High mortality rates from cardiovascular diseases(CVDs)persist *** people are at a higher risk of developing these *** the current high treatment cost for CVDs,there is a need to prevent CVDs and or develop treatment *** and Chinese medicines have been used to treat ***,several factors,such as inaccurate diagnoses,non-standard prescriptions,and poor adherence behavior,lower the benefits of the treatments by Chinese medicine(CM).Artificial intelligence(AI)is increasingly used in clinical diagnosis and treatment,especially in assessing efficacy of CM in clinical decision support systems,health management,new drug research and development,and drug efficacy *** this study,we explored the role of AI in CM in the diagnosis and treatment of CVDs,and discussed application of AI in assessing the effect of CM on CVDs.

An active reflector is one of the key technologies for constructing large telescopes, especially for millimeter/sub-millimeter radio telescopes. This article in- troduces a new efficient laser angle metrology system for an active reflector antenna on large radio telescopes. Our experiments concentrate on developing an active reflec- tor for improving the detection precisions and the maintenance of the surface shape in real time on the 65-meter prototype radio telescope constructed by Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics and Technology （NIAOT; http：//***/）. The test results indicate that the accuracy of the surface shape segmentation and maintenance has the dimensions of microns, and the time-response can be on the order of minutes. Our efforts proved to be workable for sub-millimeter radio telescopes.

A New Sufficient Degree Condition for a Graphic Sequence to Be Forcibly k-Edge-Connected

A graphic sequence π =(d1, d2,..., dn) is said to be forcibly k-edge-connected if every realization of π is k-edge-connected. In this paper, we obtain a new sufficient degree condition for π to be forcibly k-edgeconnected. We also show that this new sufficient degree condition implies a strongest monotone degree condition for π to be forcibly 2-edge-connected and a conjecture about a strongest monotone degree condition for π to be forcibly 3-edge-connected due to Bauer et al.(Networks, 54(2)(2009) 95-98), and also implies a strongest monotone degree condition for π to be forcibly 4-edge-connected.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different concentrations of sporamin on the differentiation and proliferation of 3T3-LI preadipocytes, providing the theoretical basis for the development of food to treat obesity and diabetes, The isolation and purification of sporamin from sweet potato species 55-2 were performed by ammonium sulphate precipitation in combination with ion-exchange and gel filtration chromatography. With berberine as a positive control, different concentrations ofsporamin （0.000, 0.125, 0.025, 0.250, 0.500, and 1.000 mg·mL^-1 were used to treat 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. Intracellular fat accumulation and the degree of adipogenesis were quantified using Oil Red O staining and colorimetry, Preadipocytes differentiation was measured by 3（4,5-dimethylthiazolyl-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide （MTT） spectrophotometric assay. Two sporamin proteins, which were separated into sporamin A （31 kD） and sporamin B （22 kD）, could be purified by ion-exchange and gel filtration chromatography. After being treated by different concentrations of sporamin, the differentiation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was significantly inhibited, compared with the positive control. When the sporamin solution concentration was 0.500 mg mL-1, the accumulation of lipid droplets within the cells was significantly decreased and the optical density （OD） value of the solution from destained Oil Red O reached to 0.35, which was the lowest value （P〈 0.05）. The proliferation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was significantly inhibited by treating at higher sporamin concentrations. In addition, the inhibitory effect was more obvious with the prolonged treatment time （P〈 0.05）. The differentiation and proliferation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes could be inhibited significantly by the addition of higher concentration sporamin. It was, therefore, suggested that the sporamin was potentially effective for weight loss.

The climate impact studies in hydrology often rely on climate change information at fine spatial resolution. However, the general circulation model (GCM), which is widely used to simulate future climate scenario, operates on a coarse scale and does not provide reliable data on local or regional scale for hydrological modeling. Therefore the outputs from GCM have to be downscaled to obtain the information fit for hydrologic studies. The variable infiltration capacity (VIC) distributed hydrological model with 9×9 km2 grid resolution was applied and calibrated in the Hanjiang Basin. Validation results show that SSVM can approximate observed precipitation and temperature data reasonably well, and that the VIC model can simulate runoff hydrograph with high model efficiency and low relative error. By applying the SSVM model, the trends of precipitation and temperature (including daily mean temperature, daily maximum temperature and daily minimum temperature) projected from CGCM2 under A2 and B2 scenarios will decrease in the 2020s (2011―2040), and increase in the 2080s (2071―2100). However, in the 2050s (2041―2070), the precipitation will be decreased under A2 scenario and no significant changes under B2 scenario, but the temperature will be not obviously changed under both climate change scenarios. Under both climate change scenarios, the impact analysis of runoff, made with the downscaled precipitation and temperature time series as input of the VIC distributed model, has resulted in a decreasing trend for the 2020s and 2050s, and an overall increasing trend for the 2080s.

This paper reports LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb ages and REE compositions on detrital zircons （Type 1） and hydrothermal zircons （Type 2） from low-metasedimentary rocks in the Mesoproterozoic Gaoyuzhuang Formation, Pingquan area, Hebei Province that provide important constraints on the tectonic evolution along the northern margin of the North China Block. The detrital zircons are characterized by an oscillatory magmatic core, surrounded by a narrow structureless rim in CL images. They yield 2~7pb/2~tpb ages ranging from 1703 to 2543 Ma with two age peaks at 2473 and 1794 Ma, which is consistent with the Neoarchean and Paleoproterozoic tectono-thermal events recorded in the NCB basement, indicating that the source of the detritus was locally derived. By contrast, the hydrothermal ones are euhedral, sector zoning or internally structureless. They have relatively higher U and Th contents and Th/U ratios （U=139-2918 ppm, Th=35-1327 ppm, Th/U （average） =0.78 vs. U=15-1044 ppm, Th=8-341 ppm, Th/U （average） =0.57 for detrital zircons）. Moreover, they are also enriched in REEs relative to detrital zircons and show a lower positive Ce anomaly （ZREE = 659-2418 ppm vs. 231-611 ppm for detrital zircon; Ce/Ce＊=2-13 vs. 33-174 for detrital zircons）, similar to known hydrothermal zircons derived from many locations. These characteristics, combined with our field petrographic observations, indicate that the hydrothermal zircons possibly formed from a low temperature aqueous fluid. Twelve concordant or near-concordant analyses on hydrothermal zircons yield weighted mean 206pb/238U ages of 325-327 Ma, which provide unambiguous evidence that the northern NCB underwent late Paleozoic low temperature hydrothermal modification. This timing of this hydrothermal event is compatible with that of the late Paleozoic magmatic and metamorphic-deformational events occurred on the northern margin of the NCB, it appears likely that the hydrothermal activity resulted from southward subduction of the Paleo-

Poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)/polystyrene(PS)/carbon black(CB)and poly(ethyl methacrylate)(PEMA)/PS/CB ternary composite films were obtained using solution casting technique to investigate double percolation *** both PMMA/PS/CB and PEMA/PS/CB ternary composite films,the CB particles prefer to locate into PS phase based on the results of calculating wetting coefficient,which is also confirmed by SEM *** conductivity of the films was investigated,and the percolation threshold(￠c)of both ternary composite films with different polymer blend ratios was determined by fitting the McLachlan GEM *** of PMMA/PS/CB ternary composite films showed a typical double percolation ***,due to the double emulsion structure of PEMA/PS polymer blends,the PEMA/PS/CB ternary composite films(PEMA/PS=50/50)showed a higher￠c,even CB only located in PS phase,which conflicts with the double percolation effect.A schematic diagram combined with SEM images was proposed to explain this phenomenon.

Autoimmune diseases （ADs） arise from an abnormal immune response of the body against substances and tissues normally present in the body. More than a hundred of ADs have been described in the literature so far. Although their etiology remains largely unclear, various types of ADs tend to share more associated genes with other types of ADs than with non-AD types. Here we present GAAD, a gene and AD association database. In GAAD, we collected 44,762 associations between 49 ADs and 4249 genes from public databases and MEDLINE documents. We manually verified the associations to ensure the quality and credibility. We reconstructed and recapitulated the relationships among ADs using their shared genes, which further validated the quality of our data. We also provided a list of significantly co-occurring gene pairs among ADs;with embedded tools, users can query gene co-occurrences and construct customized cooccurrence network with genes of interest. To make GAAD more straightforward to experimental biologists and medical scientists, we extracted additional information describing the associations through text mining, including the putative diagnostic value of the associations, type and position of gene polymorphisms, expression changes of implicated genes, as well as the phenotypical consequences, and grouped the associations accordingly. User-specified trust relations are often very sparse and dynamic, making them difficult to accurately predict from online social media. In addition, trust relations are usually unavailable for most social media *** issues pose a great challenge for predicting trust relations and further building trust networks. In this study,we investigate whether we can predict trust relations via a sparse learning model, and propose to build a trust network without trust relations using only pervasively available interaction data and homophily effect in an online world. In particular, we analyze the reliability of predicting trust relations by interaction behaviors, and provide a principled way to mathematically incorporate interaction behaviors and homophily effect in a novel framework,b Trust. Results of experiments on real-world datasets from Epinions and Ciao demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed framework. Further experiments were conducted to understand the importance of interaction behaviors and homophily effect in building trust networks.

Moisture contribution and transport pathways for Central Asia(CA)are quantitatively examined using the Lagrangian water cycle model based on reanalysis and observational data to explain the precipitation seasonality and the moisture transport variation during ***-related(northwesterly and westerly)transport explains 42%of CA precipitation and dominates in southwest CA,where precipitation is greatest in the cold *** CA,including part of Northwest China,experiences its maximum precipitation in the warm season and is solely dominated by southerly transport,which explains about 48%of CA *** remaining 10%of CA precipitation is explained by northerly transport,which steadily impacts north CA and causes a maximum in precipitation in the warm *** CA areas are exposed to seasonally varying moisture transport,except for southeast and north CA,which are impacted by southerly and northerly transport *** general,the midlatitude westerlies-driven transport and the Indian monsoon-driven southerly-related transport explain most of the spatial differences in precipitation seasonality over ***,the contribution ratio of local evaporation in CA to precipitation exhibits significant interdecadal variability and a meridionally oriented tripole of moisture transport *** the early 2000s,CA has experienced a decade of anomalously low local moisture contribution,which seems jointly determined by the weakened moisture contribution from midlatitudes(the Atlantic,Europe,and CA itself)and the enhanced contribution from high latitudes(West Siberia and the Arctic)and tropical areas(South Asia and the Indian Ocean).
