Auxiliary ligand-induced assembly of atomically precise silver clusters

Establishing the correlation between inter-cluster assembly and auxiliary ligands at the atomic level is crucial for the development of metal cluster *** this work,we report the successful preparation and characterization of three Ag clusters,discrete 0-D Ag51S6Cl3（iPrS）21（TsO）15CH3CN(0-D Ag51,iPrS-=isopropanethiolate,TsO-=toluenesulfonate),1-D{Ag38S4-（iPrS）18（PhCOO）12}_n(1-D Ag38,PHCOO-=benzoate),and 2-D{Ag20（SO4）Cl2（iPrS）10（NO3）6}_n(2-D Ag20),using a delicate auxiliary-ligand-induced *** analyses reveal that the types of auxiliary ligands can readily affect the structure and dimensionality of resulting Ag *** addition of different surface auxiliary ligands from TsO-to PhCOO-and then to NO3-leads to the formation of 0-D Ag51to 1-D Ag38and then to 2-D Ag20clusters under otherwise identical reaction conditions,*** resulting Ag clusters exhibited structure-related optical/luminescence properties and distinct bathochromic shifts as revealed by the temperature-dependent luminescence and single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies.

A new ring-shaped 12-Ti-substituted poly(polyoxometalate)(poly(POM)),K_(10)H_(15)[{K_(2)Na(H_(2)O)_(3)}@{(Ti_(2)O)_(2)(Ti_(4)O_(4))_(2)(A-α-1,3,5-GeW_(9)O_(36))_(2)(A-α-2,3,4-GeW_(9)O_(36))_(2)}]·45H_(2)O(1),has been made under hydrothermal conditions,showing the highest number of Ti centers in Keggin-type poly(POM)family to *** obvious feature is that two types of novel chiral trivacant[GeW_(9)O_(36)]^(14-)(A-α-1,3,5-GeW_(9)O_(36)and A-α-2,3,4-GeW_(9)O_(36))segments have been first discovered in POM chemistry,and four[GeW_(9)O_(36)]^(14-)segments are alternately connected by two Ti_(2)O and two Ti_(4)O_(4)cores to form a ring-shaped poly(POM),in which two types of linking modes,Ti_(2)O and Ti_(4)O_(4)bridging cores,are observed for the first time in *** transformation of achiral precursors into chiral POM segments is of great significance for the POM synthetic ***,1 as a heterogeneous catalyst can effectively catalyze the oxidation of various thioethers and mustard gas simulant 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide(CEES).

The synergistic effect of trivacant B-α-Ge W_(9)O_(34)fragments as structure-directing agents and inorganic B-O segments as intramolecular decoration afforded an unprecedented 28-Ni-added huge cluster K_(2)Na_(14)H_(10)[{Ni_(6)(OH)_(3)(H_(2)O)_(6)(Ge W_(9)O_(34))}{Ni_(8)-(μ_(6)-O)(OH)_(3)(H_(2)O)(BO(OH)_(2))(B_(2)O_(3)(OH)_(2))(Ge W_(9)O_(34))_(2)}]_(2)·46H_(2)O(1)under hydrothermal *** polyoxoanion of 1contains two half-units,[{Ni_(6)(OH)_(3)(H_(2)O)_(6)(Ge W_(9)O_(34))}{Ni_(8)(μ_(6)-O)(OH)_(3)(H_(2)O)(BO(OH)_(2))(B_(2)O_(3)(OH)_(2))(Ge W_(9)O_(34))_(2)}]^(13-),which joined together via Ni-O=W *** most fascinating feature is that each half-unit can be regarded as the fusion of an Ni_(6)(OH)_(3)(H_(2)O)_(6)(B-α-Ge W_(9)O_(34))({Ni_6Ge W_(9)})and a previously unobserved sandwiched Ni_(8)(μ_(6)-O)(OH)_(3)(H_(2)O)(BO(OH)_(2))(B_(2)O_(3)-(OH)_(2))(B-α-Ge W_(9)O_(34))_(2)({(Ni_(8)BB_(2))@(Ge W_(9))_(2)}),in which the{Ni_(8)BB_(2)}cluster contains a Lindqvist-type{Ni_(6)}core capped by two Ni O_(6)octahedra and further decorated by a BO(OH)_(2)({B})group and a binuclear B_(2)O_(3)(OH)_(2)({B_(2)})***,1 as a heterogeneous catalyst,has good catalytic activity for Knoevenagel condensation under mild reaction conditions.

Photocatalytic olefin oxidation using air as an oxidant is an environmentally friendly method for producing epoxides. Covalent organic frameworks(COFs) have emerged as promising photocatalysts in various organic synthesis reactions. The combination of tri-(2-pyridinal aldehyde)-containing precursor with 4,4’,4’’-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)trianiline generated(N^N)-I-COF. Via imine-to-quinoline transformation and coordination anchorage of Ru(N^N)_(3)unit, Ru(N^N)_(3)@Q-COF was obtained with improved chemical stability, skeleton conjugation, and novel photochemical characteristics, and demonstrated excellent photocatalytic activity in olefin epoxidation with a wide range of substrates. The presence of H_(2)O played a crucial role in the formation of reactive oxygen species(ROSs), which in turn influenced the olefin oxidation process. The hydrophilicity of Ru(N^N)_(3) facilitated the approach of H_(2)O and O_(2) to the photogenerated charges, thereby promoting ROSs generation. The lipophilicity of Q-COF allowed for the absorption of olefin substrates, and its nano-channels increased encountering possibility between olefins and ROSs. Consequently, Ru(N^N)_(3)@Q-COF provided an intriguing platform for olefin photooxidation and could be recycled multiple times without any degradation in performance. This report revealed that the conversion of classical ROSs into less potent oxidants with rapid kinetic rates played a crucial role in achieving highly efficient and selective epoxidation of terminal olefins.

Three pentaborates were made by precise structural regulations under hydrothermal conditions,namely,K_(2)Cs-[B_(5)O_(8)(OH)]·0.5CO_(3)(1),KNa_(4)Cs[B_(5)O_(8)(OH)]_(2)·2OH(2),and NaBa[B_(5)O_(8.5)(OH)](3).Compound 1 features the typical 2D layers constructed from the four-connected B_(5)O_(10)(OH)*** adjustment of the reactants and pH values of the systems to remove interlayered CO_(3)^(2−)groups,the centric layers in 1 were transformed to the chiral layers of *** further adjusting cationic templates based on host−guest charge matching,the B_(5)O_(10)(OH)cluster unit was transformed to B_(5)O_(11)(OH),which built the chiral porous layers of *** chiral compounds 2 and 3 exhibit moderate second harmonic generation(SHG)responses of 1.1 and 1.7 times that of KDP(KH_(2)PO_(4)).The structural regulations actualize the evolutions on both structural symmetries and dimensions.
