Unconsolidated siliciclastic sediments can undergo post-burial deformation, which leads to the formation of distinctive sedimentary structures, known as soft-sediment deformation structures(SSDS). The presence of a series of sand volcanoes confined to a particular lithostratigraphic horizon can represent a paleoseismic activity and, thereby, exemplifies the concept of “seismite”. The Kutch Basin has been a tectonically active region since the initiation of eastern Gondwana rifting followed by a tectonic inversion during the Cenozoic due to the collision of the Indian and Eurasian plates. A stratum-bound series of sand volcanoes belonging to the Khari Nadi Formation(KNF) is exposed along the banks of Khari River. They separate the shallow marine deposits below and non-marine deposits above with their characteristic marine and paleosol trace fossil suites, respectively. Although a seismogenic origin has been much debated for the SSDS,the ichnofabric analysis of the sand-volcano-bearing stratum unequivocally points toward such an origin under a shallow seafloor condition. In addition to the sedimentary regime change from an open shallow-marine setting to a continental depositional environment concomitant with basinal uplift, the behavior of the burrowing crustaceans testifies to a syn-depositional development of a fault network associated with the fluidization, sand volcanism, and the resilience of the trace-producers in surviving those processes until the sedimentary regime change in the overlying strata. Although the ichno-sedimentological evidence apparently differs from the previous works that proposed a continuous base-level rise from the beginning of deposition of the Khari Nadi Formation up to the middle part of the overlying Chhasra Formation, the paleoseismic activity,its ichnologic signature, and the depositional regime change refer to a higher-resolution(i.e., lower-order)sequence-stratigraphic change causing a short-duration regression within a longer-durat

Tauopathies are a group of neurological disorders,including Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia,which involve progressive neurodegeneration,cognitive deficits,and aberrant tau protein *** development of tauopathies cannot currently be stopped or slowed down by treatment *** the significant contribution of tau burden in primary tauopathies and the strong association between pathogenic tau accumulation and cognitive deficits,there has been a lot of interest in creating therapies that can alleviate tau pathology and render neuroprotective ***,small molecules,immunotherapies,and gene therapy have been used to reduce the pathological tau burden and prevent neurodegeneration in animal models of ***,the major pitfall of the current therapeutic approach is the difficulty of drugs and gene-targeting modalities to cross the blood-brain barrier and their unintended side *** this review,the current therapeutic strategies used for tauopathies including the use of oligonucleotide-based gene therapy approaches that have shown a promising result for the treatment of tauopathies and Alzheimer’s disease in preclinical animal models,have been discussed.

AIM:To describe the gonioscopic profile and intraocular pressure(IOP)in primary angle-closure(PAC)disease in patients presenting to a tertiary eye care network in ***:A cross-sectional hospital-based study that included 31484 new patients presenting between 2011 and *** with a clinical diagnosis of PAC/suspect/glaucoma were *** data was collected from an electronic medical record ***:PAC glaucoma(PACG)(47.55%)was the most common diagnosis followed by PAC(39.49%)and PAC suspect(PACS;12.96%).Female preponderance(54.6%)was noted with higher mean age at presentation among males(P<0.0001).PACS and PAC showed the highest prevalence in 6th decade but PACG was higher at 7th *** probability of angle opening was 95.93%,90.32%and 63.36%in PACS,PAC and PACG eyes respectively post peripheral iridotomy(PI).Plateau iris syndrome(PIS)was noted in 252 eyes and all showed post dilated rise of IOP.A post dilated IOP rise was also noted with 8.86%,33.95%and 57.19%eyes with PACS,PAC and PACG respectively with IOP rise between 6-8 mm Hg across the disease ***:The superior quadrant is the narrowest angle and difficult to open with indentation and post *** probability of angle opening is less in PIS especially the complete variety along with post dilated IOP *** post dilated IOP rise in angle closure eyes warrants a careful dilatation,especially with PIS.

Machine fault diagnostics are essential for industrial operations,and advancements in machine learning have significantly advanced these systems by providing accurate predictions and expedited *** learning models,especially those utilizing complex algorithms like deep learning,have demonstrated major potential in extracting important information fromlarge operational *** their efficiency,machine learningmodels face challenges,making Explainable AI(XAI)crucial for improving their understandability and *** importance of feature contribution and selection using XAI in the diagnosis of machine faults is examined in this *** technique is applied to evaluate different machine-learning *** Gradient Boosting,Support Vector Machine,Gaussian Naive Bayes,and Random Forest classifiers are used alongside Logistic Regression(LR)as a baseline model because their efficacy and simplicity are evaluated thoroughly with empirical *** XAI is used as a targeted feature selection technique to select among 29 features of the time and frequency *** XAI approach is lightweight,trained with only targeted features,and achieved similar results as the traditional *** accuracy without XAI on baseline LR is 79.57%,whereas the approach with XAI on LR is 80.28%.
