During the last decade,the generation and accumulation of petabase-scale high-throughput sequencing data have resulted in great challenges,including access to human data,as well as transfer,storage,and sharing of enormous amounts of *** promote data-driven biological research,the Korean government announced that all biological data generated from government-funded research projects should be deposited at the Korea BioData Station(K-BDS),which consists of multiple databases for individual data ***,we introduce the Korean Nucleotide Archive(KoNA),a repository of nucleotide sequence *** of July 2022,the Korean Read Archive in KoNA has collected over 477 TB of raw next-generation sequencing data from national genome *** ensure data quality and prepare for international alignment,a standard operating procedure was adopted,which is similar to that of the International Nucleotide Sequence Database *** standard operating procedure includes quality control processes for submitted data and metadata using an automated pipeline,followed by manual *** ensure fast and stable data transfer,a high-speed transmission system called GBox is used in ***,the data uploaded to or downloaded from KoNA through GBox can be readily processed using a cloud computing service called *** seamless coupling of KoNA,GBox,and Bio-Express enhances the data experience,including submission,access,and analysis of raw nucleotide *** not only satisfies the unmet needs for a national sequence repository in Korea but also provides datasets to researchers globally and contributes to advances in *** KoNA is available at https://***/kona/.

Subterranean termites construct complex tunnel networks for foraging. During travel in the tunnels, termites often encounter one another when passing in opposite directions. Such encounters are likely to affect the ＂movement efficiency,＂ which is the time required for a termite to travel a certain distance in a tunnel. In this study, we explored how individual-individual encounters affect movement efficiency in tunnels by measuring the time （v） taken by two termites to pass one another in tunnels of different curvatures. Artificial tunnels of 5 cm in length and variable widths （W） of 2, 3, or 4 mm were made. Tunnel distance （D） was 2, 3, 4, or 5 cm. When D had a higher value, curvature was lower. When W = 2, T was significantly shorter in the tunnel with D = 5 than in tunnels ofD = 2, 3, or 4, whereas v was statistically the same for D = 2, 3 and 4. When W = 3, r was shorter in the tunnel with D = 5 than for D = 3 and 4, while ~ was longer in the tunnel with D = 2 than for D = 3 and 4. When W = 4, r was longer in the tunnels with D = 2 and 3 than for D = 4 and 5. Based on these observations, 3 types of termite behavior were identified： biased walking, backward walking, and zigzag walking. We considered these results in relation to foraging efficiency.

Glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored sperm hyaluronidases have long been believed to assist in sperm penetration through the cumulus-oocyte complex(COC);however,their role in mammalian fertilization remains ***,we have shown that hyaluronidase 5(Hyal5)/Hyal7 double-knockout(dKO)mice produce significantly fewer offspring than their wild-type(WT)counterparts because of defective COC *** infertility is mainly caused by a low sperm *** can be further exacerbated by the deficiency of sperm hyaluronidase,which disperses the cumulus cells of the outer layer of the *** the current study,we evaluated the effects of a low count of Hyal-deficient sperm and conditions of ovulated oocytes on the fertilization rate using a mouse *** results demonstrated that a low sperm count further decreases the in vitro fertilization(IVF)rate of Hyal-deficient dKO *** addition,the dKO spermatozoa resulted in a fertilization rate of 12.5%upon fertilizing COCs with a thick cumulus layer,whereas the IVF rate was comparable to that of WT spermatozoa when oocytes with a thin or no cumulus layer were ***,we proved that the IVF rate of dKO spermatozoa could be recovered by adding rat spermatozoa as a source of sperm *** results suggest that a deficiency of proteins involved in fertilization,such as sperm hyal,has a vital role in fertilization.

For real parameters αand β such that 0≤α 〈 1 〈β, we denote by S（α,β） the class of normalized analytic functions which satisfy the following two-sided inequality：where U denotes the open unit disk. We find a sufficient condition for functions to be in the class S（α,β） and solve several radius problems related to other well-known function classes.

Microalgae have piqued renewed interest as a sustainable biofuel feedstock owing to their high CO_(2)conversion ***,the major limitation of microalga-based biofuel production is low *** this study,CO_(2)in flue gas emitted from the coal-fired power plants was fixed through mass microalgal cultivation using only sunlight as an energy *** minimize the cost and energy required to supply the flue gas and efficiently utilize the microalgal biomass,a polycarbonate(PC)greenhouse and polymeric photobioreactors were installed near the power plant *** different microalgal strains(Chlamydomonas reinhardtii,Chlorella sorokiniana,Neochloris oleoabundans,and Neochloris oleoabundans#13)were subjected to semi-continuous culturing for 1 *** maximum biomass productivity was achieved by the ***-dans#13 strain(0.703 g L^(−1)day^(−1)).Additionally,polymerase chain reaction analysis revealed that the individual microalgal culture was not cross-contaminated with other microalgal cultures in this cultivation system,owing to the structural proper-ties of photobioreactor comprising individual *** lipid content and calorific productivity of ***#13 biomass were 45.70%and 3.553 kJ L^(−1)day^(−1),respectively,which indicate satisfactory performance of biomass as a direct combustion *** CO_(2)fixation rate,which was calculated based on the carbon content in the biomass,was 0.309 g CO_(2)L^(−1)day^(−1).Therefore,large amounts of CO_(2)can be reduced using the large-scale microalgal cultivation system,which enables efficient biological CO_(2)conversion and maximizes microalgal biomass utilization.

Three pumpkin species Cucurbita maxima,***,and *** are commonly cultivated *** identify genome-wide SNPs in these cultivated pumpkin species,we collected 48 F1 cultivars consisting of 40 intraspecific hybrids(15 ***,18 ***,and 7 ***)and 8 interspecific hybrids(*** x ***).Genotyping by sequencing identified a total of 37,869 confident SNPs in this *** SNPs were filtered to generate a subset of 400 SNPs based on polymorphism and genome *** the 400 SNPs,288 were used to genotype an additional 188 accessions(94 F1 cultivars,50 breeding lines,and 44 landraces)with a SNP array-based *** polymorphisms were observed in 224 SNPs(78.0%)and were used to assess genetic variations between and within the four predefined populations in 223 cultivated pumpkin *** principal component analysis and UPGMA clustering found four major clusters representing three pumpkin species and interspecific *** genetic differentiation was supported by pairwise Fst and Nei’s genetic *** interspecific hybrids showed a higher level of genetic diversity relative to the other three *** the 224 SNPs,five subsets of 192,96,48,24,and 12 markers were evaluated for variety *** 192,96,and 48 marker sets identified 204(91.5%),190(85.2%),and 141(63.2%)of the 223 accessions,respectively,while other subsets showed<25%of variety identification *** SNP markers provide a molecular tool with many applications for genetics and breeding in cultivated pumpkin.

For real numbers α and β such that 0≤α<1<β, we denote by T(α,β) the class of normalized analytic functions which satisfy , where U denotes the open unit disk. We find some relationships involving functions in the class T(α,β). And we estimate the bounds of coefficients and solve Fekete-Szego problem for functions in this class. Furthermore, we investigate the bounds of initial coefficients of inverse functions or bi-univalent functions.

In the present paper, we introduce a class of analytic functions in the open unit disc by using the analytic function qα(z)=3/(3+(α-3)z-αz2), which was investigated by Sokó? [1]. We find some properties including the growth theorem or the coefficient problem of this class and we find some relation with this new class and the class of convex functions.
