Yu et al.[1]reported that the tumor necrosis factor(TNF)receptor OX40(CD134)-TNF receptor-associated factor 6(TRAF6)axis mediates lys63-linked ubiquitination and subsequent lysosomal degradation of cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4(CTlA-4),leading to the enhancement of CD8^(+)T-cell-mediated antitumor *** findings unveil a previously unknown mechanism in controlling the stability of the immune checkpoint CTlA-4 and provide a potential therapeutic target for the improvement of Tcell-based immunotherapy.

While the use of low-melting-point metals as sintering aids for high-entropy carbide(HEC)ceramics has been well established,their existence can compromise hardness due to residual metallic *** study demonstrates an innovative strategy to meet this challenge,where(Ti,Zr,Nb,Ta,Mo)C high-entropy carbide ceramics with ultrafine grains and enhanced hardness are obtained through chromium(Cr)-metal-assisted spark plasma sintering(SPS)at a temperature as low as 1600℃.The results show that the addition of 5 vol%Cr promotes the formation of highly densified single HEC phase ceramics with a high relative density(98.4%)and an ultrafine-grained microstructure(0.17μm).This low-temperature densification mechanism can be attributed to Cr’s solid-solution effect within the matrix and the increased carbon vacancies generated during *** grain size of the(Ti,Zr,Nb,Ta,Mo)C ceramics with 5 vol%Cr metal addition is significantly smaller than that of Cr-free(Ti,Zr,Nb,Ta,Mo)C ceramics sintered at 2000℃(3.03μm)or via traditional low-temperature liquid-phase sintering(1.3–1.5μm).Importantly,the addition of 5 vol%Cr substantially increased the hardness of the ceramics,with a remarkable increase from 23.57 to 28.16 GPa compared to that of the pure(Ti,Zr,Nb,Ta,Mo)C ceramics,owing to the fine-grain strengthening and solid-solution strengthening *** work highlights the uniqueness of Cr metal as a sintering aid in achieving densification and hardness improvements in(Ti,Zr,Nb,Ta,Mo)C ceramics,offering a promising strategy for improving the properties of HEC materials for further development in the near future.

Heavy components of low-alloy high-strength(lAHS) steels are generally formed by multi-pass forging. It is necessary to explore the flow characteristics and hot workability of lAHS steels during the multi-pass forging process, which is beneficial to the formulation of actual processing parameters. In the study, the multi-pass hot compression experiments of a typical lAHS steel are carried out at a wide range of deformation temperatures and strain rates. It is found that the work hardening rate of the experimental material depends on deformation parameters and deformation passes, which is ascribed to the impacts of static and dynamic softening behaviors. A new model is established to describe the flow characteristics at various deformation passes. Compared to the classical Arrhenius model and modified Zerilli and Armstrong model, the newly proposed model shows higher prediction accuracy with a confidence level of 0.98565. Furthermore, the connection between power dissipation efficiency(PDE) and deformation parameters is revealed by analyzing the microstructures. The PDE cannot be utilized to reflect the efficiency of energy dissipation for microstructure evolution during the entire deformation process, but only to assess the efficiency of energy dissipation for microstructure evolution in a specific deformation parameter *** a result, an integrated processing map is proposed to better study the hot workability of the lAHS steel, which considers the effects of instability factor(IF), PDE, and distribution and size of grains. The optimized processing parameters for the multi-pass deformation process are the deformation parameters of 1223–1318 K and 0.01–0.08 s^(-1). Complete dynamic recrystallization occurs within the optimized processing parameters with an average grain size of 18.36–42.3 μm. This study will guide the optimization of the forging process of heavy components.

The design of cost-effective electrocatalysts is an open challenging for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)due to the“stable-oractive”*** dioxide(ZrO_(2)),a versatile and low-cost material that can be stable under OER operating conditions,exhibits inherently poor OER activity from experimental ***,we doped a series of metal elements to regulate the ZrO_(2)catalytic activity in OER via spin-polarized density functional theory calculations with van der Waals *** modeling as a function of the OER activity descriptor(G_(O*)-G_(HO*))displays that 16 metal dopants enable to enhance OER activities over a thermodynamically stable ZrO_(2)surface,among which Fe and Rh(in the form of single-atom dopant)reach the volcano peak(*** optimal activity of OER under the potential of interest),indicating excellent OER *** energy diagram calculations,density of states,and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations further showed that Fe and Rh are the effective dopants for ZrO_(2),leading to low OER overpotential,high conductivity,and good *** cost-effectiveness,single-atom Fe doped ZrO_(2)emerged as the most promising catalyst for *** finding offers a valuable perspective and reference for experimental researchers to design cost-effective catalysts for the industrial-scale OER production.

A reduced combustion mechanism of ammonia/diesel optimized with multi-objective genetic algorithm

For the deep understanding on combustion of ammonia/diesel,this study develops a reduced mechanism of ammonia/diesel with 227 species and 937 *** sub-mechanism on ammonia/interactions of N-based and C-based species(N—C)/NOx is optimized using the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II(NSGA-II)with 200 *** optimized mechanism(named as 937b)is validated against combustion characteristics of ammonia/methane(which is used to examine the accuracy of N—C interactions)and ammonia/diesel *** ignition delay times(IDTs),the laminar flame speeds and most of key intermediate species during the combustion of ammonia/methane blends can be accurately simulated by 937b under a wide range of *** for ammonia/diesel blends with various diesel energy fractions,reasonable predictions on the IDTs under pressures from 1.0 MPa to5.0 MPa as well as the laminar flame speeds are also achieved by *** particular,with regard to the IDT simulations of ammonia/diesel blends,937b makes progress in both aspects of overall accuracy and computational efficiency,compared to a detailed ammonia/diesel *** kinetic analysis reveals that the reaction pathway of ammonia during the combustion of ammonia/diesel blend mainly differs in the tendencies of oxygen additions to NH_2 and NH with different equivalence ratios.

The potential association between colorectal cancer(CRC)and environmental pollutants is *** studies have found that some perfluoroalkyl acids,including perfluorooctane sulfonate(PFOS),induced colorectal tumors in experimental animals and promoted the migration of and invasion by CRC cells in vitro,but the underlying mechanism is ***,we investigated the effects of PFOS on the proliferation and migration of CRC cells and the potentialmechanisms involving activating the PI3K/Akt-NF-κB signal pathway and epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT).It was found that PFOS promoted the growth andmigration of HCT116 cells at non-cytotoxic concentrations and increased the mRNA expression of the migration-related angiogenic cytokines vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and interleukin-8(Il-8).In a mechanistic investigation,the up-stream signal pathway PI3K/Akt-NF-κB was activated by PFOS,and the process was suppressed by lY294002(PI3K/Akt inhibitor)and BAY11-7082(NF-κB inhibitor)respectively,leading to less proliferation of HCT116 ***,matrix metalloproteinases(MMP)and EMT-related markers were up-regulated after PFOS exposure,and were also suppressed respectively by lY294002 and ***,the up-regulation of EMT markers was suppressed by a MMP inhibitor *** together,our results indicated that PFOS promotes colorectal cancer cell migration and proliferation by activating the PI3K/Akt-NF-κB signal pathway and epithelial-mesenchymal *** could be a potential toxicological mechanism of PFOS-induced malignant development of colorectal cancer.
