Optogenetics allows for optical manipulation of neuronal activity and has been increasingly combined with intracellular and extracellular electrophysiological ***-identified classes of neurons are optically manipulated,though the versatility of optogenetics would be increased if independent control of distinct neural populations could be achieved on a sufficient spatial and temporal *** report a scalable multisite optoelectrode design that allows simultaneous optogenetic control of two spatially intermingled neuronal populations in *** describe the design,fabrication,and assembly of low-noise,multisite/multicolor *** shank of the four-shank assembly is monolithically integrated with 8 recording sites and a dualcolor waveguide mixer with a 7×30μm cross-section,coupled to 405 nm and 635 nm injection laser diodes(ILDs)via gradient-index(GRIN)lenses to meet optical and thermal design *** better understand noise on the recording channels generated during diode-based activation,we developed a lumped-circuit modeling approach for EMI coupling mechanisms and used it to limit artifacts to amplitudes under 100μV upto an optical output power of 450μ*** implanted the packaged devices into the CA1 pyramidal layer of awake mice,expressing Channelrhodopsin-2 in pyramidal cells and ChrimsonR in paravalbumin-expressing interneurons,and achieved optical excitation of each cell type using sub-mW *** highlight the potential use of this technology for functional dissection of neural circuits.

Mapping the geography of editors-in-chief

Purpose:This study aims to explore the geography of editors-in-chief to demonstrate which countries exercise the highest-level decision-making in scholarly *** addition,the study seeks to investigate the potential relationships between the origin and nationality of academic publishers and the geography of ***/methodology/approach:The analysis involves 11,915 journals listed in Web of Science’s Social Sciences Citation Index(SSCI)and Science Citation Index Expanded(SCIE).These journals employ 15,795 scholars as *** geographical locations of the institutions the editors-in-chief are affiliated with were identified;then,the data were aggregated at the country ***:The results show that most editors-in-chief are located in countries of the Anglosphere,primarily the United States and the United *** addition,most academic publishers and professional organizations that publish academic journals were found to be based in the United States and the United kingdom,where most editors-in-chief are also *** limitations:The analysis involves journals indexed in the Web of Science’s SCIE/SSCI databases,which are demonstrably biased toward the English ***,the study only takes a snapshot of the geography of editors-in-chief for the year 2022,but it does not investigate *** implications:The study maps the highest-level decision-making in scholarly ***/value:The study explores and maps the geography of editors-in-chief by using a massive dataset.

Almost Everywhere Convergence of Fejér Means of L^1 Functions on Rarely Unbounded Vilenkin Groups

A highly celebrated problem in dyadic harmonic analysis is the pointwise convergence of the Fejér （or （C, 1）） means of functions on unbounded Vilenkin groups. There are several papers of the author of this paper concerning this. That is, we know the a.e. convergence σnf → f （n → ∞） for functions f ∈ L^p, where p 〉 1 （Journal of Approximation Theory, 101（1）, 1-36, （1999）） and also the a.e. convergence σMnf → f （n → ∞） for functions f ∈ L^1 （Journal of Approximation Theory, 124（1）, 25-43, （2003））. The aim of this paper is to prove the a.e. relation limn→∞ σnf = f for each integrable function f on any rarely unbounded Vilenkin group. The concept of the rarely unbounded Vilenkin group is discussed in the paper. Basically, it means that the generating sequence m may be an unbounded one, but its ＂big elements＂ are not ＂too dense＂.

Almost Everywhere Convergence of Sequences of Cesàro and Riesz Means of Integrable Functions with Respect to the Multidimensional Walsh System

The aim of this paper is to prove the *** of sequences of the Cesaro and Riesz means of the Walsh–Fourier series of d variable integrable *** is,let a=（a1,...,ad）：N→Nd（d∈P）such that aj（n＋1）≥δsupk≤n aj（k）（j=1,...,d,n∈N）for someδ〉0 and a1（＋∞）=···=ad（＋∞）=＋∞.Then,for each integrable function f∈L1（Id）,we have the *** for the Cesaro means limn→∞σαa（n）f=f and for the Riesz means limn→∞σα,γa（n）f=f for any 0〈αj≤1≤γj（j=1,...,d）.A straightforward consequence of our result is the so-called cone restricted *** of the multidimensional Cesaro and Riesz means of integrable functions,which was proved earlier by Weisz.

On the Divergence of N(?)rlund Logarithmic Means of Walsh-Fourier Series

It is well known in the literature that the logarithmic means 1/logn ^n-1∑k=1 Sk（f）/k of Walsh or trigonometric Fourier series converge a.e. to the function for each integrable function on the unit interval. This is not the case if we take the partial sums. In this paper we prove that the behavior of the so-called NSrlund logarithmic means 1/logn ^n-1∑k=1 Sk（f）/n-k is closer to the properties of partial sums in this point of view.

Convergence in L^p-norm of Fourier Series on the Complete Product of Quaternion Groups with Bounded Orders

A well-known result for Vilenkin systems is the fact that for all 1 〈 p 〈 oc the n-th partial sums of Fourier series of all functions in the space Lp converge to the function in LP-norm. This statement can not be generalized to any representative product system on the complete product of finite non-abelian groups, but even then it is true for the complete product of quaternion groups with bounded orders and monomial representative product system ordered in a specific way.

Pointwise Convergence of Cone-like Restricted Two-dimensional Fejér Means of Walsh-Fourier Series

For the two-dimensional Walsh system, Gat and Weisz proved the a.e. convergence of Fejer means σnf of integrable functions, where the set of indices is inside a positive cone around the identical function, that is, β^-1≤n1/n2 ≤β is provided with some fixed parameter ~ 〉 1. In this paper we generalize the result of Gat and Weisz. We not only generalize this theorem, but give a necessary and sufficient condition for cone-like sets in order to preserve this convergence property.

Role of Orvosi Hetilap in the development of Hungarian gastroenterology

AIM:To analyze the contribution of Orvosi Hetilap(Hungarian Medical Journal) to the field of ***:All issues of the journal between 1857 and 2008 and identified original articles and reviews dealing with gastroenterology were *** rate of publications,the thematic distribution and foreign sources of knowledge were *** dates that major achievements in gastroenterology were introduced in Hungary were compared to those dates in Western ***:A total of 4799 original/research articles on gastroenterology were published,which represents 11.1% of the total *** rankings showed that liver and biliary diseases represented 20.36% of the total,followed by gastric diseases(9.35%) and surgery(8.77%).A total of 268 foreign journals were reviewed:50.9% were German,30.4% English,12.1% French and only 6.6% were in other *** major achievements of gastroenterology were introduced with varying delays compared to Western ***:Orvosi Hetilap has made a large contribution to the development of Hungarian *** high proportion of gastroenterology studies underlines the importance of digestive diseases in public health.

Factors Influencing Cities’ Publishing Efficiency

Purpose:Recently,a vast number of scientific publications have been produced in cities in emerging *** has long been observed that the publication output of Beijing has exceeded that of any other city in the world,including such leading centres of science as Boston,New York,London,Paris,and *** have suggested that,instead of focusing on cities'total publication output,the quality of the output in terms of the number of highly cited papers should be ***,in the period from 2014 to 2016,Beijing produced as many highly cited papers as Boston,London,or New *** this paper,another method is proposed to measure cities'publishing performance by focusing on cities'publishing efficiency(i.e.,the ratio of highly cited articles to all articles produced in that city).Design/methodology/approach:First,554 cities are ranked based on their publishing efficiency,then some general factors influencing cities'publishing efficiency are *** general factors examined in this paper are as follows:the linguistic environment of cities,cities'economic development level,the location of excellent organisations,cities'international collaboration patterns,and their scientific field ***,the paper examines the fundamental differences between the general factors influencing the publishing efficiency of the top 100 most efficient cities and the bottom 100 least efficient ***:Based on the research results,the conclusion can be drawn that a city's publishing efficiency will be high if meets the following general conditions:it is in a country in the Anglosphere-Core;it is in a high-income country;it is home to top-ranked universities and/or world-renowned research institutions;researchers affiliated with that city most intensely collaborate with researchers affiliated with cities in the United States,Germany,England,France,Canada,Australia,and Italy;and the most productive scientific disciplines of highly cited articles are publi
