Rare earth elements(REEs)have been widely applied as efficient elicitors to improve production of biologically important secondary metabolites in ***,their effects on microbial secondary metabolites were seldom *** this study,lanthanum(LaCl3)was used as an elicitor in mycelium cultures of Shiraia bambusicola to stimulate the production of hypocrellin A(HA),a promising photosensitizer for anticancer photodynamic ***^3+at 1.0 g/L not only increases HA content by 2.50-fold in mycelia,but stimulates HA exudation to the medium with the highest production(225.05 mg/L)on day *** analysis shows that La^3+can induce the intracellular ROS(reactive oxygen species)accumulation with 2.33-fold higher contents of H2O2 in *** production induced by La^3+treatment can be suppressed by ROS *** analysis reveals that the elicitation of La^3+on HA accumulation is mediated by ROS generation to enhance expression of HA biosynthetical *** expression of ATP-binding cassette transporter gene(SbABC)for HA exudation is also regulated partially via ROS generated by NADPH *** results indicate that the enhanced HA production by La^3+might be mediated by ROS signaling *** results provide a basis for understanding REE elicitation on fungal metabolites and a practical biotechnological process for enhanced production of HA.

The accurate detection of cooperative targets plays a key and foundational role in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) landing autonomously. The standard method based on fixed threshold is too susceptible to both illumination variations and interference. To overcome issues above, a robust detection algorithm with triple constraints for cooperative targets based on spectral residual (TCSR) is proposed. Firstly, by designing an asymmetric cooperative target, which comprises red background, green H and triangle target, the captured original image is converted into a Lab color space, whose saliency map is yielded by constructing the spectral residual. Then, the triple constraints are developed according to the prior knowledge of the cooperative target. Finally, the salient region in saliency map is considered as the cooperative target, and it meets the triple constraints. Experimental results in complex environments show that the proposed TCSR outperforms the standard methods in higher detection accuracy and lower false alarm rate.

The development of efficient electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) is of importance for fuel cells and metal-air batteries. Herein, three-dimensional nitrogen and phosphorous co-doped graphene aerogel(NPgA) was prepared via the pyrolysis of polyaniline(PANi) coated graphene oxide aerogel synthesized by oxidative polymerization of aniline on graphene oxide(gO) sheets in the presence of phytic acid. The uniform coating of PANi thin layer on the surface of gO sheets enables the formation of highly porous composite aerogel of PANi and gO. The subsequent thermal treatment is able to prepare the porous NPgA due to the carbonization of PANi and phytic acid as nitrogen and phosphorous resources. When used as electrocatalysts,the as-prepared NPgA electrocatalysts exhibited good catalytic activity to ORR via an efficient four-electron pathway with good stability, benefiting from the highly porous structure and the heteroatom co-doping. More importantly, Zn-air batteries operated in ambient air have been fabricated by coupling a Zn plate with the NPgA electrocatalyst in an air electrode, demonstrating the maximal power density as high as ~260 W/g and a good long-term stability with slightly potential decay for over 450 h. The facile method for preparing efficient carbon based ORR electrocatalysts would generate other potential applications including fuel cells and others.

This work investigated the formation of carbonaceous and nitrogenous disinfection by-products （C-DBPs, N-DBPs） upon chlorination of water samples collected from a surface water and a ground water treatment plant （SWTP and gWTP） where the conventional treatment processes, i.e., coagulation, sedimentation, and filtration were employed. Twenty DBPs, including four trihalomethanes, nine haloacetic acids, seven N-DBPs （dichloroacetamide, trichloroacetamide, dichloroacetonitrile, trichloroacetonitrile, bromochloroace- tonitrile, dibromoacetonitrile and trichloronitromethane）, and eight volatile chlorinated compounds （dichloromethane （DCM）, 1,2-dichloroethane, tetrachloroethylene, chlorobenzene, 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,4-dichlorobenzene, 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene and 1,2,4- trichlorobenzene） were detected in the two WTPs. The concentrations of these contaminants were all below their corresponding maximum contamination levels （MCLs） regulated by the Standards for Drinking Water Quality of China （gB5749-2006） except for DCM （17.1 ~tg/L detected vs. 20 μg/L MCL）. The SWTP had much higher concentrations of DBPs detected in the treated water as well as the DBP formation potentials tested in the filtered water than the gWTP, probably because more precursors （e.g., dissolved organic carbon, dissolved organic nitrogen） were present in the water source of the SWTE

The adsorption behaviors of heavy metals onto novel low-cost adsorbent,red loess,were *** loess was characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared *** results indicated that red loess mainly consisted of silicate,ferric and aluminum *** pH,adsorbent dosage,initial metal concentration,contact time and temperature significantly influenced the efficiency of heavy metals *** adsorption reached equilibrium at 4 hr,and the experimental equilibrium data were fitted to Langmuir monolayer adsorption *** adsorption of Cu（II） and Zn（II） onto red loess was endothermic,while the adsorption of Pb（II） was *** maximum adsorption capacities of red loess for Pb（II）,Cu（II） and Zn（II） were estimated to be 113.6,34.2 and 17.5 mg/g,respectively at 25°C and pH *** maximum removal efficiencies were 100% for Pb（II） at pH 7,100% for Cu（II） at pH 8,and 80% for Zn（II） at pH *** used adsorbents were readily regenerated using dilute HCl solution,indicating that red loess has a high *** the above results demonstrated that red loess could be used as a possible alternative low-cost adsorbent for the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solution.

Primary bile acids were reported to augment secretion of chemokine(C-X-C motif)ligand16(CXCL16)from liver sinusoidal endothelial cells(LSECs)and trigger natural killer T(NKT)cellbased immunotherapy for liver ***,abundant expression of receptors for primary bile acids across the gastrointestinal tract overwhelms the possibility of using agonists against these receptors for liver cancer *** advantage of the intrinsic property of LSECs in capturing circulating nanoparticles in the circulation,we proposed a strategy using nanoemulsion-loaded obeticholic acid(OCA),a clinically approved selective farnesoid X receptor(FXR)agonist,for precisely manipulating LSECs for triggering NKT cell-mediated liver cancer *** OCA-nanoemulsion(OCA-NE)was prepared via ultrasonic emulsification method,with a diameter of 184 nm and good *** vivo biodistribution studies confirmed that the injected OCA-NE mainly accumulated in the liver and especially in LSECs and Kupffer *** a result,OCA-NE treatment significantly suppressed hepatic tumor growth in a murine orthotopic H22 tumor model,which performed much better than oral medication of free *** analysis revealed that the OCA-NE resulted in augmented secretion of CXCL16 and IFN-g,as well as increased NKT cell populations inside the ***,our research provides a new evidence for the antitumor effect of receptors for primary bile acids,and should inspire using nanotechnology for precisely manipulating LSECs for liver cancer therapy.

Binuclear aluminum alkyl complexes 2a–4g supported by linked bis（β-diketiminate） ligands were synthesized via the reaction of AlEt3 or AlMe3 and the corresponding proligand in a 2：1 molar ratio with moderate yields. The isolated complexes were well-characterized by ^1H-NMR, ^13C-NMR and elemental analysis. The binuclear nature of aluminum complex 2b was further confirmed by an X-ray diffraction study. All complexes 2a–4g could efficiently initiate the ring-opening polymerization（ROP） of ε-caprolactone in toluene. The substituents at the aromatic rings and the linker unit in the auxiliary ligands exerted significant influence on the catalytic behavior of the investigated aluminum complexes. Complex 4g（R^1 = R^2 = Cl） containing propylenyl bridging unit exhibited the highest catalytic activity among these complexes, which might be attributed to the increased electrophilicity of the metal center as well as more opened coordination sphere. The molecular weights of obtained poly（ε-caprolactone）s deviating considerably from the theoretical values indicated that the ROP of ε-caprolactone by complexes 2a–4g was not well-controlled, which was also judged from the broad molecular weight distributions（MWD = 1.47-2.47） of produced poly（ε-caprolactone）s. These complexes proved to be inactive toward the polymerization of rac-lactide alone. In the presence of alcohol the polymerization occurred, which was actually initiated by the decomposition species of the aluminum complex upon the treatment with isopropanol.

BACKgROUND： Studies have shown that both salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine can promote protein expression of nerve growth factor （NgF） and regeneration of peripheral nerve. OBJECTIVE： To verify the effect of salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine hydrochloride injection on axonal regeneration and NgF protein expression in a rat model of sciatic nerve injury. DESIgN, TIME AND SETTINg： A randomized, controlled, animal experiment was performed at the Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Institute of Bioengineering of Jinan University from July to December 2008. maTERIALS： Salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine hydrochloride injection （containing 20 mg salviae miJtiorrhizae and 100 mg ligustrazine per 100 mL injection） was provided by guizhou Baite Pharmaceutical, China; salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine decoctions （containing 1 g raw drug per 1 mL decoction） were provided by guangzhou Baiyunshan Factory for Traditional Chinese Medicine, China; rabbit-anti-rat NgF monoclonal antibody was provided by Beijing Biosynthesis Biotechnology, China. METHODS： A total of 80 healthy, male, Sprague Dawley rats were used to establish a sciatic nerve injury model via neurotomy, and were then randomly assigned to 4 groups： salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine hydrochloride injection group （intraperitoneal injection of 35 mL/kg per day salviae miltiorrhizae and ligustrazine hydrochloride injection）, saIviae miltiorrhizae group （intragastric peffusion of 2 mL salviae miltiorrhizae）, ligustrazine group （intragastric peffusion of 2 mL ligustrazine）, and model group （intraperitoneal injection of 35 mL/kg per day saline）, with 20 rats in each group. Pyrethroid esters are widely used as insecticides worldwide. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the harmful effect of deltamethrin on the male reproductive system through the assessment of reproductive hormones, inflammatorymarkers, and testicular function. To achieve our aim, eighty male 7-9-week-old, Wistar rats were taken, weighed, and divided into four experimental groups. The first group was kept as a control group, and the other three groups were given deltamethrin orally at different concentrations (0.87, 8.7, and 17.4 mg/kg body weight) for nine weeks. The resultsindicated that deltamethrin administration associated with a significant decrease in reproductive hormones, especially FSH, LH, and significant elevation in the interleukin 2 (IL2), interleukin 6 (IL6), histamine, and cortisol levels. Also, thesignificance of inhibition of sperm motility and viability, decreased testis weights, sperm count, and fructose in semen were noted. These findings clarify the harmful effect of deltamethrin on the male reproductive system by producing a significant alteration in reproductive hormones, inflammatory markers as well as testicular function.

In this article an attempt to determine the influence of mining factors on the seismic activity during the longwall mining of the upper layer of coal seam no.405/2 in one of the Polish hard coal mines in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin was *** longwall panels were mined in analogous geological conditions and based on the same mining system and ***,there was significant difference with regards to the mining factors,which was reflected in the observed seismic *** tools used in mining seismology were applied to illustrate the aforementioned influence of mining factors,*** frequency-energy distribution,the frequency-magnitude distribution,the 2 D distribution of released seismic energy,the relationship between released seismic energy and the volume of mined coal,the Benioff strain release,and the gutenberg-Richter(gR)b coefficient distribution(b is the proportion between high and low energy tremors).Concerning the Benioff strain release,a new solution,based on the slope of a fitted line in a moving time window,is proposed.
