Early identification of stroke through deep learning with multi-modal human speech and movement data

Early identification and treatment of stroke can greatly improve patient outcomes and quality of *** clinical tests such as the Cincinnati Pre-hospital Stroke Scale(CPSS)and the Face Arm Speech Test(FAST)are commonly used for stroke screening,accurate administration is dependent on specialized *** this study,we proposed a novel multimodal deep learning approach,based on the FAST,for assessing suspected stroke patients exhibiting symptoms such as limb weakness,facial paresis,and speech disorders in acute *** collected a dataset comprising videos and audio recordings of emergency room patients performing designated limb movements,facial expressions,and speech tests based on the *** compared the constructed deep learning model,which was designed to process multi-modal datasets,with six prior models that achieved good action classification performance,including the I3D,SlowFast,X3D,TPN,TimeSformer,and *** found that the findings of our deep learning model had a higher clinical value compared with the other ***,the multi-modal model outperformed its single-module variants,highlighting the benefit of utilizing multiple types of patient data,such as action videos and speech *** results indicate that a multi-modal deep learning model combined with the FAST could greatly improve the accuracy and sensitivity of early stroke identification of stroke,thus providing a practical and powerful tool for assessing stroke patients in an emergency clinical setting.

The discovery of phase changings in two-dimensional(2D)materials driven by external stimuli not only helps to understand the various intriguing phases in 2D materials but also provides directions for constructing new functional ***,by combining angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)and in-situ alkali-metal deposition,we studied how alkali-metal adatoms affect the electronic structure of T_(d)-WTe_(2)on two different cleaved *** found that depending on the polarization direction of the cleaved surface,the alkali-metal deposition triggered two successive phase transitions on one surface of WTe_(2),while on the other surface,no phase transition was *** attributed the observed phase transitions to a Td↑-1T′-Td↓structural transition driven by an alkali-metal induced sliding of *** comparing the band structure obtained in different structural phases of WTe_(2),we found that the evolution of band structure across different phases is characterized by an energy scale that could be related to the degree of orbital hybridization between two adjacent WTe_(2)*** results demonstrate a method that manipulates the surface structure of bulk 2D *** also builds a direct correlation between the electronic structure and the degree of interlayer misalignment in this intriguing 2D material.

Introduction and Problem Statement: Many medication errors occur during the community and hospital transition. Indeed, the World Health Organization launched the international “High 5S” project to implement medication reconciliation in healthcare facilities to reduce them and ensure patients a safe, high-quality healthcare pathway. Objective: This study aimed to detect medication errors by reconciling drug treatments and assess the relevance and feasibility of this standardized practice within the Medical Emergency Unit of the Teaching Pediatric Hospital of ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). Methods: Patients whose parents gave their consent at their entrance were enrolled. For each patient, the pharmacy team completed a reconciliation form that included the patient’s usual treatment, which was taken and in progress and received upon admission to the medical emergency unit. Patients’ treatments were reviewed to detect and characterize discrepancies. The data of each form were reported and analyzed using KoboCollect, an Android application. Results: 135 records and 412 medication lines were captured over six weeks. The average time of treatment reconciliation per patient was 57 minutes. One thousand one hundred ninety-eight (1198) intentional discrepancies were detected, of which 6.09% were documented. Seventy-one (71) unintentional discrepancies were collected, including 39 omissions, 24 regimen dosing errors, and 8 pharmaceutical form dosage errors. Forty-nine (49) unintentional discrepancies, or 69.01%, were corrected by formulated pharmaceutical interventions toward physicians. Conclusion: Medical treatment reconciliation during hospital admission is critical because discrepancies can compromise the efficacy and/or safety of the patient’s hospital medication.

Assessment of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from the Kossodo Thermal Power Plant Using the Carbon Balance Method: Financial Year 2022

In light of the increasing recognition of the necessity to evaluate and mitigate the environmental impact of human activities, the aim of this study is to assess the greenhouse gases emitted in 2022 by the Kossodo thermal power plant as a consequence of its electricity production. The specific objective was to identify the emission sources and quantify the gases generated, with the purpose of proposing effective solutions for reducing the plant’s ecological footprint. In order to achieve the objectives set out in the study, the Bilan Carbone® method was employed. Following an analysis of the plant’s activities, seven emission items were identified as requiring further investigation. The data was gathered from the plant’s activity reports, along with measurements and questionnaires distributed to employees. The data collected was subjected to processing in order to produce the sought activity data. The Bilan Carbone® V7.1 spreadsheet was employed to convert the activity data into equivalent quantities of CO2. The full assessment indicates that the majority of the power plant’s emissions come from the combustion of HFO and DDO, accounting for 96.11% of the Kossodo power plant’s total GHG emissions in 2022. The plant produced 280,585,676 kilowatt-hours (kWh), resulting in emissions of 218,492.785 ± 10,924.639 tCO2e, which yielded an emission factor of 0.78 kgCO2e/kWh for the year 2022. In order to reduce this rate, recommendations for improved energy efficiency have been issued to management and all staff.

UHPC预制管混凝土组合柱抗震性能

为研究在低周反复荷载下超高性能混凝土(UHPC)预制管混凝土组合柱的抗震性能,进行共计3根UHPC预制管混凝土组合柱和1根钢筋混凝土柱的拟静力试验,分析在不同UHPC强度和核心混凝土有无配筋情况下,各组合柱试件的破坏模式、位移延性、耗能能力、刚度退化等方面抗震性能.分析结果表明:UHPC预制管混凝土组合柱试件的滞回曲线较为饱满,破坏形态基本相同,均为整体压弯破坏;与传统钢筋混凝土(RC)柱相比,UHPC预制管混凝土组合柱刚度、屈服荷载、延性性能均有提升;随着UHPC强度增大,组合柱试件的滞回曲线更为饱满,耗能能力增强,残余位移小,水平峰值荷载和位移延性系数分别提高了20.60%和6.40%,表现出良好的整体抗震性能;采用ABAQUS程序建立组合柱的有限元分析模型,计算结果与试验结果吻合良好;轴压比、长细比、UHPC强度是影响UHPC预制管混凝土组合柱抗震性能的重要参数,可为同类工程设计提供参考.

The Solar X-ray Detector(SXD)on-board the Macao Science Satellite-1B(MSS-1B)was successfully launched via the Chinese Long March-2C rocket on 21 May 2023,and commenced operations in early June of the same *** MSS-1B/Soft X-ray Detection Units(SXDUs)employ two silicon drift detectors(SDDs),providing a wide range of energy spectra spanning from 0.7 to 24 ***,the SXDUs deliver a high-resolution capability of 0.14 keV@5.9 keV and operate with a time cadence of 1 ***,we perform thorough calibrations of the MSS-1B/SXDUs,employing a combination of ground experiments and *** addition,quantitative analysis comparing the flux measurements obtained by the MSS-1B/SXDUs to the data collected by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite(GOES),provides compelling evidence of their ***,the preliminary spectral analysis results showcase the robustness and expected performance of the MSS-1B/SXDUs,unlocking their potential for facilitating the study of dynamic evolution of solar ***,the innovative MSS-1B/Solar X-ray Detector facilitates concurrent observations of solar soft and hard X-rays,thereby making valuable contributions to the advancements in solar research.

The palladium nanoparticles/carbon nanofibers（Pd NPs/CNFs） catalyst was prepared by the electrospinning method, the hydrazine hydrate solution reduction in an ice bath environment, the high temperature carbonization. The catalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, fieldemission scanning electron microscope（FE-SEM）, and transmission electron microscopy（TEM）. The nanofibers are not cross-linked and arranged in order. The surface of Pd NPs/CNFs is smooth, and it can be observed that a large number of particles were loaded and well-dispersed in carbon fiber matrix, and the particle distribution is uniform. The activity center of catalyst is Pd^（0）. The Pd NPs/CNFs exhibited a high efficiency, good reusability and stability in the Suzuki and Heck reactions. It can be used for at least five consecutive runs without significant loss of its catalytic activity. The good recyclability of Pd NPs/CNFs provides a way to greatly reduce the cost of the catalyst.

数字时代数字化、网络化及其智能化特征催生了思想政治教育时间叙事的多维变革。思想政治教育时间叙事结构由“线性叙事”转向“非线性叙事”,时间叙事状态由“共有时间轴”转向“个性化时间”,时间叙事主体由“单体主导”转向“主体多元”。与此同时,数字时代的互联互通、超时空性及算法技术也内蕴“时间危机”“数字圈层”及“离身隐忧”等风险症候,致使“碎片化”现象阻碍思想政治教育时间叙事的完整性,“回声室效应”阻隔思想政治教育时间叙事的连贯性,“数字在场”阻扰思想政治教育时间叙事的实效性。基于此,通过推动“时空互构”,提升思想政治教育时间叙事的进阶性;强化“虚实互嵌”,拓展思想政治教育时间叙事的场景化;推进“身数互融”,重塑思想政治教育时间叙事的共鸣轴,以提升思想政治教育时间叙事的实效性和针对性。
