Insights into microscopic oil occurrence characteristics in shales from the Paleogene Funing Formation in Subei Basin, China

The microscopic occurrence characteristics primarily constrain the enrichment and mobility of shale *** study collected the lacustrine shales from the Palaeogene Funing Formation in the Gaoyou Sag, Subei Basin. Conventional and multistage Rock-Eval, scanning electron microscopy, and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) T1-T2were performed to analyze the contents and occurrence characteristics of shale oil. Low-temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption(LTNA/D) experiments were conducted on the shales before and after extraction. The relationships between shale oil occurrence with organic matter and pore structures were then discussed. Predominantly, the shale oil in the Funing Formation is found within fractures, with secondary occurrences in interparticle pores linked to brittle minerals and sizeable intraparticle pores associated with clay minerals. The selected shales can be categorized into two types based on the nitrogen isotherms. Type A shales are characterized by high contents of felsic and calcareous minerals but low clay minerals, with larger TOC and shale oil values. Conversely, Type B shales are marked by abundant clay minerals but diminished TOC and shale oil contents. The lower BET specific surface area(SSA), larger average pore diameter, and simpler pore surfaces and pore structures lead to the Type A shales being more conducive to shale oil enrichment and mobility. Shale oil content is predominantly governed by the abundance of organic matter, while an overabundance of organic matter typically equates to a reduced ratio of free oil and diminished fluidity. The BET SSA, volumes of pores less than 25 and 100 nm at extracted state all correlate negatively with total and adsorbed oil contents but display no correlation with free oil, while they have positive relationships with capillary-bound ***, pore water is mainly saturated in micropores(<25 nm) and minipores(25-100 nm), as well as adsorbed oil, while free oil, i.e., bound and movable

BACKGROUND Primary small cell esophageal carcinoma(PSCEC)is aggressive and rare,with a worse prognosis than other subtypes esophageal *** definitive and optimum standard guidelines are established for treating ***,we report a case of PSCEC,including a current literature review of *** SUMMARY A 79-year-old male was diagnosed PSCEC with multiple lymph node metastasis thorough computed tomography,positron emission tomography-computed tomography,endoscopy and *** was not suitable for this *** was treated with etoposide 100 mg/m2 and cisplatin 25 mg/m2 on days 1-3,every 3 wk for 4 *** tumor and lymph nodes became smaller and dysphagia and vomiting symptoms *** patient could not tolerate subsequent chemotherapy(CT)because of hematological toxicity;therefore,we performed immunotherapy(durvalumab,1500 mg)every 4 *** present the patient has received 12 cycles immunotherapy over about 1 *** is still receiving treatment and *** PSCEC with multiple lymph nodes metastasis does not always indicate *** may extend survival time and improve the quality of life in the absence of *** or immunotherapy plus CT may also work as a treatment for PSCEC.

Combining surgery with 125I brachytherapy for recurrent mediastinal dedifferentiated liposarcoma: A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Dedifferentiated liposarcoma in the mediastinum is an extremely rare malignant neoplasm.A few previous case reports indicate that surgical resection is the major treatment,but frequent recurrence occurs *** to its rarity,its clinical characteristics,optimal treatment and clinical outcomes remain ***,we report a case of multifocal recurrent dedifferentiated liposarcoma in the posterior mediastinum treated by combining surgery with 125I brachytherapy,and summarize its clinical features,treatment and *** SUMMARY A 75-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with a history of gradual dysphagia for one year and aggravated dysphagia for 3 ***-enhanced computed tomography(CT)revealed several large cystic-solid masses with lipomatous density,and calcification in the posterior-inferior *** patient received a wide excision by video-assisted thoracoscopic *** analysis confirmed the tumors were dedifferentiated *** tumor locally relapsed 24 mo later,and another operation was performed by video-assisted thoracoscopic *** months after the second surgery,the tumor recurred again,and the patient received CT-guided radioactive seeds 125I *** 8 mo,follow-up chest CT showed an enlarged ***,his condition exacerbated with severe dysphagia and dyspnea,and he died of respiratory failure in July *** We reviewed the literature,and suggest that surgical resection provides beneficial effects for dedifferentiated liposarcoma in the mediastinum,even in cases with local recurrence.125I brachytherapy may be beneficial for recurrent unresectable patients.

Controls on the organic carbon content of the lower Cambrian black shale in the southeastern margin of Upper Yangtze

Control of various factors, including mineral components, primary productivity and redox level, on the total organic carbon(TOC) in the lower Cambrian black shale from southeastern margin of Upper Yangtze(Taozichong, Longbizui and Yanbei areas) is discussed in detail in this article. Mineral components in the study strata are dominated by quartz and clay minerals. Quartz in the Niutitang Formation is mainly of biogenic origin, and the content is in positive correlation with TOC, while the content of clay minerals is negatively correlated with TOC. Primary productivity, represented by the content of Mobio(biogenic molybdenum), Babio(biogenic barium) and phosphorus, is positively correlated with TOC. The main alkanes in studied samples are nCC, and odd–even priority values are closed to 1(0.73–1.13), which suggest the organic matter source was marine plankton. Element content ratios of U/Th and Ni/Co and compound ratio Pr/Ph indicate dysoxic–anoxic bottom water, with weak positive relative with TOC. In total, three main points can be drawn to explain the relationship between data and the factors affecting organic accumulation:(1) quartz-rich and clay-mineral-poor deep shelf–slope–basin environment was favorable for living organisms;(2) high productivity provided the material foundation for organic generation;(3) the redox conditions impact slightly on the content of organic matter under high productivity and dysoxic–anoxic condition.

Microscopic occurrence and distribution of oil and water in situ shale:Evidence from nuclear magnetic resonance

Characterizing the microscopic occurrence and distribution of in-situ pore water and oil is crucial for resource estimation and development method selection of shale oil. In this paper, a series of nuclear magnetic resonance（NMR） experiments were conducted on shales from the Gulong Sag, Songliao Basin,China, at AR, WR-AR, WOR-AR, Dry, SO, and WR states. In-situ pore water and oil were reconstructed after WOR-AR. An improved T1-T2pattern for shale oil reservoirs comprising water and oil was proposed to classify and quantitatively detect pore fluids at different occurrence states. The total and free oil contents derived from NMR T1-T2spectra at AR states were found to correlate well with those from multistage Rock-Eval. Moreover, the NMR-calculated total and free oil are generally larger than those measured from multistage Rock-Eval, whereas adsorbed oil is the opposite, which implies that adsorbed,bound, and movable oils in shale pores can be accurately and quantitatively detected via NMR, without absorbed hydrocarbons in kerogen. As per the NMR T2and T1-T2spectra at WOR-AR state, the micro-distributions of in-situ pore water and oil were clearly demonstrated. Adsorbed, bound, and movable oils primarily occur in the micropores（1000 nm）,respectively, whereas capillary-bound water is primarily correlated with micropores. Thus, the microscopic occurrence and distribution of adsorbed oil are remarkably affected by pore water, followed by bound oil, and movable oil is hardly affected. This study would be helpful in further understanding the microscopic occurrence characteristics of pore fluids in-situ shale oil reservoirs.

磷是水体富营养化的主要控制因素,在外源磷输入逐步得到控制后,作为内源磷主要来源的表层沉积物对黄河水体水质的影响作用不容忽视。掌握表层沉积物中磷的积累程度以及沉积物-水界面磷的交换能力,对区域内水环境的治理和磷负荷的调控具有重要的意义。选择黄河甘宁蒙段作为研究区域,分别采集丰水期(2011.07)、枯水期(2014.05)和平水期(2014.10)表层沉积物样品,使用标准测试程序(SMT)和钼锑抗分光光度法测定样品中磷赋存形态,并在实验条件下模拟表层沉积物对磷的等温吸附及吸附动力学过程。研究发现:(1)相比于国内主要河流表层沉积物中磷的形态特征,黄河甘宁蒙段表层沉积物中有机磷(OP)和铁/铝结合态磷(NaOH-P)含量相对较低,钙结合态磷(HCl-P)含量较高;各形态磷含量的平均值均在丰水期最高,表明丰水期表层沉积物中磷的积累程度最高,黄河甘宁蒙段水环境受到沿程农业发展的冲击较大。因此,合理使用含磷化肥和优化灌渠退水水质是未来降低黄河水体磷污染风险的发展方向。(2)基于低磷浓度下等温吸附中各采样点表层沉积物吸附-解吸平衡浓度(EPC_0)与判断水体发生富营养化的磷浓度阈值的比较发现,研究区域所有水期大多数采样点表层沉积物发挥着"磷源"的作用,存在向上覆水释放磷的趋势,且枯水期中多数采样点的EPC_0值较高,"磷源"作用更加明显;基于L模型和F模型对高磷浓度下等温吸附的拟合参数,显示丰水期表层沉积物对磷的持留能力最强,枯水期次之,平水期最小,所有采样点表层沉积物对磷的吸附过程均易发生;基于吸附动力学曲线的变化趋势可知,所选择的各采样点磷吸附量在反应开始的12 h内迅速增大, 12～48 h内吸附量逐渐增加并趋于稳定;基于伪二级动力学方程对吸附动力学过程的拟合结果,表明表层沉积物对磷吸附过程的反应速率受化学吸附控制为主;从同一水期不同采样点吸附过程中的限速步骤不同及不同水期邻近采样点吸附过程中限速步骤均为微孔扩散的结果发现,表层沉积物组成和理化性质的差异对磷吸附速率的影响大于不同水期条件下上覆水流速和流量的变化。

Rational engineering of semiconductor photocatalysts for efficient hydrogen production is of great significance but still challenging,primarily due to the limitations in charge transfer ***,a fascinating plasmonic tandem heterojunction with the hc-CdS/Mo_(2)C@C heterostructure is aimfully prepared for effectively promoting the charge separation kinetics of the CdS photocatalyst via the synergistic strategy of phase junction,Schottky junction,and photothermal *** difference in atomic configuration between cubic-CdS (c-CdS) and hexagonal-CdS (h-CdS) leads to effective charge separation through a typical Ⅱ charge transfer mechanism,and plasmonic Schottky junction further extracts the electrons in the hc-CdS phase junction to realize gradient charge ***,the photothermal effect of Mo_(2)C@C helps to expand the light absorption,accelerate charge transfer kinetics,and reduce the hydrogen evolution energy *** carbon layer provides a fast channel for charge transfer and protects the photocatalyst from *** a result,the optimized hc-CMC photocatalyst exhibits a significantly high photocatalytic H_(2)production activity of 28.63 mmol/g/h and apparent quantum efficiency of 61.8%,surpassing most of the reported *** study provides a feasible strategy to enhance the charge transfer kinetics and photocatalytic activity of CdS by constructing plasmonic tandem heterogeneous junctions.

Synthesis of ternary geopolymers using prediction for effective solidification of mercury in tailings

This study used steel slag,fly ash,and metakaolin as raw materials(SFM materials)to create silica-alumina-based geopolymers that can solidify Hg^(2+)when activated with sodiumbased water *** experiments began with a triangular lattice point mixing design experiment,and the results were fitted,analyzed,and *** optimum SFM material mass ratio was found to be 70%steel slag,25%fly ash,and 5%*** optimum modulus of the activator was identified by comparing the unconfined compressive strength and solidifying impact on Hg^(2+)of geosynthetics with different *** SFM geopolymer was then applied in the form of potting to cure the granulated mercury *** inclusion of 50%SFM material generated a geosynthetic that reduced mercury transport to the surface soil by roughly 90%.The mercury concentration of herbaceous plant samples was also reduced by 78%.It indicates that the SFM material can effectively attenuate the migration transformation of ***,characterization methods such as XPS and FTIR were used to investigate the mechanism of Hg^(2+)solidification by geopolymers generated by SFM *** possible solidification mechanisms were proposed as alkaline environment-induced mercury precipitation,chemical bonding s,surface adsorption of Hg^(2+)and its precipitates by the geopolymer,and physical encapsulation.
