Negative Poisson’s ratio cable compensation support for 32 m super-large-span highway tunnel:A case study

Although super-large-span tunnels ensure convenient transportation,they face many support *** lack of normative construction guidance and the limited number of reference engineering cases pose a significant challenge to the stability control of superlarge-span *** on the geological conditions of a super-large-span tunnel(span=32.17 m)at the bifurcation section of the Shenzhen interchange,this study determined support parameters via theoretical calculation,numerical simulation,and engineering *** support effects of negative Poisson’s ratio(NPR)anchor cables and ordinary anchor cables on super-long-span tunnels were simulated and ***,based on FLAC3D simulations,the surrounding rock stress field of NPR anchor cables was analyzed under different prestressing conditions,and the mechanism of a long-short combination,high-prestress compensation NPR anchor cable support was *** the basis of numerical simulations,to our knowledge,the three-dimensional(3D)geomechanical model test of the NPR anchor cable and ordinary anchor cable support for super-large-span tunnel excavation is conducted for the first time,revealing the stress evolution law of super-large-span tunnels,deformation and failure characteristics of the surrounding rock,and the changing trend of the anchor cable’s axial force,and verifies that NPR anchor cables with high preloads are suitable for super-large-span tunnel support and have advantages over ordinary anchor *** study can provide a reliable theoretical reference for the support design and stability control of the surrounding rock of similar shallow-buried super-large-span tunnels.

A universal strategy of multi-objective active learning to accelerate the discovery of organic electrode molecules

Organic electrode molecules hold significant potential as the next generation of cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. In this study, we have introduced a multi-objective active learning framework that leverages Bayesian optimization and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms-Ⅱ. This framework enables the selection of organic molecules characterized by high theoretical energy density and low gap(LUMO-HOMO)(LUMO, lowest unoccupied molecular orbital; HOMO, highest occupied molecular orbital). Remarkably, after only two cycles of active learning, the determination of coefficient can reach 0.962 for theoretical energy density and 0.920 for the gap with a modest dataset of 300 molecules, showcasing superior predictive capabilities. The 2,3,5,6-tetrafluorocyclohexa-2,5-diene-1,4-dione, selected by non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms-Ⅱ, has been successfully applied to Li-ion batteries as cathode materials, demonstrating a high capacity of 288 m Ah g-1and a long cycle life of 1,000 cycles. This outcome underscores the high reliability of our framework. Furthermore, we have also validated the universality and transferability of our framework by applying it to two additional databases, the QM9 and OMEAD. When the training dataset of the model includes at least 500 molecules, the determination of coefficient essentially reaches approximately0.900 for four targets: gap, reduction potential, LUMO, and HOMO. Therefore, the universal framework in our work provides innovative insights applicable to other domains to expedite the screening process for target materials.

Artemisia argyi extract subfraction exerts an antifungal effect against dermatophytes by disrupting mitochondrial morphology and function

We propose a novel image segmentation algorithm to tackle the challenge of limited recognition and segmentation performance in identifying welding seam images during robotic intelligent ***,to enhance the capability of deep neural networks in extracting geometric attributes from depth images,we developed a novel deep geometric convolution operator(DGConv).DGConv is utilized to construct a deep local geometric feature extraction module,facilitating a more comprehensive exploration of the intrinsic geometric information within depth ***,we integrate the newly proposed deep geometric feature module with the Fully Convolutional Network(FCN8)to establish a high-performance deep neural network algorithm tailored for depth image ***,we enhance the FCN8 detection head by separating the segmentation and classification *** enhancement significantly boosts the network’s overall detection ***,for a comprehensive assessment of our proposed algorithm and its applicability in real-world industrial settings,we curated a line-scan image dataset featuring weld *** dataset,named the Standardized Linear Depth Profile(SLDP)dataset,was collected from actual industrial sites where autonomous robots are in ***,we conducted experiments utilizing the SLDP dataset,achieving an average accuracy of 92.7%.Our proposed approach exhibited a remarkable performance improvement over the prior method on the identical ***,we have successfully deployed the proposed algorithm in genuine industrial environments,fulfilling the prerequisites of unmanned robot operations.

Control Strategies for Digital Twin Systems

This paper studies various control strategies for digital twin systems from the viewpoint of practical *** make full use of advantages of digital twins for control systems, an architecture of digital twin control systems, adaptive model tracking scheme, performance prediction scheme, performance retention scheme, and fault tolerant control scheme are proposed. Those schemes are detailed to deal with different issues on model tracking, performance prediction, performance retention, and fault tolerant control of digital twin systems. Also, the stability of digital twin control systems is analysed. The proposed schemes for digital twin control systems are illustrated by examples.

Cloning of sft-4 and its influence on vitality and virulence of pine wood nematode,Bursaphelenchus xylophilus

In our previous screening of the transcriptome of the causal agent of the devastating pine wilt disease,pine wood nematode(PWN,Bursaphelenchus xylophilus),after treatment with the nematicide fomepizole,Surfeit locus gene sft-4,which encodes a regulatory factor,was found to be *** situ hybridization results showed that the sft-4 was continuously expressed from egg to adult and was especially high in the reproductive *** in a study of the effect of RNA interference(RNAi)of sft-4 and recombinant SFT-4 on PWN activity,treatment with sft-4 dsRNA inhibited feeding,reproduction,oviposition and egg hatching of PWN with the greatest inhibition on reproduction and oviposition,whereas recombinant SFT-4 had the opposite *** addition,RNAi of sft-4 changed the female–male ratio and lifespan of *** bioassays of PWNs,with RNAi of sft-4 on seedlings and 2-year-old Pinus thunbergii trees,none of the treated plants developed symp-toms during the monitoring period,indicating that virulence of PWNs was either significantly *** results indicate that the influence of sft-4 on PWN pathogenicity may be mainly through regulating reproductive function of PWN and its lifespan.
