Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene （UHMWPE） is widely used for articulating surfaces in total hip and knee replacements. In the present work, UHMWPE based polymer composites were synthesized by synergistic reinforcing of bioactive hydroxyapatite （HA）, bioinert aluminum oxide （Al2O3）, and carbon nanotubes （CNTs） using compression molding. Phase and microstructural analysis suggests retention of UHMWPE and reinforcing phases in the compression molded composites. Microstructural analysis elicited variation in densification due to the size effect of the reinforcing particles. The hybrid composites exhibited hardness, elastic modulus and toughness comparable to that of UHMWPE. The interfacial effect of reinforcement phases has evinced the effectiveness of Al2O3 over HA and CNT reinforcements, depicting synergistic enhancement in hardness and elastic modulus. Weak interfacial bonding of polymer matrix with HA and CNT requires utilization of coupling agents to achieve enhanced mechanical properties without deteriorating cytocompatible properties.

In this paper, a mathematical model for Love wave propagation in a porous elastic layer under a rigid boundary resting over a poro-elastic half-space has been developed. The study shows that such a medium transmits two types of Love waves. The first front depends on the change in volume fraction of the pores whereas the second front depends upon the modulus of rigidity of the elastic matrix of the medium and is the same as the Love wave in an elastic layer over an elastic half-space. It is observed that the first front is many times faster than the shear wave in the medium with void pores due to the change in the volume fraction of the pores and is significant.

The COVID-19 disease has already spread to more than 213 countries and territories with infected(confirmed)cases of more than 27 million people throughout the world so far,while the numbers keep *** India,this deadly disease was first detected on January 30,2020,in a student of Kerala who returned from *** of India’s high population density,different cultures,and diversity,it is a good idea to have a separate analysis of each ***,this paper focuses on the comprehensive analysis of the effect of COVID-19 on Indian states and Union Territories and the development of a regression model to predict the number of discharge patients and deaths in each *** performance of the proposed prediction framework is determined by using three machine learning regression algorithms,namely Polynomial Regression(PR),Decision Tree Regression,and Random Forest(RF)*** results show a comparative analysis of the states and union territories having more than 1000 cases,and the trained model is validated by testing it on further *** performance is evaluated using the RMSE *** results show that the Polynomial Regression with an RMSE value of 0.08,shows the best performance in the prediction of the discharged *** contrast,in the case of prediction of deaths,Random Forest with a value of 0.14,shows a better performance than other techniques.

The propagation of a Bleustein-Gulyaev （B-G） type wave in a structure consisting of multiple layers and a half-space of porous piezoelectric materials is theoreti- cally studied. The solutions of the problem in terms of the mechanical displacements and electric potential functions are obtained for each layer and the half-space. The dispersion equation is obtained for electrically open and shorted boundary conditions by use of the transfer matrix method. A peculiar kind of B-G waves is investigated, which can propagate only in the layer over the half-space. The relationship between the piezoelectric constants and the dielectric constants is found for the existence of a peculiar kind of propagation modes. The numerical results in terms of the phase velocity and the electromechanical coupling factor with different thicknesses of the layer stack are presented.

In this paper, the variable-coefficient diffusion-advection （DA） equation, which arises in modeling various physical phenomena, is studied by the Lie symmetry approach. The similarity reductions are derived by determining the complete sets of point symmetries of this equation, and then exact and numerical solutions are reported for the reduced second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Further, an extended （Gl/G）-expansion method is applied to the DA equation to construct some new non-traveling wave solutions.

In Agriculture Sciences, detection of diseases is one of the mostchallenging tasks. The mis-interpretations of plant diseases often lead towrong pesticide selection, resulting in damage of crops. Hence, the automaticrecognition of the diseases at earlier stages is important as well as economicalfor better quality and quantity of fruits. Computer aided detection (CAD)has proven as a supportive tool for disease detection and classification, thusallowing the identification of diseases and reducing the rate of degradationof fruit quality. In this research work, a model based on convolutional neuralnetwork with 19 convolutional layers has been proposed for effective andaccurate classification of Marsonina Coronaria and Apple Scab diseases fromapple leaves. For this, a database of 50,000 images has been acquired bycollecting images of leaves from apple farms of Himachal Pradesh (H.P)and Uttarakhand (India). An augmentation technique has been performedon the dataset to increase the number of images for increasing the *** performance analysis of the proposed model has been compared with thenew two Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models having 8 and 9 layersrespectively. The proposed model has also been compared with the standardmachine learning classifiers like support vector machine, k-Nearest Neighbour, Random Forest and Logistic Regression models. From experimentalresults, it has been observed that the proposed model has outperformed theother CNN based models and machine learning models with an accuracy of99.2%.

Pandemic,being unprecedented,leads to several mental health problems,especially among the front-line healthcare workers(HCW).Front-line HCWs often suffer from anxiety,depression,burnout,insomnia and stress-related *** is mediated to a large extent by the biopsychological vulnerabilities of the individuals;socioenvironmental factors such as the risk of exposure to infection,effective risk communication to HCWs,availability of personal protective equipment,job-related stress,perceived stigma and psychological impact of the isolation/quarantine and interpersonal distancing also play the major *** the huge magnitude of mental health problems among the frontline HCWs,their psychological health is often *** of the potential measures to reduce the mental health problems of the front-line HCWs are effective communication,tangible support from the administration/seniors,mental health problem screening—and interventional—facilities,making quarantine/isolation less restrictive and ensuring interpersonal communication through the various digital platforms,proactively curtailing the misinformation/rumour spread by the media and strict legal measures against violence/ill treatment with the HCWs,and so ***,along with other countries who lately got affected by the COVID-19,must learn from the experiences of the other countries and also from the previous pandemics as to how to address the mental health needs of their front-line HCWs and ensure HCWs'mental well-being,thereby improving their *** review attempts to highlight the mental health aspects of the pandemic on the front-line HCWs,discusses some of the contentious issues and provides future directions particularly concerning COVID-19 in the Indian context and other low-resource countries.
