Conventional chloromethylation, paraformaldehyde/hydrogen chloride in acetic acid medium, was applied to 1,2- dimethoxybenzene. Chloroform-soluble poly（3,4-dimethoxy-o-tolylene） was obtained with an intrinsic viscosity of 0.034 dl g^-1. The polymer was evaluated as a condensation redox polymer precursor formed by a Friedel-Crafts reaction. Cleavage of the methoxy groups present in this polymer resulted in poly（3,4-dihydroxy-o-tolylene） which manifested a great air-oxidation resistance. The redox property of the latter polymer was found to be 1017 mV by potentiometric titration with 0.05 N ceric ammonium nitrate at 25℃. This midpotential was compared to that of catechol, a monomeric analogue, under the same titration conditions.

Markov chains are extensively used in modeling different aspects of engineering and scientific systems, such as performance of algorithms and reliability of systems. Different techniques have been developed for analyzing Markovian models, for example, Markov Chain Monte Carlo based simulation, Markov Analyzer, and more recently probabilistic model- checking. however, these techniques either do not guarantee accurate analysis or are not scalable. higher-order-logic theorem proving is a formal method that has the ability to overcome the above mentioned limitations. however, it is not mature enough to handle all sorts of Markovian models. In this paper, we propose a formalization of Discrete-Time Markov Chain （DTMC） that facilitates formal reasoning about time-homogeneous finite-state discrete-time Markov chain. In particular, we provide a formal verification on some of its important properties, such as joint probabilities, Chapman-Kolmogorov equation, reversibility property, using higher-order logic. To demonstrate the usefulness of our work, we analyze two applications： a simplified binary communication channel and the Automatic Mail Quality Measurement protocol.

This paper investigates the exponential stability of traveling wave solutions for nonlinear delayed cellular neural *** a continuity of the past work(Wu and Niu,2016;Yu,et al.,2011)on the existence and uniqueness of the traveling wave solutions,it is very reasonable and interesting to consider the exponential stability of the traveling wave *** the weighted energy method,comparison principle and the first integral mean value theorem,this paper proves that,for all monotone traveling waves with the wave speed cc2*>0,the solutions converge time-exponentially to the corresponding traveling waves,when the initial perturbations decay at some fields.

We propose an adaptive stencil construction for high-order accurate finite volume schemes a posteriori stabilized devoted to solve one-dimensional steady-state hyperbolic *** accuracy(up to the sixth-order presently)is achieved,thanks to polynomial recon-structions while stability is provided with an a posteriori MOOD method which controls the cell polynomial degree for eliminating non-physical oscillations in the vicinity of *** supplemented this scheme with a stencil construction allowing to reduce even further the numerical *** stencil is shifted away from troubles(shocks,discontinuities,etc.)leading to less oscillating polynomial *** on linear,Burgers',and Euler equations,we demonstrate that the adaptive stencil technique manages to retrieve smooth solutions with optimal order of accuracy but also irregular ones without spurious ***,we numerically show that the approach allows to reduce the dissipation still maintaining the essentially non-oscillatory behavior.

Isolation and characterization of facultative mixotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria from constructed wetlands

Autotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria （AOB） have been widely studied in constructed wetlands systems, while mixotrophic AOB have been less thoroughly examined. heterotrophic bacteria were isolated from wastewater and rhizospheres of macrophytes of constructed wetlands, and then cultivated in a mixotrophic medium containing ammonium and acetic acid. A molecular characterization was accomplished using ITS-PCR amplification, and phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene Sequences. results showed the presence of 35 bacteria, among 400 initially heterotrophic isolates, that were able to remove ammonia. These 35 isolates were classified into 10 genetically different groups based on ITS pattern. Then, a collection of 10 isolates were selected because of their relatively high ammonia removal efficiencies （Are≥ 80%） and their phylogenetic diversity. In conditions of mixotrophy, these strains were shown to be able to grow （increase of optical density OD660 during incubation with assimilation of nitrogen into cellular biomass） and to oxidize ammonia （important ammonia oxidation efficiencies, AOE between 79% and 87%）. Among these facultative mixotrophic AOB, four isolates were genetically related to Firmicutes （Bacillus and Exiguobacterium）, three isolates were affiliated to Actinobacteria （Arthrobacter） and three other isolates were associated with Proteobacteria （Pseudomonas, Ochrobactrum and Bordetella）.

Background: The degree of adipose tissue development at birth may influence neonatal survival and subsequent health outcomes. Despite their lower birth weights, piglets from Meishan sows(a fat breed with excellent maternal ability) have a higher survival rate than piglets from large White sows(a lean breed). To identify the main pathways involved in subcutaneous adipose tissue maturation during the last month of gestation, we compared the proteome and the expression levels of some genes at d 90 and d 110 of gestation in purebred and crossbred large White or Meishan fetuses gestated by sows of either ***: A total of 52 proteins in fetal subcutaneous adipose tissue were identified as differential y expressed over the course of gestation. Many proteins involved in energy metabolism were more abundant, whereas some proteins participating in cytoskeleton organization were reduced in abundance on d 110 compared with d 90. Irrespective of age,24 proteins differed in abundance between fetal genotypes, and an interaction effect between fetal age and genotype was observed for 13 proteins. The abundance levels of proteins known to be responsive to nutrient levels such as aldolase and fatty acid binding proteins, as wel as the expression levels of FASN, a key lipogenic enzyme, and MlXIPl, a pivotal transcriptional mediator of glucose-related stimulation of lipogenic genes, were elevated in the adipose tissue of pure and crossbred fetuses from Meishan sows. These data suggested that the adipose tissue of these fetuses had superior metabolic functionality, whatever their paternal genes. Conversely, proteins participating in redox homeostasis and apoptotic cel clearance had a lower abundance in Meishan than in large White fetuses. Time-course differences in adipose tissue protein abundance were revealed between fetal genotypes for a few secreted proteins participating in responses to organic substances, such as alpha-2-hS-glycoprotein, transferrin and ***

This article discusses the perception of ecosystem services for French and Brazilian pond fish farming. Its aim is to study the extent to which the industry and its stakeholders are aware of the existence of such services in order to be able to prioritize them with respect to social well-being. This identification phase is seldom discussed. It requires that survey questionnaires be designed so as to improve understanding of these perceptions. The surveys undertaken combined both open questions where the interviewees expressed their perceptions spontaneously and closed questions where they were invited to rank a pre-established list of the relevant services. These surveys involved 133 fish farmers and 93 stakeholders. The results show that perceptions differ by question type, and confirm the significance of the questionnaire design and the importance of combining several kinds of approach.
