The uniqueness theorem and the theorem of reciprocity in the linearized porous piezoelectricity are established under the assumption of positive definiteness of elastic and electric fields. General theorems in the linear theory of porous piezoelectric materials are proved for the quasi-static electric field approximation. The uniqueness theorem is also proved without using the positive definiteness of the elastic field. An eigenvalue problem associated with free vibrations of a porous piezoelectric body is stud- ied using the abstract formulation. Some properties of operators are also proved. The problem of frequency shift due to small disturbances, based on an abstract formulation, is studied using a variational and operator approach. A perturbation analysis of a special ease is also given.

The effects of the stabilizing agent on the structural and luminescence properties of cadmium sulfide(CdS)nanocrystals have been *** were prepared by chemical precipitation method using sodium hexametaphosphate(SHMP)and polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP).The structural and optical properties have been studied by X-ray diffraction(XRD),ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)absorption,photoluminescence(PL)and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)*** patterns confirm the presence of cubic zinc blend crystal structure with space group *** results show the variation in crystallite size with change in *** shift in absorption edge as compared to bulk CdS is *** results represent broad and very intense red emission with smaller particle size due to modification of surface emitting states with surfactant.

We identified 67 and 21 NTFP-yielding plant and animal species, respectively, in a reserve forest in Cachar district of Assam. We recorded globally threatened species listed by IUCN as Critically Endangered （plant species Dipterocarpus turbinatus）, Vulnerable （plant species Aquillaria malaccensis）, Endangered （animal species Hoolock hoolock, Indotestudo elongata and Manis pentadactyla）, and Vulnerable （animal species Nilssonia hurum and Rusa unicolor）. The whole plant or animal and/or their various parts were used as food or medicine, in house construction, magico-religious activities and others. While some NTFPs were harvested throughout the year, others were harvested seasonally. A comprehensive NTFP policy, along with scientific measures for regen- eration, restoration and augmentation of NTFP-yielding plants and animals, would help in addressing the conflicting demands of conservation and livelihood in the forests of this area.

Tourmaline occurs as a minor but important mineral in the alteration zc,ne of the Archean orogenic gold deposit of Guddadarangavanahalli （***） in the Chitradurga greenst^ne belt of the western Dharwar craton, southern India. It occurs in the distal alteration halo of the *** golcl deposit as （a） clusters of very fine grained aggregates which form a minor constituent in the natrix of the altered metabasalt （AMB tourmaline） and （b） in quartz-carbonate veins （vein tourmaline）. ~[＇he vein tourmaline, based upon the association of specific carbonate minerals, is further grouped as （i） albite-tourmaline-ankerite-quartz veins （vein-1 tourmaline） and （ii） albite-tourmaline-calcite-quartz veins （vein-2 tourmaline）. Both the AMB tourmaline and the vein tourmalines （vein-I and vein-2） belong to the alkali group and are clas- sified under schorl-dravite series. Tourmalines occurring in the veins are zoned while the AMB tour- malines are unzoned. Mineral chemistry and discrimination diagrams 1eveal that cores and rims of the vein tourmalines are distinctly different. Core composition of the ve：n tourmalines is similar to the composition of the AMB tourmaline. The formation of the AMB tourmaline and cores of the vein tour- malines are proposed to be related to the regional D1 deformational event associated with the emplacement of the adjoining ca. 2.61 Ga Chitradurga granite whilst rims of the vein tourmalines vis-a- vis gold mineralization is spatially linked to the juvenile magmatic accretion （2.56-2.50 Ga） east of the studied area in the western part of the eastern Dharwar craton.

Survival of a company in today's competitive business environment depends mainly on its supply *** adequate supply chain gives a competitive edge to a ***,which is the initial stage of a supply chain,can be made efficient by making an appropriate selection of *** vendor selection results not only in reduced purchasing costs,decreased production lead time,increased customer satisfaction but also in improved corporate *** general,the vendor selection problem is a multi-objective decision-making problem that involves some quantitative and qualitative ***,we have considered a multi-objective ven-dor selection problem(MOV SP)with three multiple objective goals:minimization of net ordering price,minimization of rejected units and minimization of late delivered *** most of the cases,information about the price of a unit,percentage of rejected units,percentage of late delivered units,vendor rating value and vendor quota flexibil-ity may not be known precisely due to some *** this paper,imprecision in input information is handled by the concept of a simulation technique,where the parameter follows the uniform ***,stochastic,a-cut and ranking function approaches are used to get the crisp value of the simulated data *** four differ-ent algorithms,namely-fuzzy programming,goal programming,lexicographic goal programming and D1-distance algorithm,have been used for solving the *** last,three different types of simulated data sets have been used to illustrate the work.

Composition, diversity and distribution of tree species in response to changing soil properties with increasing distance from water source – a case study of Gobind Sagar Reservoir in India

Construction of big dams on rivers develops artificial lakes or water reservoirs which conceive alterations in soil properties of the upstream catchment area. An undulating topography and freckly soil properties cause ups and downs in tree diversity, composition and distribution. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of Gobind Sagar reservoir on soil properties relative to the distance from it and assess its effect on tree diversity, evenness and their distribution in tropical and subtropical forests. Based on data analysis it was found that the soil moisture and organic carbon decreased along with increasing distance from the reservoir. It played a significant role in varying tree diversity. The sites distributed within0-2 km showed significantly higher α and β-diversity indices. Tree species richness and diversity indices showed a strong correlation（p ＆lt; 0.05） with soil moisture and organic carbon content. Simpson＇s and Mc Intosh evenness indices showed a strong negative correlation with soil bulk density. Indirect Detrended Correspondence Analysis（DCA） identified soil moisture and soil organic carbon as two major environmental gradients that influenced tree diversity and their distribution in five tropical and four subtropical forests in an upstream catchment of the reservoir. Mixed forests inhabited moist sites andAcacia-Pinus forests showed an inclination to dry areas. Canonical Correspondence Analysis（CCA）revealed that the tree species in tropical forests were mainly affected by driving forces such as soil moisture,organic carbon and bulk density whereas, in subtropical forest tree species were influenced by elevation, soil p H, EC and clay content.

Dynamic voltage restorer （DVR） is used to protect sensitive loads from voltage disturbances of the distribution generation （DG） system. In this paper, a new control approach for the 200 kW solar photovoltaic grid connected system with perturb and observe maximum power point tracking （MPPT） technique is implemented. Power quality improvement with comparison is conducted during fault with proportional integral （PI） and artificial intelligence-based fuzzy logic controlled DVR. MPPT tracks the actual variable DC link voltage while deriving the maximum power from a photovoltaic array and maintains DC link voltage constant by changing modula- tion index of the converter. Simulation results during fault show that the fuzzy logic based DVR scheme demonstrates simultaneous exchange of active and reactive power with less total harmonic distortion （THD） present in voltage source converter （VSC） current and grid current with fast tracking of optimum operating point at unity power factor. Standards （IEEE-519/1547）, stipulates that the current with THD greater than 5% cannot be injected into the grid by any distributed generation source. Simulation results and validations of MPPT technique and operation of fuzzy logic controlled DVR demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control schemes.
