cr.stal MgO tar.et and metal Mg tar.et, r.spectively, using magnetic sputter.ng system Nor.iko 2000. MgO bar.ier. have been for.ed by a multi-step deposition and natur.l oxidization of Mg layer. Mg layer.thickness,oxygen flow r.te and oxidization time wer. adjusted and the tunnel magnetor.sistance(TMr. r.tio of optimal MTJs is over.60% at annealing temper.tur. 385. The(001) MgO cr.stal str.ctur. was obtained when the separ.tion distance between MgO tar.et and substr.te is less than 6 cm. The TMr.r.tio of most MgO based MTJs ar. over.100% at the separ.tion distance of 5 cm and annealing temper.tur. 340. The TMr.r.tios of MTJs ar. almost zer. when the separ.tion distance r.nges fr.m 6 to 10 cm, due to the amor.hous natur. of the MgO film.
