In this article,we review the recent progress and our research activity on the synthesis of inorganic shell nanostructures to enhance the catalytic performance and stability of metal nanoparticles in catalytic ***,we introduce general synthetic strategies for the fabrication of inorganic nanoscale shell layers,including template-assisted sol-gel coating,hydrothermal(or solvothermal)synthesis and the self-templating *** also discuss recent examples of metal nanoparticles(NPs)with nanoscale shell layers,namely core-shell,yolk-shell and multiple NPs-embedded nanoscale *** then discuss the performance and stability of metal particles in practical catalytic ***,we conclude with a summary and perspective on the further progress of inorganic nanostructure with nanoscale shell layers for catalytic applications.

New morphologic information permits systematic revision of trilobites from the Middle Ordovician Klimoli Formation of the Zhuozishan area, Ordos Basin, Inner Mongolia. The new assemblage is composed of 10 species of the Raphiophoridae, Nileidae, Asaphidae, and Telephinidae.？ An asaphid, aff. Mioptychopyge lashachungensis （previously Paraptychopyge lashachungensis） displays an intermediate morphology between the Chinese nobiliasaphine genera Mioptychopyge and Zhenganites. The pygidial doublure is regarded as the most significant character to differentiate Symphysurus klimoliensis （previously Nileus klimoliensis） of the Nileidae from such closely allied taxa as Poronileus. A nileid, cf. Peraspis kujandensis displays typical nileid morphology, unlike the type species, Peraspis lineolata, which might turn out to be an asaphid. Ampyx gongwusuensis sp. nov. of the Raphiophoridae is the first record of the genus in the Zhuozishan area and reveals morphologic details that might be employed to resolve Ampyx taxonomy in China. Morphologic differences between A. gongwusuensis and Abulbaspis ordosensis might represent a case of sexual dimorphism.

Development of EMC-based empirical model for estimating spatial distribution of pollutant loads and its application in rural areas of Korea

An integrated approach to easily calculate pollutant loads from agricultural watersheds is suggested and verified in this research. The basic concepts of this empirical tool were based on the assumption that variations in event mean concentrations（EMCs） of pollutants from a given agricultural watershed during rainstorms were only attributable to the rainfall *** one sets of EMC values were obtained from nine different watersheds located in the rural areas of Korea, and these data were used to develop predictive tools for the EMCs in rainfall runoff. The results of statistical tests of these formulas show that they are fairly good in predicting actual EMC values of some parameters, and useful in terms of calculating pollutant loads for any rainfall event time span such as daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. This model was further checked in for its field applicability in a reservoir receiving stormwater after a cleanup of the sediments, covering 17 consecutive rainfall events from 1 July to 15 August in2007. Overall the predicted values matched the observed values, indicating the feasibility of this empirical tool as a simple and useful solution in evaluating timely distribution of nonpoint source pollution loads from small rural watersheds of Korea.

Supercritical water oxidation （SCWO） has been drawing much attention due to effectively destroy a large variety of high-risk wastes resulting from munitions demilitarization and complex industrial chemical. An important design consideration in the development of supercritical water oxidation is the information of decomposition rate. In this paper, the decomposition rate of dimethyl methylphosphonate（DMMP）, which is similar to the nerve agent VX and GB（Sarin） in its structure, was investigated under SCWO conditions. The experiments were performed in an isothermal tubular reactor with a H2O2 as an oxidant. The reaction temperatures were ranged from 398 to 633℃ at a fixed pressure of 24 MPa. The conversion of DMMP was monitored by analyzing total organic carbon （TOC） on the liquid effluent samples. It is found that the oxidative decomposition of DMMP proceeded rapidly and a high TOC decomposition up to 99.99% was obtained within 11 s at 555℃. On the basis of data derived from experiments, a global kinetic equation for the decomposition of DMMP was developed. The model predictions agreed well with the experimental data.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is a fatal neurodegenerative disease that causes paralysis and respiratory failure(Petrov et al.,2017).The driving mechanisms are unknown,and there are no effective treatments(Petrov et al.,2017).Aging and a few gene mutations,a common one being missense mutations in superoxide dismutase-1(SOD1),are risk factors for ALS(Figure 1).The recent Food and Drug Administration approval of edaravone for the treatment of ALS putatively supports a role for oxidative and nitrative stresses in the disease processes(Figure 1A).DNA damage,abnormalities in DNA repair,and other nuclear abnormalities are implicated also in the pathogenesis of human ALS(Bradley and Krasin,1982;Kim et al.,2020).

This study proposes a process to obtain an optimal helicopter rotor blade shape for aerodynamic performance in hover flight. A new geometry representation algorithm which uses the class function/shape function transformation （CST） is employed to generate airfoil coordinates. With this approach, airfoil shape is considered in terms of design variables. The optimization process is constructed by integrating several programs developed by author. The design variables include twist, taper ratio, point of taper initiation, blade root chord, and coefficients of the airfoil distribution function. Aerodynamic constraints consist of limits on power available in hover and forward flight. The trim condition must be attainable. This paper considers rotor blade configuration for the hover flight condition only, so that the required power in hover is chosen as the objective function of the optimization problem. Sensitivity analysis of each design variable shows that airfoil shape has an important role in rotor performance. The optimum rotor blade reduces the required hover power by 7.4% and increases the figure of merit by 6.5%, which is a good improvement for rotor blade design.

Objective： To investigate the characteristics of recurrences that occurred 5 or more years after curative resection for gastric ***： We analyzed recurrences among 1,299 patients with gastric cancer who underwent curative operations at the Department of Surgery, Inje University Seoul Paik Hospital between September 1998 and December 2002. Recurrences were classified as within 2 years （early）, 2-5 years （intermediate）, and more than 5 years （late） after gastrectomy. The clinicopathologic findings of the patients with late recurrence were compared with those of patients in the other two recurrence groups, with special reference to the patterns of recurrence. Both univariate and multivariate analyses were performed, incorporating factors such as operation type, T-stage, N-stage, stage, lymphatic invasion, neural invasion, histology, tumor size, and recurrence ***： At the time of last follow-up, recurrence occurred in 266 （20.5%） patients. Recurrence times were classified as 〈2 years （182 patients）, 2-5 years （61 patients）, or 〉5 years （23 patients）. The late recurrence rate was 8.6%. The occurrence of recurrence 〉5 years after gastrectomy was significantly correlated with age, operation type, T-stage, N-stage, stage, lymphatic invasion, neural invasion, histology, tumor size, location and recurrence site （P〈0.05）. The main recurrence patterns in the 23 patients with late recurrence were locoregional metastasis （10 patients, 43.5%）, peritoneal seeding （8 patients, 34.8%）, hematogenous metastasis （2 patients, 8.7%）, and multiple metastasis （3 patients, 13.0%）. A multivariate analysis showed that larger tumor size and younger age were independent prognostic factors for late recurrence. Additionally, locoregional and peritoneal recurrences were significantly more common than hematogenous recurrences. Conclusions： Although late recurrence was uncommon, younger age and larger tumor size were associated with high risk. Follow-up surveillance is recommended

Host-associated probiotics(HAPs)are bacteria originally isolated from rearing water or the host's gastrointestinal tract in order to enhance the host's growth and *** study investigated the HAP potential of Bacillus ***8313,isolated from wild red sea bream(Pagrus major),through characterization and feeding *** based on in vitro tests showed that PM8313 is safe,confirming its hemolytic,cytotoxic,and antibiotic *** addition,PM8313 showed advantages as a probiotic with high viability in the gastrointestinal model and a high cell adhesion ***-genome sequencing demonstrated that PM8313 has a 4,615,871 bp single circular chromosome and a guaninecytosine content of 45.25%.It also showed the absence of genes encoding virulence factors,such as cytotoxin,enterotoxin,hemolysin,sphingomyelinase,and *** the feeding trial,a supplemental diet of 1×10^(8)CFU/g PM8313 positively altered the weight gain,digestive enzyme activity,and intestinal microbiota composition of red sea *** of nonspecific immune parameters and immune-related gene expression,and a challenge test showed that PM8313 supplementation increases immunity and pathogenic bacteria *** findings suggest that PM8313 should be considered for application as a novel HAP to red sea bream aquaculture.
