Although most rolling element bearings are grease lubricated,the underlying mechanisms of grease lubrication has not been fully explored.This study investigates grease film evolution with glass disc revolutions in rolling elastohydrodynamic lubrication(EHL)contacts.The evolution patterns of the grease films were highly related to the speed ranges and grease structures.The transference of thickener lumps,film thickness decay induced by starvation,and residual layer were recognized.The formation of an equilibrium film determined by the balance of lubricant loss and replenishment was analyzed.The primary mechanisms that dominate grease film formation in different lubricated contacts were clarified.

Polyoxometalates(POMs)have conducive properties such as controlled Bronsted and Lewis acidity,high thermal stability,nontoxic nature,tunable solubility,and less corrosiveness.POMs have been extensively applied in catalytic organic reactions and have an exciting prospect for industrial applications.This review summarized recent progress in the application of POMs as acid catalysts for various organic reactions including C-C bond formation,C-N bond formation,C-O bond formation,heterocyclic synthesis reactions,cyanosilylation and hydrolysis reactions.Various POMs catalysts including heteropoly acids(HPAs)and cationic functionalized HPAs with Bronsted acidity,HPAs supported on non-precious metal support with Bronsted acidity(or both Bronsted and Lewis acidity),transition metal substituted POMs with Lewis acidity were applied in above reactions.This review attempts to provide up-to-date information about POMs acid-catalyzed organic reactions and propose future prospects.

Background： G-protein β-polypeptide 3 （GNB3） is a β subunit isoform of G-protein that plays important role in signal transduction of membrane G-protein coupled receptors （GPCRs）. The GNB3 splice variant C825T （rs5443） is associated with risk for essential hypertension （EH） and efficacy of therapeutic drugs targeting GPCRs. It is unknown whether the polymorphism is associated with blood pressure （BP） response to telmisartan or amlodipine, two widely prescribed antihypertensive drugs. Methods： A total of 93 subjects initially diagnosed as EH were recruited and underwent a 4-week treatment with telmisartan （42 patients） or amlodipine （51 patients） monotherapy. Both baseline and after-treatment BP were measured. GNB3 C825T polymorphism was genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results： Baseline systolic BP （SBP） and diastolic BP （DBP） were comparable among C825T genotypes in both telmisartan and amlodipine treatment groups. Patients with the CT or TT genotypes showed significantly lower body mass index （BMI） as compared with CC homozygotes in both groups （P 〈 0.05, respectively）. GNB3 825TT homozygotes showed significantly higher alier-treatment DBP and mean arterial presstire （MAP） than those carrying at least one 825C allele （P 〈 0.01） in the telmisartan treatment group. No difference in after-treatment SBE DBP, and MAP levels among C825T genotypes was observed in the amlodipine treatment group. No significant difference in absolute changes in BP levels was observed among the genotypes in either treatment group. Conchlsion： The GNB3 C825T splice variant is associated with the DBP-lowering effect of telmisartan but not amlodipine in Chinese EH patients.

The response functions of a 4π summing BGO detector were established using extensive experimental measurements and GEANT4 simulation. The partial and total efficiencies for all components of the γ-ray interaction with the BGO detector were also measured. These response functions and efficiencies will be used in the β-Oslo method experiments to study the neutron capture cross sections of radioactive heavy ions. The application of the response functions of the BGO detector under simulated continuum γ-rays and source measurement γ-rays proves that the method and response functions are reliable.

Motivated by recent realizations of two-dimensional(2D)superconducting-qubit lattices,we propose a protocol to simulate Hofstadter butterfly with synthetic gauge fields in superconducting circuits.Based on the existing 2D superconducting-qubit lattices,we construct a generalized Hofstadter model on zigzag lattices,which has a fractal energy spectrum similar to the original Hofstadter butterfly.By periodically modulating the resonant frequencies of qubits,we engineer a synthetic gauge field to mimic the generalized Hofstadter Hamiltonian.A spectroscopic method is used to demonstrate the Hofstadter butterfly from the time evolutions of experimental observables.We numerically simulate the dynamics of the system with realistic parameters,and the results show a butterfly spectrum clearly.Our proposal provides a promising way to realize the Hofstadter butterfly on the latest 2D superconducting-qubit lattices and will stimulate the quantum simulation of novel properties induced by magnetic fields in superconducting circuits.

YABBY genes are plant-specific transcription factors(TFs)that function in plant growth and development.We investigated the functions of the YABBY genes in plants’stress tolerance by analyzing the YABBY genes in foxtail millet(Setaria italica)and studying their functions on plant growth and responses to different stresses.Eight YABBY genes were identified on five chromosomes,which showed strong relationships with YABBY genes in other monocot species.Phylogenetical Si YABs were classified into four clades:FIL/YAB3,YAB2,INO,and CRC.No monocot YABBY member was classified into the YAB5 clade.Four conserved motifs were identified,and motif 1 constituted the YABBY domain,whereas motifs 2 and 3 formed the C2-C2 region.Si YAB genes were highly expressed in reproductive tissues.Si DL,one of the Si YABs,was selected to be overexpressed in Arabidopsis thaliana to check the functions of the YABBY genes.Overexpression of Si DL in A.thaliana caused delayed flowering,leaf curling,and reduced seed size.In addition,Si DL acted as a negative regulator in plant response to salt stress.Our study provides information to assist in studying the YABBY gene functions in S.italica.

Arithmetic operations are fundamental in computing models. Novel arithmetic P systems are constructed to perform four basic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. The digits of decimal integers are directly put into hierarchical membranes, one digit one membrane, thus, the number of membranes is reduced and complexity is lowered. Core evolution rules are designed for single digit operations according to the arithmetic formula tables widely used by humans. Some examples are given to illustrate how to compute decimal integers in these P systems and the results indicates that these P systems can efficiently carry out arithmetic computations of integers.

To realize the application of the floating offshore wind turbine(FOWT)from deep to relatively shallow waters,a new concept of multi-column floating wind turbine platform with low center of gravity(CG)is designed and validated.The multi-column low CG platform is designed to support a 6MW wind turbine class and operated at a water depth of 50m in the South China Sea.The frequency domain software WADAM and time domain software NREL-FAST are used to simulate coupled dynamic responses of the floating wind turbine system with second-order wave loads considering.The dynamic behaviors of multi-column low CG FOWT system under normal operation and parked conditions are presented.The influence of second-order wave force on the motion responses of the multi-column platform,fore-aft force and moment of the tower base and mooring force are researched respectively.The results demonstrate that the coupled dynamic responses at rated operating condition and extreme condition meet the normal operating requirements and extreme survival requirements of FOWT system in the shallow water(50m)of South China Sea.In addition,it is found that,the wave frequency response gradually replaces the second-order low frequency response as the main influencing factor of the coupled dynamic response of the FOWT system with the increasing severity of the sea states.However,in general,the magnitude of second-order low frequency response increases with the increasing severity of the design load case.Thus,in the subsequent design of the shallow water FOWT system,the second-order effects should be paid enough attention.

Mechanical Property and Microstructure of Cement Mortar with Carbonated Recycled Powder

Carbonated recycled powder as cementitious auxiliary material can reduce carbon emissions and realize high-quality recycling of recycled concrete.In this paper,microscopic property of recycled powder with three carbonation methods was tested through XRD and SEM,the mechanical property and microstructure of recycled powder mortar with three replacement rates were studied by ISO method and SEM,and the strengthening mechanism was analyzed.The results showed that the mechanical property of recycled powder mortar decreased with the increasing of replacement rate.It is suggested that the replacement rate of recycled powder should not exceed 20%.The strength index and activity index of carbonated recycled powder mortar were improved,in which the flexural strength was increased by 27.85%and compressive strength was increased by 20%at the maximum.Recycled powder can be quickly and completely carbonated,and the improvement effect of CH pre-soaking carbonation was the best.The activity index of carbonated recycled powder can meet the requirements of Grade II technical standard for recycled powder.Microscopic results revealed the activation mechanism of carbonated recycled powder such as surplus calcium source effect,alkaline polycondensation effect and carbonation enhancement effect.
